About: ImageMagick (TM) is a package for the automated and interative manipulation of images. It supports the display and interactive manipulation of images when used with the X Window System. Although the software is copyrighted by ImageMagick Studio, it is available for free and can be redistributed without fee. ImageMagick may be used as a component of both open source and proprietary applications. ImageMagick compiles and runs under Unix, Linux, Windows '95 and later, Apple MacOS, and Compaq VMS. Binary packages are available for most operating systems. Application programming interfaces (APIs) are provided to support development of image processing applications in the C, C++, and Perl languages.
About: Vim is an almost fully-compatible version of the Unix editor Vi. Many new features have been added including multi-level undo, syntax highlighting, commandline history, online help, filename completion, and block operations. It is descended from the vi clone "stevie" and runs on many systems, including Unix, MS Windows, OS/2, Macintosh, VMS, and Amiga.
About: Websqlbrowse is a web-based SQL database browser. Browses may be restricted and customized, and records may be added, edited, or deleted. Websqlbrowse currently works only with MySQL. While it is not currently in active development, it's still a fast, lightweight DB interface that is fairly easy to set up and is currently in use by quite a few people around the globe. About: id3tool is a command line editor for ID3v1 format tags, commonly used on MP3 files. It runs on Posix and Win32 based systems. Changes: Fixed a bug that could corrupt mp3 files. Upgrading from 1.0b1 is highly recommended.
About: Mmucl is an extremely flexible mud client written in Tcl that provides a number of different interfaces. The graphical interfaces use GTK and Tk. Changes: Minor fixes, tweaks, and documentation updates. Added an option to deal with strange EOL's.
About: Gnometoaster is a full CD creation suite for X11 and GNOME. It can be used to copy and create data, audio, and mixed mode CDs on the fly or with precaching in both TAO and DAO mode. Data tracks can easily be created with the built-in file manager. GNOME drag-and-drop is supported throughout the program. Gnometoaster can also write MP3 files on the fly, is fully multisession capable, and can be used to encode all sorts of filetypes directly from audio audio tracks on a CD. Changes: Added CD change detection, various bugfixes, and it now refers to CDs using their CDDB index
About: Apsfilter is a magic printfilter, allowing you to print different document types "automagically" without having to convert them manually into something which is understood by your printer. Apsfilter is a mature and powerful printing solution for any flavor of Unix running lpd or LPRng. It supports the latest GhostScript version and 3rd-party printer drivers (such as hpijs, ijs, hpdj, pcl3, and gimp-print). It autodetects lots of file, archive, and compression types. It supports printing on local as well as on Appletalk, Unix, and Windows remote printers. General and "per printer-queue" based config files allow you to configure the printer for your needs. The lpr command line options allow you to change printing parameters like print quality, orientation, duplex mode, etc. "on the fly" without having to edit any config file. A SETUP script helps you to test various supported ghostscript drivers prior installation, makes the necessary entries in /etc/printcap, creates spool directories, and creates apsfilter default config files as needed. A handbook in HTML is available. Several tools are also included: "aps2file" allows you to print to a file via apsfilter, "apspreview" previews files as generated by apsfilter using gv and friends, and "apsfilter-bug" assists you in doing bug and problem reports.
About: JCheckLinks a Java app that does hyperlink validation. It is multi-threaded, has an include/exclude list to determine which URLs will be harvested for more links and which will be only checked with a HEAD request, and adheres to the Robots Exclusion Protocol (/robots.txt). Changes: Major improvements to report generator, now released under the GPL.
About: tkdiff is a graphical diff and merge tool that runs under Unix and Windows. Changes: General cleanup
About: August is a free html editor for the UNIX platform. It is a non- wysiwyg editor, like Aswedit or Hotdog, and is written with the Tcl/TK scripting language and graphical toolkit. Changes: Added a "Create table cells" dialog, improved "Font style" dialog, set Netscape path in options, removed basic structure button and replaced it with a justify button, bugfixes.
About: LinPopUp is a GTK port of Winpopup, running over Samba. It permits communication with a Windows-running computer that runs Winpopup, sending or receiving messages. Please note that LinPopUp is not only a port, as it includes several enhanced features like it doesn't need to run permanently, full message base management, can be run minimized, full message editor capabilities, clipboard cut&paste, documentation, etc. Changes: Added support for GTK+ 1.2.3
About: astime is an analogue clock for X windows. It shows the current time, the date and the day of the week. astime should run anywhere on Unix-like systems in principle but was so far tested on Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris only. The command-line options allow to customize colors of every element of the display. Changes: Bugfix release.
About: The DECnet for Linux project aims to provide the kernel-level socket layer and a set of applications to allow Linux systems to participate in a DECnet phase IV network. It currently has an application library (suitable for building DECnet functionality into X11R6), file and terminal access. Changes: This release contains the first stab at librms - a library to allow programmers on Linux systems to access RMS files on VMS machines. Also there are plenty of the usual bug fixes and minor enhancements.
About: adns is a replacement resolver library. Its programming interface is at once easier to use and more powerful than the standard libresolv. For example, responses are automatically decoded into native C formats, and it is possible to launch many queries and once and deal with the responses asynchronously. Changes: Portability fixes for compilation on various platforms.
About: GNU binutils work mostly behind the scenes of Linux development, largely because GNU make and the GCC frontend does so many things automatically. Utilities include: ld as nm objdump objcopy nm ar ranlib strip c filt size addr2line and dlltool.
About: Pioneers is a faithful Gtk2 translation of the excellent board game "Settlers of Catan", with server-client multiplayer, computer players, and support for the changes made in the Seafarers of Catan expansion to the original board game. Changes: In release 0.3.0, the trading was been completely reimplemented to allow both maritime and domestic trading to be performed in the one interface. Version 0.3.1 is a bug fix release.
About: The NetPacket::* bundle of modules disassemble network packets into a Perl hash for various Internet protocols. There are hooks for assembly of packets, but they have not been implemented in this version. At present, decoding for the following protocols has been implemented: Ethernet, ARP, ICMP, IGMP, IP, UDP, TCP. Changes: Initial version.
