About: KPilot is an attempt to replace 3Com's Windows based hot sync software for the Palm Pilot. It includes an address editor, drag and drop memo support, file (prc/prb) installation, incremental hot-syncing of whole pilot, as well as backup and restore capabilities. KPilot also supports conduits, currently offering a Pop Client conduit and a conduit to allow you to sync the Datebook with KOrganizer. Changes: Small bug fixes
About: GTK File Browser is supposed to be an Explorer-like tool with network integration. It is under development using GTK. Co-developers and beta-testers are needed. Changes: Maintainer has changed, and now Yarick Rastrigin (yarick@relex.ru) maintains this project. Development continues quite fast, many new basic features implemented.
About: Petey is similar to fortune but with different content. It was originally written to be a small script for a web page of questionable content, but since then got turned into its own small application. The databases that petey comes with are completely replaceable/changeable/modifiable to enable the application to spit out customized output. Changes: Lots of makefile changes, changed the default directory for .petey (but old configurations will still work) more documentation, and added the backtick special character "`" to force linebreaks within data files
About: Imlib is an advanced replacement library for libraries like libXpm that provides many more features with much greater flexibility and speed. It was originally written for E, now used by the GNOME Project. Changes: Version 1.9.2 contains various libtool fixes so shared library dependancies will work ok when compiling from the tarball.
About: Alien converts between the rpm, deb, Stampede slp, and Slackware tgz file formats. If you want to use a package from another distribution than the one you have installed on your system, you can use alien to convert it to your preferred package format and install it.
About: gnuplot plots 2d and 3d graphs, from a data file or with a formula. It has an interactive mode with online help, or it can be used non-interactively. gnuplot does function fitting to data sets, and it does output to many terminals, among which are PostScript, X11 display, PNG, and GIF (via the old gd library). Changes: gnuplot now does function fitting, multiple graphs on one output page, and calculations on input columns.
About: Card Services for Linux is a complete PCMCIA or PC Card support package. It includes a set of loadable kernel modules that implement a version of the Card Services applications program interface, a set of client drivers for specific cards, and a card manager daemon that can respond to card insertion and removal events, loading and unloading drivers on demand. It supports hot swapping of most card types, so cards can be safely inserted and ejected at any time. Changes: This version adds a better support for IDE PCMCIA cards and many new CardBus bridges. It also fixes configuration problems with 2.2.0-pre kernels and various bugs.
About: gxsnmp is a SNMP managment frontend that is a part of the GNOME project. It is meant to be an easy and powerful program for network managment. Even though it is still in its early stages it is already useful for some things. Changes: Version 0.0.10 has bug- and compilation fixes. It should now compile against gnome 0.99.3. See the included README file for a detailed list of changes.
About: The PCI Utilities package contains various utilities dealing with the PCI bus, and also a library for portable access to PCI configuration registers. It includes `lspci' for listing all PCI devices (very useful for debugging of both kernel and device drivers) and `setpci' for manual configuration of PCI devices. Changes: This is the first alpha release of the 2.0 series of PCI utils. The main difference against previous versions is that everything is built on the top of a generic PCI configuration access library which supports multiple access methods. This makes pciutils work even on 2.0 kernels and adds a couple of nifty features. Note: Please keep in mind that this is an alpha version and it's likely to contain incomplete documentation, obsolete .spec files and also bugs.
About: GPStrans is a program which allows track, route, and waypoint data to be transferred to and from a Garmin GPS. It also supports Mayko mXmap formats which enable you to create a route using your 'favorite' map and load the data into the GPS. Tracks retrieved from your Garmin GPS can be transferred back into your Mayko mXmap-capable application and replayed under Linux. Garmin 38, 40, 45XL, ..., 90, Etrex, and Etrex Summit models are supported. It also reads the current time, retrieves product data, and can turn the GPS off. Changes: This version adds mXmap support and major source cleanups.
About: IPTraf is an ncurses-based IP LAN monitor that generates various network statistics including TCP info, UDP counts, ICMP and OSPF information, Ethernet load info, node stats, IP checksum errors, and others. Changes: PLIP support ISDN/raw IP and ISDN/Cisco HDLC support, a new display option (kbits or kbytes per second), some slight additions to the IP statistics information, and a new format for the IP traffic monitor log file, as well as many bug fixes.
About: GnuPG (the GNU Privacy Guard or GPG) is GNU's tool for secure communication and data storage. It can be used to encrypt data and to create digital signatures. It includes an advanced key management facility and is compliant with the proposed OpenPGP Internet standard as described in RFC2440. As such, it is meant to be compatible with PGP from NAI, Inc. Because it does not use any patented algorithms, it can be used without any restrictions. Changes: Some bug fixes and the start of HKP (keyserver) support for automatically fetching public keys.
About: Rscript is written in Expect/Tcl and allows you to automate remote logins and execute a list of commands remotely. It is also useful for scheduling tasks using your local cron instead of the remote cron. rscript is able to execute commands as the superuser (using su) as well. It has support for ssh, ssh2, telnet, and ftp protocols as well as optional remote mail notification of all output. A compact Tcl config file parser is included, as well as example files. A TK GUI frontend allows point and click execution of remote scripts and a window for script output. Changes: Much improved config file parser, command line flexibility, and more example scripts. Also, now with Makefile for installation and running test scripts automatically.
