About: curl and libcurl is a tool for transferring files using URL syntax. It supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, SCP, SFTP, TFTP, DICT, TELNET, LDAP, and FILE, as well as HTTP-post, HTTP-put, cookies, FTP upload, resumed transfers, passwords, port numbers, SSL certificates, Kerberos, and proxies. It is powered by libcurl, the client-side URL transfer library. There are bindings to libcurl for over 30 languages and environments. Changes: Now compiles on Digital Unix.
About: Fookb is an Xkb state indicator. It can be compiled as a standalone application and as a Window Maker docked application. Fookb can switch xkb groups and display a pixmap which corresponds to the locked group. It also can execute a command when a locked group is changed. Changes: Simplified configuration, fixed potential segfault buf, added icon for 'broken Xkb system'.
About: grepmail searches a normal or compressed mailbox (gzip, bzip2, or tzip) for a given regular expression and returns those emails that match the query. It also supports searches constrained by date and size. Changes: Misc bug fixes including empty pipe handling, temp file relocation, etc.
About: Nmap ("Network Mapper") is a utility for network exploration, administration, and security auditing. It uses IP packets in novel ways to determine which hosts are available online (host discovery), which TCP/UDP ports are open (port scanning), and what applications and services are listening on each port (version detection). It can also identify remote host OS and device types via TCP/IP fingerprinting. Nmap offers flexible target and port specifications, decoy/stealth scanning for firewall and IDS evasion, and highly optimized timing algorithms for fast scanning. Changes: Many many enhancements. About: XML Parser for Java is a validating XML parser written in 100% pure Java. The package (com.ibm.xml.parser) contains classes and methods for parsing, generating, manipulating, and validating XML documents. It closely conforms to the XML 1.0 recommendation. Changes: User data object on DOM nodes, better access to DTD information, Support for Swing 1.1, many bugfixes.
About: Sympa is a scalable and highly customizable mailing list software. It can cope with big lists (780,000 subscribers), and it comes with a complete Web interface for both the user and the administrator. It is internationalized. Sites can customize Web and mail templates, authentication backends, and authorization scenarios. Dynamic mailing lists can use multiple backends (LDAP, SQL, files, lists, or others). Sympa is the only S/MIME enabled mailing list software, and it provides both authentication and encryption. Changes: Added Dynamic lists index, default user options, and accepting of messages from local users.
About: QtVu, pronounced CuteView, is an image viewer for the X Window System heavily inspired by ACDSee. Changes: Added installation for the icons, rewrote the thumbnaillist viewer, some fixes to the GUI, added help for compiling and installing QtVu.

About: intel2gas is a converter between the source format of the NASM and GAS (GNU Assembler) assemblers. It was originally written for use with the Hermes project but with extensibility in mind. Syntax files can be written to allow conversion between any other assembly languages. Conversion between MASM and C inline assembly and GNU syntax is now available. Changes: This is the initial release announcement.

About: Terraform allows you to create fractal terrain (also called a height field) and transform it using a number of algorithms. It is meant to be a tool for those who want to generate digital terrain models for use in raytracing or other simulations. Terraform features different views and colormaps and has a preview mode which features interactive real-time rotation of the terrain object. Terraform is written for the GNOME desktop environment. Changes: Many minor improvements, inclusion of fast erosion code.
About: DLC (Dynamically Loadable Classes) is a compact utility that allows loading of shared libraries with C++ classes at runtime in an elegant and convenient way. It has been tested on a Linux platform with gcc 2.95.2, but should work on other ELF platforms as well. A C++ compiler with RTTI support is required.
About: The audit program recursively searches through directories looking for files that may not be needed by checking permissions, names, sizes, types, ownership, links, and timestamps. Changes: This is the first beta release.
About: This is the first alpha release of Qui-ne-faut, an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) filter written for gcc. It extracts individual characters by computing their outlines, providing a very robust, multi-purpose bitmap-to-outline routine, easily reusable. Characters feed a classification tree to perform actual recognition. Changes: First alpha release

