About: syslog-ng is a syslogd replacement supporting IPv6 and capable of transferring log messages reliably using TCP and filtering the content of messages using regular expressions. It has several macros that allow users to dynamically create target directories and files or reformat messages. Changes: This is the first version for a wider audience. It parses command line parameters, goes into the background by default, and reopens closed channels automatically. Check the homepage for compilation instructions.
About: Basilisk II is a free, portable, Open Source 68k Mac emulator. It requires a copy of a 512K or 1MB Mac ROM and a copy of MacOS 7.x or 8.x to run. Changes: A lot of work was done on the UAE code and ethernet-support for Linux has been added.
About: strace is a useful diagnositic, instructional, and debugging tool. System adminstrators, diagnosticians and troubleshooters will find it invaluable for solving problems with programs for which the source is not readily. Changes: General fixes for use with various kernels, numerous syscall updates and better network protocol support.
About: Gtuner is a gtk/gnome based radio card tuner that has support for numerous different radio cards as well as the kernel drivers. It has a large feature list including: a scriptable GUI, themable panel applet, a 7 day alarm, an almost unlimited number of channels, gnome support, full GUI configuration and much more. Changes: Added gnome support, gnome-panel support, some minor additions and various bug fixes.
About: b2ksite will transform your Netscape bookmarks file into a yahoo-like website with slashdot-like news. Changes: Added support for keeping track and displaying clicked-on URLS (a tiny first stab at collaborative filtering) as well as bugfixes and an improved RPM.
About: DocWiz allows you to easily add JavaDoc comments to your Java source code. With DocWiz, there's no need to tediously hand-format JavaDoc comments, adding tags and comment structures for each method. DocWiz provides a list of all the fields, methods, interfaces, and classes defined in a Java source file. You can click on any of these code elements to display a fill-in form for information about code elements. In addition, DocWiz shows you an icon for uncommented code segments. Changes: Updated to use Swing 1.1, now comes in two distribution packages (one with the Swing libraries, and one without), DocWiz now prompts you if the file has changed on disk, vastly improved source view pane, package name changed to com.tinyplanet as well as miscellaneous small bug and compilation fixes.
About: Squeak is an OpenSource and super-portable implementation of a multi-media capable Smalltalk-80 based object-oriented programming environment. It is written entirely in Smalltalk and has a high-performance VM, created by compiling the Smalltalk VM code into efficient and portable C code. It now uses the Self language's Morphic User Interface but still provides the original MVC GUI as well. Changes: Version 2.4 has some 380 new features and fixes. Hit the changelog link for details.
About: PIKT is cross-categorical, multi-purpose software for monitoring and configuring computer systems, administering networks, organizing system security, and much more. PIKT is intended primarily for system monitoring, and secondarily for configuration management, but its versatility and extensibility evoke many other wide-ranging uses. PIKT consists of a sophisticated, feature-rich file preprocessor; an innovative scripting language with unique labor-saving features; a flexible, centrally directed process scheduler; a customizing file installer; a collection of powerful command-line extensions; and other useful tools. Changes: Fixed bugs involving incorrect $, $-1, $-2 dat assignments for whitespace-ending input lines, in the case of error, incorrect return values for #fopen(), etc., and a duplicate hostname in the configs_samples that potentially breaks the configuration.
About: Grip is a CD player and CD ripper/MP3-encoder for the GNOME desktop. It has the ripping capabilities of cdparanoia built in, but can also use external rippers (such as cdda2wav). It also provides an automated frontend for MP3 encoders (presets for lame, bladeenc, l3enc, xingmp3enc, mp3encode, and gogo), letting you take a disc and transform it easily straight into MP3s. The Ogg Vorbis format is also supported. Internet disc lookups are supported for retrieving track information from disc database servers. Grip works with DigitalDJ to provide a unified, "computerized" version of your music collection. Changes: Along with numerous bug fixes, this version adds SMP support (for multiple simultaneous encode processes), a new config-file format, and track display in the icon window title. This release should work much better on libc5 systems.
About: Sarien is a portable Sierra AGI resource interpreter engine that allows you to play Sierra On-Line AGI version 2 and version 3 games (such as Space Quest 1 and 2, and Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards) natively in Linux, Solaris, Windows, and other platforms. Changes: Linux SVGALib support has been added.
About: Mahogany is a GUI email client for the X11/Unix, Windows, and Mac platforms. It supports a wide range of Internet protocols (IMAP4, POP3, ESMTP, NNTP) and encrypted communications using SSL, includes full MIME support, and aims to be fully standard-compliant. It allows the use of unlimited number of servers, supports filters and identities, and offers optional HTML viewing and much more. Changes: Full working IMAP and NNTP support, support for EFax.com fax mails, improved message editor, countless bug fixes and now uses gtk 1.2.1.
About: dopewars is a UNIX rewrite of the MS-DOS program of the same name, which in turn was inspired by John E. Dell's "Drug Wars" game. You have one month to buy and sell drugs on the streets of New York, the aim being first to pay off your debt to the loan shark and then to make a fortune. And if you have to shoot a few cops in the process, well... The game includes TCP networking allowing you to meet (and shoot) other human drug dealers. Computer drug dealers are currently in development. Changes: Fixed pretty major bug involved in paying off your debt.
About: FastJar is an attempt to create a much faster replacement for Sun's 'jar' utility. Instead of being written in Java, FastJar is written in C and is around 50-100 times faster than its Java counterpart on Linux 2.X systems. Changes: Added a -V flag to display version info, improved error messages/handling and added configure script for portability.
About: Mutt is a small but very powerful text-based MIME mail client. It is highly configurable, and is well-suited to the mail power user with advanced features like key bindings, keyboard macros, mail threading, regular expression searches, and a powerful pattern matching language for selecting groups of messages. Changes: New translations, typo fixes, compilation problems under digital unix fixed as well as some clean-ups and other fixes.
About: Wine is an implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix. It does not require Microsoft Windows, but can use native Windows DLLs if they are available. It provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes. Changes: Resources in built-in DLLs, threading support for FreeBSD and Solaris, lots of threading and synchronization changes, loader reorganization and new load order support as well as lots of bug fixes.
About: The xterm program is the standard terminal emulator for the X Window System. It provides DEC VT102/VT220 and Tektronix 4014 compatible terminals for programs that can't use the window system directly. If the underlying operating system supports terminal resizing capabilities (for example, the SIGWINCH signal in systems derived from 4.3bsd), xterm will use the facilities to notify programs running in the window whenever it is resized.
About: SLRN is an NNTP-based newsreader for Unix, VMS, win32, BeOS, and OS/2 systems. Unlike many other newsreaders, SLRN supports color terminals and displays a thread tree.
About: pop3check is small, fast mail checking application that queries POP3 servers for new mail. It was written in C and aims to be very configurable. Most notable features include: multiple POP3 server support, header summaries, and command execution upon notification of new mail. Changes: mailcheck has been renamed to pop3check because of some utility in Debian named mailcheck. Also, a few bugs that stopped the program from working on some mailservers have been fixed.

Changes: All include files have been upgraded to the ODBC 2.50 specification including the new types and function prototypes changes, new handle validation code makes the driver manager more resistant to handle misuse, added support for OpenVMS, added configuration switches for system wide odbc.ini file, rewritten odbc.ini file location and selection routines as well as numerous minor code fixes and cleanups.

About: The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is a tool to monitor the traffic load on network-links. MRTG generates HTML pages containing GIF/PNG images which provide a live visual representation of this traffic. Changes: Minor changes.
