About: The PCI Utilities package contains various utilities dealing with the PCI bus, and also a library for portable access to PCI configuration registers. It includes `lspci' for listing all PCI devices (very useful for debugging of both kernel and device drivers) and `setpci' for manual configuration of PCI devices. Changes: Implemented bus mapping code which spots even devices behind strange/misconfigured bridges not known to the kernel yet. Also added a parser for PCI capability lists which now recognizes both AGP and PCI Power Management extension registers. The documentation, lsm and spec files and the PCI ID database have been updated as well.
About: ConferenceRoom is a high-performance conferencing tool with web integration and web-based administration. ConferenceRoom is also compatible with IRC clients like mIRC. It includes sophisticated management features for large events. Changes: This is a development release. Support for Linux kernels 2.1.x and 2.2, many optimizations.
About: Pavuk is a Web grabber with an optional GTK GUI, and optional support for downloading with multiple threads. It supports the HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTP via SSL, and Gopher protocols, as well as HTTP GET, and POST requests. It is capable of filling HTML forms while downloading HTML trees, and lets you mirror Web documents for local browsing. You can even synchronize changes to these documents. Recent versions also support processing of Javascript patterns in HTML pages. Pavuk have JavaScript bindings that allow writing of own scripts to perform special tasks. Changes: Added SSL client certification, HTTP digest access authorization. Fixed GUI configuration tool. Bugfixes to configure scripts.
About: The OpenLDAP Project is a collaborative effort to provide a robust, commercial-grade, fully featured, open source LDAP software suite. The project is managed by a worldwide community of volunteers that use the Internet to communicate, plan, and develop OpenLDAP Software and its related documentation. OpenLDAP Software provides a complete LDAP implementation including server, clients, C SDK, and associated tools.
About: CGI::WeT allows code written with CGI.pm to be themed (page layout is detached from page content creation). Changes: Support for mod_perl. Some changes have been made in the code to allow theme overrides for individual pages.
About: acmemail is a multiuser IMAP/POP3 to Web gateway (or webmail program). It reads mail from a mail server and displays it using HTML on a web server. It is written in Perl, has full support for MIME (and mod_perl), is quite pretty, and is GPL'd or distributed under the Perl Artistic License. Changes: Bulk deletion of messages is now possible, speed improvements, better cookie handling.
About: The Gnome Display Manager is a reimplementation of the well known xdm program. GDM consists of a daemon and a graphical login application which runs as an unpriviledged user. The login GUI features a face browser, an optional logo, and language/session type selection support. The daemon includes an XDMCP implementation for managing remote displays. Access control relies on TCPWrappers and PAM. Changes: Second beta release.
About: Festival is a general multi-lingual speech synthesis system developed at CSTR. It offers a full text to speech system with various APIs, as well an environment for development and research of speech synthesis techniques. It is written in C++ with a Scheme-based command interpreter for general control. Changes: Many small but important bug fixes, new KAL US male voice, Improved KED by power normalization, updated lexicons with missing entries found over large corpora. New LTS models for US and UK English.
About: TiMidity is a MIDI to WAVE converter that uses Gravis Ultrasound-compatible patch files and/or AoundFonts to generate digital audio data from General MIDI files. The audio data can be played through any sound device or stored on disk. On a fast machine, music can be played in real time. TiMidity runs under Linux, FreeBSD, HP-UX, SunOS, and Win32, and porting to other systems with gcc should be easy. Changes: Added buttons for pitch and tempo adjustment, configurable selection of PCM device of ALSA, several bug fixes.
About: Jigsaw is W3C's leading-edge Web server platform, providing a sample HTTP 1.1 implementation based on RFC2616 and a variety of other features on top of an advanced architecture implemented in Java. Jigsaw provides both client and server HTTP/1.1 implementations, is fast, easy to extend, flexible, and is also packaged as a ready-to-run HTTP/1.1 proxy-cache.
About: WMixer is a complete OSS mixer solution in dockapp form factor. All channels are supported, stereo channels balance can be adjusted, and main recording source can be set. Volume can also be adjusted using the mousewheel on newer mice, the mixer automatically updates if another program changes mixer channels, and it uses very little CPU time. There is also an "On-Screen-Display" feature to visualize current volume using a TV-like volume bar. Changes: presets now save to ~/.wmixrc, OSD color is configurable through command line, new features. See CHANGES.
About: Etherboot is a free software package for making boot ROMs for booting Linux and other operating systems on x86, Itanium, Hammer, and Hyperstone machines over a network using Internet protocols, namely DHCP and tftp. Changes: Changes to make it compile with Linux 2.2 headers. Also a contributed Tulip driver (under development)
About: X-Chat is a fully-featured graphical IRC client using the GTK toolkit. Optionally it can be compiled to use GNOME and Perl scripting.
About: Mpg123 is a fast, free and portable MPEG audio player and decoder library mainly for Unix (but also ported to other platforms). It supports MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 layers 1, 2, and 3, with CD quality playback even on relatively slow CPUs. Changes: Lots of bug fix patches. The main feature is a bug fix for streams produced by the latest encoders (eg AudioCatalyst)
About: Squid is a high performance Web proxy cache that can be arranged hierarchically for an improvement in response times and a reduction in bandwith usage. Squid runs on all popular Unix and Windows platforms. Changes: New & removed configurations, automatically retries failed requests with 5xx status codes, behaves more like a proper daemon now, new error code, ERR_SHUTTING_DOWN, was added. and _much_ more.