About: The DECnet for Linux project aims to provide the kernel-level socket layer and a set of applications to allow Linux systems to participate in a DECnet phase IV network. It currently has an application library (suitable for building DECnet functionality into X11R6), file and terminal access. Changes: Primarily a bug-fix release for FAL. But it also includes SMTP support for the mail gateway.
About: Calamaris parses the logfiles of a wide variety of Web proxy servers and generates reports about peak-usage, request-methods, status-report of incoming and outgoing requests, second and top-level destinations, content-types, and performance. Changes: Improved NetCache-Support and some small changes.
About: Ecartis (fomerly known as Listar) is a mailing list management program. It has a lot of similarities to Listserv (which was one of its inspirations), but has been written from scratch to support the features and abilities that the authors felt were lacking (or hard to modify/change) in some of the other list management programs available. Its main flexibility is that it is written around a plugin layer (similar to Apache), which allows you to customize and extend the manager in ways that otherwise would be hard. Changes: 0.117a contains (among other things) a fix for glibc file locking bug (yeech), a rewrite of how the subscribe/unsubscribe API works, allowing plugin modules to easily alter subscription functionality, and various performance tweaks for Extremely Large lists.
About: glFtpD is a multi-platform FTP daemon that has numerous features and is easy to setup and use. Changes: Mostly bugfixes.
About: Common C++ is a highly portable C++ class library meant primarily for the development of portable threaded applications. Support is provided both for POSIX platforms and native builds under Win32. The goal is to provide a truly common C++ framework for writing portable threaded applications that do not require a huge amount of runtime overhead to support, and hence can make C++ and threads suitable even for the development of trivial servers and applications. Changes: This (0.0.16) is the first "feature complete" release of APE, at least in the Posix source tree (the win32 tree still lags behind). The next release will likely be designated 0.1.0.
About: gtkali is a Kali client for Linux. It uses both the kalinix library (ala Jay Cotton) and the GTK+ library. Kali is a gaming network that requires a one-time fee for a lifetime membership with unlimited gameplay and chat. Changes: Added server dialog which allows selection of a Kali server from a list captured from the Kali tracker, added logging capabilities, fixed a nick completion bug, and fixed various other bugs.
About: pircd is an IRC daemon written in Perl which aims to be compatible with existing clients. It is one of the few IRC daemons with SSL support. Changes: Fixed bug with user mode handling code, cleaned house so that perl -w complains less as well as other internal changes.
About: gFTP is a free multithreaded file transfer client for *NIX based machines running X11R6 or later. It has text and GTK+ 1.2/2.x interfaces and supports the FTP, FTPS (control connection only), HTTP, HTTPS, FSP, and SSH protocols and has FTP and HTTP proxy server support. It supports UNIX, EPLF, Novell, MacOS, VMS, MVS, and NT (DOS) style directory listings, and has a bookmarks menu that allows you to quickly connect to remote sites. The code is fully internationalized and there are currently 45 translations available. Changes: Fixed some problems connecting to some ftp servers, fixed resume transfer problems, fixed some ftp proxy login problems, and fixed some crashes.
About: GNU C library (glibc) is one of the most important components of GNU Hurd and most modern Linux distributions. It is used by almost all C programs and provides the most essential program interface. Changes: Too many to list. Consult the changelog link.
About: Irssi is a modular, terminal-based IRC client with Perl scripting. Changes: DCC chat, get and send, threading connections, notify list, and bug fixes.
About: tgif is a vector-based drawing tool, with the additional benefit of being sort of a web-browser. That is, you can fetch drawings from a web server with it, and you can make objects in your picture into hotlinks to other parts of the drawing, or to other drawings accessible via HTTP. Changes: Various bugfixes, better scrolling and zooming, new visible-grid function in slideshow.
About: Samba is an software suite that provides seamless file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients. It is freely available, unlike other SMB/CIFS implementations, and allows for interoperability between Linux/Unix servers and Windows-based clients. Changes: Small signal handling bug in 2.0.1 caused a quick replacement with 2.0.2.
About: STk is a free R4RS Scheme interpreter which can access the Tk graphical package. Concretely, it can be seen as the standard Tk package where Tcl has been replaced by a Scheme interpreter. Changes: A console mode is provided as well as a new editor with Scheme fontification and indentation. Works on Win32 platforms too.
About: mp3tools is a set of utilities (mp3id3, mp3info, mp3index, and mp3gui) for managing collections of MPEG audio files. It can get information such as bitrate and play length about a file, view and alter ID3 tags, and generate completely customized listings. All of these functions can be done either from the command line or a GUI. Changes: Initial release.
About: Sketch is a vector drawing program similar to CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator. It is written almost completely in Python with some modules written in C, combining the flexibility and power of Python with the speed of C. Advanced features include gradient fills, clip masks, text along a path, blend groups, convert text to curves, and more. Changes: Rectangles may have rounded corners now, an Illustrator export filter has been added and bezier curves can be used as guides now.
About: gfontview is a GTK+ font viewer for PostScript Type 1 and TrueType fonts. It allows you to display any character or string in a particular font as well as all glyphs present in it. It supports antialiasing and kerning. It can also print font samples and font catalogs. Changes: Changed name (formerly known as gfont) and added printing support for font samples.
About: Notify lets you notify the visitors of your website by email if there are changed files on your site. Users can register themselves for groups of files they are interested in. The webmaster can define these groups and the files they contain. Notify is simple and stable. Installation instructions are provided in both English and German. Changes: First public release after a couple of months of internal use.
About: Melange is a chat server written in C++ and a bundled Java applet. It also supports direct telnet connections and includes features such as public and private channels, hidden caves, anonymous channels, and many advanced commands. An easy to use group/policy system allows you to configure the chat for various demands, and an optional MySQL backend is supported along with multi-language support. Changes: Added support for french language to the server and the java client.
About: Sendmail is a Mail Transfer Agent, which is the program that moves mail from one machine to another. Sendmail implements a general internetwork mail routing facility, featuring aliasing and forwarding, automatic routing to network gateways, and flexible configuration.
About: kcmdhcpd is a configure program for the ISC DHCP-Server for the KDE-project. Changes: A new advanced options dialog, included support for a lot of new servers and multiple servers does now work.
About: VM is a mail reader written in Emacs LISP for GNU Emacs and XEmacs. It can retrieve mail from local spool files or remotely via POP and IMAP, display and send MIME messages, thread messages, auto-sort messages into folders, and manipulate "virtual folders" of messages matching certain criteria. In Emacs versions with X support it provides an interface with toolbars, menus, and mouse-based message selection. Changes: New support for external programs for faster quoted-printable MIME encoding/decoding, MIME bugfixes, changes for GNU Emacs 20.3 MULE support, yet more documentation updates.
About: PIKT is cross-categorical, multi-purpose software for monitoring and configuring computer systems, administering networks, organizing system security, and much more. PIKT is intended primarily for system monitoring, and secondarily for configuration management, but its versatility and extensibility evoke many other wide-ranging uses. PIKT consists of a sophisticated, feature-rich file preprocessor; an innovative scripting language with unique labor-saving features; a flexible, centrally directed process scheduler; a customizing file installer; a collection of powerful command-line extensions; and other useful tools. Changes: Increased max array size to 65535 elements, fixed several Linux-specific problems (the Linux version is now on a par with the Solaris/SunOS versions), implemented some speedups and squashed some bugs.
