 by N/A - Mon, May 24th 1999 17:17 UTC

About: Wine is an implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix. It does not require Microsoft Windows, but can use native Windows DLLs if they are available. It provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes.

Changes: Printing improvements, X input and multimedia timers moved to service thread, more threading and locking fixes and lots of bug fixes.

 pcmcia-cs 3.0.10
 by N/A - Mon, May 24th 1999 17:17 UTC

About: Card Services for Linux is a complete PCMCIA or PC Card support package. It includes a set of loadable kernel modules that implement a version of the Card Services applications program interface, a set of client drivers for specific cards, and a card manager daemon that can respond to card insertion and removal events, loading and unloading drivers on demand. It supports hot swapping of most card types, so cards can be safely inserted and ejected at any time.

Changes: Updated for 2.3.1 kernel wait queue changes, updated wavelan_cs and ibmtr_cs drivers, network script changed to undo NFS mounts in reverse order, and to avoid dhcpd blocking problems. Support added for the TI 1225 CardBus bridge, and more sanity checks added to CardBus expansion ROM validation. Cleaned up 3c589_cs driver. Tweaked configure script for bash-2.0. Fixed all 16-bit network clients to deal with 2.2.x restrictions on when devices can be unregistered. Much of this seems to deal with 2.2.x and 2.3.x kernel changes.
