About: FunwebChatterList are 3 scripts (2 Perl, 1 Shell) which use Lynx to fetch the list of current chatters from the FunWeb server http://funweb.de and parses them for further use. Changes: Initial release.
About: Wine is an implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix. It does not require Microsoft Windows, but can use native Windows DLLs if they are available. It provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes. Changes: Printing improvements, X input and multimedia timers moved to service thread, more threading and locking fixes and lots of bug fixes.
About: Card Services for Linux is a complete PCMCIA or PC Card support package. It includes a set of loadable kernel modules that implement a version of the Card Services applications program interface, a set of client drivers for specific cards, and a card manager daemon that can respond to card insertion and removal events, loading and unloading drivers on demand. It supports hot swapping of most card types, so cards can be safely inserted and ejected at any time. Changes: Updated for 2.3.1 kernel wait queue changes, updated wavelan_cs and ibmtr_cs drivers, network script changed to undo NFS mounts in reverse order, and to avoid dhcpd blocking problems. Support added for the TI 1225 CardBus bridge, and more sanity checks added to CardBus expansion ROM validation. Cleaned up 3c589_cs driver. Tweaked configure script for bash-2.0. Fixed all 16-bit network clients to deal with 2.2.x restrictions on when devices can be unregistered. Much of this seems to deal with 2.2.x and 2.3.x kernel changes.
About: tgif is a vector-based drawing tool, with the additional benefit of being sort of a web-browser. That is, you can fetch drawings from a web server with it, and you can make objects in your picture into hotlinks to other parts of the drawing, or to other drawings accessible via HTTP. Changes: Fixed a bug that importing a XBM/XPM/GIF file changes the working directory.
About: Taper is a tape backup and restore program that provides a friendly user interface to allow backing/restoring files to a tape drive. Alternatively, files can be backed up to hard disk files. Selecting files for backup and restore is very similar to the Midnight Commander interface and allows easy traversal of directories. Recursively selected directories are supported. Incremental backup and automatic most recent restore are defaults settings. SCSI, ftape, zftape, and removable drives are supported.
About: bgcheck is a process monitor for Linux written in perl that can be a very useful tool for administrators used to limit the amount of background processes that each user can run. Changes: Fixed ftpd spawn detection to work better and added support for long usernames.
About: phpMyAdmin is a tool intended to handle the administration of MySQL over the Web. It can create, rename, and drop databases, create/drop/alter tables, delete/edit/add fields, execute any SQL statement, manage keys on fields, create dumps of tables and databases, export/import CSV data, and administrate one single database and multiple MySQL servers. Changes: Some minor issues with 2.0.0 have been fixed and two new features were added: you can now create multi-column primary keys on existing tables and add more than one field at once to a table.
About: Lynx is a fully-featured WWW client for users running cursor-addressable, character-cell display devices (e.g., vt100 terminals, terminal emulators running on PCs or Macs, or any other character-cell display). It will display HTML documents containing links to files on the local system, as well as files on remote systems running HTTP, HTTPS, gopher, FTP, WAIS, NNTP, finger, or cso/ph/qi servers, and services accessible via logins to telnet, tn3270, or rlogin accounts.
About: tavrasm is an assembler for the Atmel AVR series of microcontrollers. It compiles code written for Atmels AVR DOS assembler. Other features include macros in macros, 'C' escape characters in char/string literals. Changes: Added support for PC (program counter), EC (EEPROM counter) and DC (Data counter).
About: ChBg is for changing desktop backgrounds in a given period. It can render images with 10 modes (such as tiled, centered, scaled, etc.). It uses Imlib1, Imlib2, or gdk_pixbuf for loading images, so it supports many image formats. ChBg has a windowed setup program, is able to load setup files, can be used as slideshow picture previewer in its own window or as a desktop background, and can be used as screensaver or as an xscreensaver hack. It has a dialog for fast previewing of pictures and very usable thumbnail previews. Changes: Added picture name drop to picture list, added toolbar to setup window, added preview window to picture selection dialog, added support for xscreensaver, preview menu field in picture list for previewing listed pictures, and lot of bug fixes and changes.
About: gnome-python is a set of interfaces to gnome-libs. It also contains a copy of PyGTK, so you don't have to worry about gnome-python getting out of sync with your copy of PyGTK. The bindings cover almost all of the APIs in gnome-libs. Changes: This version contains the threading fixes in pygtk-0.6.1. It also fixes the problem with using the gnome.applet module with the GnomeCanvas widget. The gnome-python/themes bug has been found, and will be fixed for a later version.
About: PyGTK is a set of Python bindings for the GTK widget set. It provides an object oriented interface that is slightly higher level than the C one. It automatically does all the type casting and reference counting that you normally would have to do with the C API. Changes: This version fixes some serious bugs related to threading in python and the GtkInputFactory object.
About: Qvwm is a Windows 95 like window manager for the X Window System. It allows Windows 95/NT users to use the X Window System without a hassle and X Window System users to use Windows 95 without a hassle. Changes: Speed up titlebar gradation, same appearance of the taskbar with Windows98, ability to put an image in one of 9 positions in the desktop, same action of moving shortcut icons with Windows98 plus a ton of bug fixes and many other added features. QVWM is being rewritting with libqv for the 2.0 release.
About: Gnometoaster is a full CD creation suite for X11 and GNOME. It can be used to copy and create data, audio, and mixed mode CDs on the fly or with precaching in both TAO and DAO mode. Data tracks can easily be created with the built-in file manager. GNOME drag-and-drop is supported throughout the program. Gnometoaster can also write MP3 files on the fly, is fully multisession capable, and can be used to encode all sorts of filetypes directly from audio audio tracks on a CD. Changes: Fixed a nasty bug occurring when two CDs containing audiotracks were inserted into two cdrom drives at the same time. This made Gnometoaster crash.
About: XVoice enables speech to text translation for many X applications. XVoice will accept continuous speech input from IBM's ViaVoice SDK for Linux, and then re-target the resulting text at many X applications. It provides a GUI, which can be voice controlled, to select the target application, and control dictation and commands. Changes: Fixed some compilation problems on certain systems, added better punctuation and paragraph handling and added rudimentary correction support.
About: Gnofin is a light-weight personal finance application for GNOME. It is designed with simplicity and functionality in mind. Features include multilevel undo and redo, cut/copy/paste, QIF and CBB import, and support for mixed local and foreign currency accounts. Changes: This version includes support for transfers between accounts and many bugs were fixed.
