About: Moodss is a modular monitoring application, which supports operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows, etc.), databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, ODBC, etc.), networking (SNMP, Apache, etc.), and any device or process for which a module can be developed (in Tcl, Python, Perl, Java, and C). An intuitive GUI with full drag'n'drop support allows the construction of dashboards with graphs, pie charts, etc., while the thresholds functionality includes emails and user defined scripts. Monitored data can be archived in a SQL database by both the GUI and the companion daemon, so that complete history over time can be made available from Web pages or common spreadsheet software. It can even be used for future behavior prediction or capacity planning, from the included predictor tool, based on powerful statistical methods and artificial neural networks.
About: The Remote Microscope system consists of a server that manages the microscope and handles TCP connections, and Java-based client software that allows users to control the microscope. Currently the server software supports two different Leica microscopes, and two image acquisition devices.
About: Celebrat is a very easy-to-use, non-interactive, text-mode calendar application. It reads a data file in ASCII format, and prints on stdout a human-language summary of what events will take place up to ten days from now. It also includes a small daemon which announces events that are due by putting a message on every registered terminal, or by integrating the announcement in the bottom line of GNU screen sessions.
About: The DECnet for Linux project aims to provide the kernel-level socket layer and a set of applications to allow Linux systems to participate in a DECnet phase IV network. It currently has an application library (suitable for building DECnet functionality into X11R6), file and terminal access.
About: Samba is an software suite that provides seamless file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients. It is freely available, unlike other SMB/CIFS implementations, and allows for interoperability between Linux/Unix servers and Windows-based clients.
About: jiffyc is a replacement for rmic, a program that generates the stub and skeleton files needed by distributed applications/applets based on Java RMI. But as it is written in C++, it is substantially faster than rmic. It can be used with either the 1.1 and the 1.2 protocol versions. Development has started to support even RMI over IIOP.
About: The Flight Gear Flight Simulator project is a free, open-source, multi-platform, cooperative flight sim development project. Source code for the entire project is available and licensed under the GPL. The Flight Gear project is working to create a sophisticated flight simulator framework for the development and pursuit of interesting flight simulator ideas. About: ECLiPt Roaster is a GNOME interface to mkisofs and cdrecord which can be used for writing data and audio CDs and ISO images on the fly.
About: curl and libcurl is a tool for transferring files using URL syntax. It supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, SCP, SFTP, TFTP, DICT, TELNET, LDAP, and FILE, as well as HTTP-post, HTTP-put, cookies, FTP upload, resumed transfers, passwords, port numbers, SSL certificates, Kerberos, and proxies. It is powered by libcurl, the client-side URL transfer library. There are bindings to libcurl for over 30 languages and environments.
About: Blackbox is yet another addition to the list of window managers for X. It is written in C++, sharing no common code with any other window manager (even though the graphics implementation is similar to that of WindowMaker). It features small code size, a fast interface with simple menus, multiple workspaces, decorated windows, built-in graphics code to render solids, gradients, and bevels on the fly, and more.
