About: gnokii is a multisystem tool suite for mobile phones. It provides a library to communicate with a phone hiding the communication protocol. The library handles SMS, phonebook, calendar, phone calls, and other mobile phone capabilities. It supports Nokia-FBUS mobiles, AT-capable phones (most of the mobiles), as well as Symbian-based phones. Changes: Version 0.2.5 provides more complete support for the 5110/6110 models including support for sending and receiving SMS messages.
About: wmakerconf is a GTK+ based configuration tool for Window Maker window manager. All Window Maker attributes (including the application menu and themes) can be configured, making it an alternative (or add-on) for the built in Window Maker configuration tool WPrefs. Changes: WWW theme installation was disabled in wmakerconf 2.0.
About: Samba is an software suite that provides seamless file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients. It is freely available, unlike other SMB/CIFS implementations, and allows for interoperability between Linux/Unix servers and Windows-based clients.
About: jPOS is a Java based, production grade ISO-8583 library/framework that can be used to implement financial interchanges, protocol converters, payment gateways, credit card verification clients and servers (merchant/issuer/acquirer), etc. Changes: New Swing based GUI package, added support for Postilion Switch and BASE24 TCP, channel and nested ISO 8583 Messages and sample code has been added to the standard distribution.
About: Astronomy for fun (education, science, whatever). Nightfall is an interactive application to simulate eclipsing binary stars, and to produce animated views, synthetic lightcurves and more. Takes into account the non-spherical shape of close binary stars, mutual reflection, and some other effects. Comes with documentation, on-line help, and lots of observational data of real binary stars. Supports the Gnome desktop, but doesn't require it. Changes: Added a display to show which data are currently loaded, and fixed a few bugs.
About: AbiWord is a cross-platform Open Source word processor. The goal is to make AbiWord full-featured, and remain lean. Changes: Danish localization, Dutch localization, German localization, first pass at IRIX support, more layout fixes and unix makefiles now build static and/or dynamic.
About: Mp3blaster is an interactive text-based program that plays several audio file types (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, wav, and sid). It is one of the few audio players for the text console that allows full interactive control during playback. One of its key features is the ability to compose a very flexible playlist (while playing!). It plays most MP3 formats and has full mixer support built in. Changes: Improved command-line options, windows port of mp3tag included, hopefully better handling of mp3's with errors in them, nmixer can set volumes for mixer-devices from command-line, and some more small changes.
About: StarOffice is an integrated Microsoft Office-compatible suite of productivity applications. It provides word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, charting, and graphics applications.
About: sblive is a Linux Driver for the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! which also works for the Live! Value Edition. Modules are provided for kernels 2.0.36-0.7 and 2.2.5, but for non-SMP systems only.
About: tgif is a vector-based drawing tool, with the additional benefit of being sort of a web-browser. That is, you can fetch drawings from a web server with it, and you can make objects in your picture into hotlinks to other parts of the drawing, or to other drawings accessible via HTTP. Changes: Fixed a few bugs and added a new X default, Tgif.PSFontAliases to allow fake font names in Tgif.AdditionalFonts. Using this X default, different encodings of the same PS font can be used. Also added 3 new internal commands: set_allow_interrupt(), size_named_obj_absolute(), and get_named_obj_bbox().
About: GF1 is a computer program for playing the 2 player boardgame GIPF. It has a nice and easy to use graphical user interface and you can play against another human, against the computer, or let the computer play against itself. The computer player is good enough to beat even the best human players at the moment. Changes: This version solves some annoying bugs and contains some other minor changes.
About: Mahogany is a GUI email client for the X11/Unix, Windows, and Mac platforms. It supports a wide range of Internet protocols (IMAP4, POP3, ESMTP, NNTP) and encrypted communications using SSL, includes full MIME support, and aims to be fully standard-compliant. It allows the use of unlimited number of servers, supports filters and identities, and offers optional HTML viewing and much more. Changes: All known (crash-inducing) bugs fixed, message editor/viewer improvements, clipboard support and selections added, wxGTK layout bug fixes, German/French/Spanish translations, text-search in messages, several minor usability fixes, sub-folder support fixed, addressbook fixes, TCP timeouts configurable and support for setting Reply-To: header from To: field.
About: code2html is a perlscript which converts a program source code to syntax highlighted HTML. It may be called from the command line or as a CGI script. It can also handle include commands in HTML files. Currently supports: Ada 95, C, C++, HTML, Java, JavaScript, Makefile, Pascal, Perl, SQL, AWK, M4, and Groff. Changes: The script can now be run as a CGI script as well as minor changes and bugfixes.
About: This is a set of fault tolerant search utilities. whichman allows you to search for man pages that match approximately the specified search key. ftff is a fault tolerant file find utility which is similar to the 'find' command but fault tolerant. ftwhich is a fault tolerant version for the 'which' command. The error tolerant approximate string match is based on the Levenshtein Distance between two strings. Changes: Better error handling if the PATH contains garbage values.
About: The Coral Tree Library Set includes modules for basic operating system abstractions, general purpose templates and classes, well behaved application modules, platform independent builder, thread abstraction, network abstractions, event/window system abstraction, and a widget set for the event/window system abstraction. The library set now also includes the distributed shared memory modules. Changes: Significant infrastructure changes in support of the pending release of ctDSM, the distributed shared memory related modules. This has impact on the network and threading code. It also has bugfixes, build process cleanups and updated documentation.
About: ctGUI is the window system abstraction and associated widget sets in the Coral Tree Library Set. The window system abstraction currently supports X/OpenGL, X/Xlib, Win32/OpenGL, and Win32/GDI (window & event system/drawing mechanism). ctGUI (aka LEWDS and EW/WDS/IWS) provides yet another approach in addition to the approaches taken by Qt, gtk, MFC, etc. Changes: Minor adaptations to changes in the rest of Coral.
About: Ppower, short for 'Penguin Power', is a piece of software for controlling x10 home automation equipment connected to the computer via a cm11a interface. It can be used to turn things on and off and lights dim and bright. In addition to controlling the x10 devices, it can receive commands sent to the x10 devices from other sources such as an x10 remote transceiver and execute commands on your system in response. Changes: First announcement.
About: GTKWave is a fully featured GTK+ v1.2 based wave viewer for Unix and Win32 which can view industry standard VCD/EVCD files as well as Synopsys (EPIC) TimeMill and LXT format files. Changes: Lots of minor bugfixes, more RC variables have been added to make GTKWave even more configurable, and font handling has been improved in the postscript driver.
About: id3tool is a command line editor for ID3v1 format tags, commonly used on MP3 files. It runs on Posix and Win32 based systems. Changes: First release.
