About: HTML PLAIN is a "HTML Preprocessor Lacking An Interesting Name". Symbolic names instead of filenames allows files to be moved around without breaking links. Templates allow easy customization and changes of the layout. Tags can be redefined for a better structure of the document. Beginners can use one of the given templates and do not have to use any markup language at all. Experts can write their own Perl macros in order to get access to metadata and more flexibility. Changes: A bugfix in the header/footer inclusion. Another bugfix for macros.
About: Diablo is a backbone news transit system, designed to replace INND on backbone machines. The transit part of Diablo is well established and should work flawlessly. Note that diablo now has a reader part, since version 1.15. Changes: This is a maintenance release which fixes a few minor bugs and documents reader-server transferoperations a little more.
About: Lynx is a fully-featured WWW client for users running cursor-addressable, character-cell display devices (e.g., vt100 terminals, terminal emulators running on PCs or Macs, or any other character-cell display). It will display HTML documents containing links to files on the local system, as well as files on remote systems running HTTP, HTTPS, gopher, FTP, WAIS, NNTP, finger, or cso/ph/qi servers, and services accessible via logins to telnet, tn3270, or rlogin accounts.
About: FSViewer is a FileViewer lookalike for Window Maker. It is written in C using the WINGs library.
About: Tac is a pure Tcl version of AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). The Tac client began its life as a small add-on program distributed with TiK, the Tcl/Tk client. Tac has only a few of the features found in native Windows and Macintosh clients. It is easy for users to add features to Tac using Tcl. Tac is meant to give users with only console access the ability to use AOL Instant Messenger. Changes: New error codes for directory lookup errors, rudimentary directory lookup features in progress, defchat package now uses package letter 'h', away messages use toc_set_away function, so that the 'available' flag on the server will be set.
About: XML Security Suite will push the security further by introducing new security features such as digital signature, element-wise encryption, and access control that are beyond the capability of the transport-level security protocol such as SSL. Changes: XML Security Suite provide reference implementations of DOMHASH, a proposed canonicalized digest value for XML document, and its two sample applications. DOMHASH can be a basis for XML digital signature that is being discussed in both IETF and W3C.
About: Speech for Java is a Java programming interface for incorporating IBM's ViaVoice speech technology into user interfaces. Speech for Java supports voice command recognition, dictation, and text-to-speech synthesis, based on IBM's ViaVoice technology. Changes: Linux Speech for Java is an initial implementation of most of the v1.0 of the Java Speech API
About: XML Parser for Java is a validating XML parser written in 100% pure Java. The package (com.ibm.xml.parser) contains classes and methods for parsing, generating, manipulating, and validating XML documents. It closely conforms to the XML 1.0 recommendation. Changes: New version contains modified license with no termination clause, multiple parser objects can now be active at once, DOM implementation classes are no longer final and this update contains numerous bug fixes.
About: The HTML::Template module attempts to make using HTML templates simple and natural. It extends standard HTML with a few new tags for variables, loops, if/else blocks and includes. A file written with HTML and these new tags is called a template. Using this module you fill in the values for the variables and loops declared in the template. This allows you to seperate design (the HTML) from the data, which you generate in the Perl script. While there are many other HTML template systems available, this module is simple and fast. It doesn't try to reinvent Perl CGI, it just augments HTML with a few new and very useful abilities. Changes: First Release
About: XawTV is a simple Xaw-based TV program which uses the bttv driver or video4linux. It also contains various command-line utilities for grabbing images and AVI movies, tuning in TV stations, etc. Changes: fbtv: added -q switch, started lirc support , changed float to double for X resources, fixed the radio programs, webcam bugfix.
About: glFtpD is a multi-platform FTP daemon that has numerous features and is easy to setup and use.
About: Pavuk is a Web grabber with an optional GTK GUI, and optional support for downloading with multiple threads. It supports the HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTP via SSL, and Gopher protocols, as well as HTTP GET, and POST requests. It is capable of filling HTML forms while downloading HTML trees, and lets you mirror Web documents for local browsing. You can even synchronize changes to these documents. Recent versions also support processing of Javascript patterns in HTML pages. Pavuk have JavaScript bindings that allow writing of own scripts to perform special tasks.
About: syslog-ng is a syslogd replacement supporting IPv6 and capable of transferring log messages reliably using TCP and filtering the content of messages using regular expressions. It has several macros that allow users to dynamically create target directories and files or reformat messages. Changes: Bugfixes, and sync() option added.
About: wxWidgets is a cross-platform C++ GUI library, offering classes for all common GUI controls as well as a comprehensive set of helper classes for most common application tasks, ranging from networking to HTML display and image manipulation. wxWidgets uses native widgets on all platforms whenever possible and fills missing gaps on some platforms using generic controls written with wxWidgets itself. Changes: Many bugfixes and clean-ups. The first beta of MacOS port is also available.
About: libxml-perl is a collection of smaller Perl modules, scripts, and documents for working with XML in Perl. libxml-perl software works in combination with XML::Parser, PerlSAX, XML::DOM, XML::Grove and others. Changes: Renamed from `libxml', added ``Using PerlSAX'' doc and examples, added a Perl XML module list organized by category.
About: Arla is a free AFS client and server implementation. The main goal is to make a fully functional client with all capabilities of normal AFS. Other implemented things are all the normal management tools and a server. Changes: Fixed bug when overwriting volume name in `fs setquota', timeout bug fix and several other bug fixes.
About: Gnometoaster is a full CD creation suite for X11 and GNOME. It can be used to copy and create data, audio, and mixed mode CDs on the fly or with precaching in both TAO and DAO mode. Data tracks can easily be created with the built-in file manager. GNOME drag-and-drop is supported throughout the program. Gnometoaster can also write MP3 files on the fly, is fully multisession capable, and can be used to encode all sorts of filetypes directly from audio audio tracks on a CD. Changes: Preliminary wav file support using sox, various bugfixes.
About: Ptester is a simple HTTP benchmarking tool that can be used to stress test web servers. It was originally written to be distributed together with Phttpd, but has now been released as a separate program, and slightly updated to be more portable. Changes: Extracted from Phttpd, modified to use Pthreads instead of Solaris Threads, ported to Solaris 7, Digital Unix, and Linux. A bug in the calculation of transmission times when using keepalives was fixed.
About: EPIwm is a window manager born out of a school project. It is intended to be small, fast, and configurable while maintaining a large feature set. Changes: Memory problems fixed, and titlebar buttons can now be an image.
About: KMid is an X11 / KDE based midi player for Linux and FreeBSD. It displays the text of karaoke files and changes its colour as it is being played so that the tune can be easily followed. KMid uses /dev/sequencer as output device supporting external synths, AWE , FM and GUS cards. This application is included in the kdemultimedia package. Changes: Many fixes, mainly for a problem that made KMid play midi files with a random tempo on some systems. It also contains for 2.2.x kernels, a fix for AWE devices that where the pitch was too high, etc. If you have kdemultimedia from KDE 1.1.1 you donīt need to download this.

About: mod_ssl provides provides strong cryptography for the Apache 1.3 webserver via the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3) and Transport Layer Security (TLS v1). It is based on the SSL/TLS toolkit OpenSSL and supports all SSL/TLS related functionality, including RSA and DSA/DH cipher support, X.509 CRL checking, etc. Additionally it provides special Apache related facilities like DBM and shared memory based inter-process SSL session caching. per-URL SSL session renegotiations, DSO support, etc. Changes: This major version introduces support for Diffie-Hellman/DSA, Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL) and OpenSSL version 0.9.3.

About: VIPEC is an network analyser for electrical networks. It takes a description of an electrical network, and performs a simulation of the circuit response in the frequency domain. Output is in the form of 2-port parameters, and can be plotted on a grid and in Smithchart format. VIPEC supports various lumped circuit elements, as well as elements like transmission lines and 2-port data files. Changes: Added support for lossy lines and stripline, implemented cursors on the graphs, a "Save as" menu has been added to the "File" menu, updates to the About dialog and some documentation, Fixed some bugs in the code and in the component models. It is meant to be a tool for those who want to generate digital terrain models for use in raytracing or other simulations. About: GNU Midnight Commander is a text-mode full-screen file manager. It uses a two panel interface and a subshell for command execution. It includes an internal editor with syntax highlighting and an internal viewer with support for binary files. Also included is Virtual Filesystem (VFS), that allows files on remote systems (e.g. FTP servers) and files inside archives to be manipulated like real files.
About: GNU C library (glibc) is one of the most important components of GNU Hurd and most modern Linux distributions. It is used by almost all C programs and provides the most essential program interface. Changes: glibc 2.1.1 is a bug fix and maintenance release.
About: Apsfilter is a magic printfilter, allowing you to print different document types "automagically" without having to convert them manually into something which is understood by your printer. Apsfilter is a mature and powerful printing solution for any flavor of Unix running lpd or LPRng. It supports the latest GhostScript version and 3rd-party printer drivers (such as hpijs, ijs, hpdj, pcl3, and gimp-print). It autodetects lots of file, archive, and compression types. It supports printing on local as well as on Appletalk, Unix, and Windows remote printers. General and "per printer-queue" based config files allow you to configure the printer for your needs. The lpr command line options allow you to change printing parameters like print quality, orientation, duplex mode, etc. "on the fly" without having to edit any config file. A SETUP script helps you to test various supported ghostscript drivers prior installation, makes the necessary entries in /etc/printcap, creates spool directories, and creates apsfilter default config files as needed. A handbook in HTML is available. Several tools are also included: "aps2file" allows you to print to a file via apsfilter, "apspreview" previews files as generated by apsfilter using gv and friends, and "apsfilter-bug" assists you in doing bug and problem reports.
About: xps dynamically displays in an X Window the Unix processes as a tree or forest, the roots on the left and the leaf processes on the right. The status of each process (running, sleeping, stopped, etc.) can be indicated by a color. Different users appear as different colors. Process selection can be made per user, all users or through a regular expression pattern. A process can be selected to show ps information or to send the process a signal. Changes: fixed shotcut keys interfering with color menu input areas, BSDI and perhaps NetBSD were using kvm_close() too often, Better detection of X libraries needed (e.g. ICE, SM), more persistent colors for BSDI.
About: cdctl is a program similar to eject. Like eject, it can eject your CD-ROM/DVD drive, but it does a whole lot more. Cdctl provides a user interface to the 2.2 kernel's uniform cdrom driver's ioctl calls, and most 2.0 cdrom drivers (ide-cd and scsi). Cdctl is also capable of doing everything a regular console cd player can as well as drive capability interrogation, autoeject setting, maximum/mininum speed cap setting, disc-changer disc selection, disc status readback, MCN querying, table of contents header readback, track header readback, and much more. Changes: Updated documentation to tell users about the CDROM environment variable, some changes according to user feedback. Added technical description of how cdctl does its thing.
About: asp2php converts WWW Active Server Pages (ASP) files that run on the Microsoft IIS Web Server into PHP pages to run on Apache. Changes: General bug fixes. Version 0.68 comes with full source code.
