About: nss_ldap is an RFC 2307-compliant set of C library extensions which allows X.500 and LDAP directory servers to be used as a primary source of aliases, ethers, groups, hosts, networks, protocol, users, RPCs, services and shadow passwords (instead of or in addition to using flat files or NIS). Changes: Fixed link depenencies; RPM build support; implemented getgroupsbymember() API for Solaris; glibc 2.1 NSS support.
About: pam_ldap is a pam/ldap module that supports password changes, V2 clients, Netscapes SSL, ypldapd, Netscape Directory Server password policies, access authorization, crypted hashes, etc. Changes: Fixed link dependencies; included patches for RPM builds; OpenLDAP API support; SSL patches.
About: Ypldapd is a Network Information Service (NIS) server which uses LDAP as its information source. Using ypldapd, existing NIS clients can transparently use LDAP to resolve user, group and host information. Enterprises can thus realize the benefits of LDAP, such as its distribution and scalability, without ugprading clients. Used in conjunction with LDAP server technologies such as Netscape's Directory Server, ypldapd can provide single sign on to both NT and UNIX clients. Changes: Groups may include uniqueMembers as well as memberUids; the prefix used for userPasswords is configurable; additional search criteria may be specified at runtime; naming contexts have changed to be compatible with those in rfc2307bis/Solaris 8; empty passwords in the directory are now correctly presented.
About: NetInfo is a directory service that was developed at NeXT Computer, Inc. Until LDAP, it was one of the only extensible, hierarchical, attribute-value directory services that could be used for managing NIS information. NetInfo was architected by the same person that designed NIS. Our port of Apple's Darwin NetInfo code includes an nss_netinfo module which integrates NetInfo with the GNU C Library, for transparent resolution of users, hosts, etc. Changes: Some fixes for glibc2.1 compat; Added nss_netinfo module; Fixed ni{dump, load} to deal with non-4.4BSD passwd file format.
About: AlsaPlayer is a new PCM player written with the ALSA sound system in mind. It also includes support for JACK, OSS, NAS, and ESD. About: Moodss is a modular monitoring application, which supports operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows, etc.), databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, ODBC, etc.), networking (SNMP, Apache, etc.), and any device or process for which a module can be developed (in Tcl, Python, Perl, Java, and C). An intuitive GUI with full drag'n'drop support allows the construction of dashboards with graphs, pie charts, etc., while the thresholds functionality includes emails and user defined scripts. Monitored data can be archived in a SQL database by both the GUI and the companion daemon, so that complete history over time can be made available from Web pages or common spreadsheet software. It can even be used for future behavior prediction or capacity planning, from the included predictor tool, based on powerful statistical methods and artificial neural networks. Changes: Added color interface to canvas in preferences dialog box, built and successfully tested on Redhat 6.0, also with latest Tktable 2.5, BLT 2.4i and Tcl/Tk 8.1.1 versions.
About: asmon is a wharfable/dockable application for Linux and Solaris that displays meters detailing CPU, memory, swap, and X mem usage. Also included the exact numbers for load average, mem, swap, and X. Developed to use very little CPU time itself. Changes: Code ported to Solaris and some bugfixes
About: MP3c is a curses-based audio CD-to-MP3/OGG converter with CDDB support. It can be used in an interactive menu environment or a batch mode which lets you encode automatically. MP3c tries to find the most useful information in a CDDB entry, and even recognizes sampler CDs correctly. It is very configurable and can be used with every available encoder, ripper, and tag editor. It is available in different languages (currently English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, and German). Changes: Initial release. Works stable for me, but still in development (will add more features)
About: The GIMP Imagemap plug-in enables The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) to create clickable imagemaps in CSIM, CERN or NCSA format. Changes: Added 'Most recently used' list in file menu, two new HTML 4.0 tags (ONFOCUS ONBLUR), option to make image gray to allow for easier editing of colored images, drag and drop support for links, support to rescale objects after rescaling the image, and rectangular selection of objects.
About: The GlobeCom Jukebox is a music jukebox with integrated CDDB-aware ripping and groupware functionality. It is completely configurable from the Web interface, seamlessly integrates ripping from CD to encoded MP3, and supports grouping of songs, peak adjustment, account management for access, streaming of jukebox or single song, themability, album handling, and online help. Changes: Minor bugfixes, see changelog. A new development version is also available.

It features a multiple file editor, multiple toolbars, custom menus, image and thumbnail dialogs, open from the Web, CSS dialogs, PHP, HTML, Java, C, and XML support, external program integration (tidy, weblint, make, javac), and lots of wizards. Changes: A major bugfix for all Gtk-1.2.0 and Gtk-1.2.1 users, some other annoying bugfixes, better packaging and some user interface enhancements.
About: Zircon is a feature rich IRC client written in the tcl/tk programming language. It provides an easy to use GUI for IRC and is highly configurable. Zircon will run on any system that has a tcl/tk interpeter (i.e. MacOS and Windows as well as UNIX)
About: GNU binutils work mostly behind the scenes of Linux development, largely because GNU make and the GCC frontend does so many things automatically. Utilities include: ld as nm objdump objcopy nm ar ranlib strip c filt size addr2line and dlltool.
About: Fetchmail is a free, full-featured, robust, well-documented remote-mail retrieval and forwarding utility intended to be used over on-demand TCP/IP links (such as SLIP or PPP connections). It supports every remote-mail protocol now in use on the Internet: POP2, POP3, RPOP, APOP, KPOP, all flavors of IMAP, and ESMTP ETRN, ODMR, SMTP, LMTP, and local delivery agents. Changes: Merged in official OpenBSD port patches, added Spanish and German descriptions to spec, moved MIME decoding earlier to avoid messing with header length after offsets have been calculated, make the .fetchmail_pid lockfile with O_EXCL, new FAQ item R8 on startup failures under Red Hat 6.0 and Debian, IMAP now skips the authorization step on a PREAUTH response and fix bug in defaulting of IMAP expunge period with non-LOGIN auth modes.
About: Coda is a distributed filesystem with novel features such as disconnected operation and server replication. Changes: Features: multiple servers on the same machine, cross-directory rename resolution. About: PIKT is cross-categorical, multi-purpose software for monitoring and configuring computer systems, administering networks, organizing system security, and much more. PIKT is intended primarily for system monitoring, and secondarily for configuration management, but its versatility and extensibility evoke many other wide-ranging uses. PIKT consists of a sophisticated, feature-rich file preprocessor; an innovative scripting language with unique labor-saving features; a flexible, centrally directed process scheduler; a customizing file installer; a collection of powerful command-line extensions; and other useful tools. Changes: Added a new piktc option, -X, for executing PIKT scripts remotely but without waiting for any response from the client(s). This complements the earlier -x, execute-with-wait option. The -X option was tricky to implement and needs widely varied testing.
About: PHP is a widely-used Open Source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. Its syntax draws upon C, Java, and Perl, and is easy to learn. PHP runs on many different platforms and can be used as a standalone executable or as a module under a variety of Web servers. It has excellent support for databases, XML, LDAP, IMAP, Java, various Internet protocols, and general data manipulation, and is extensible via its powerful API. It is actively developed and supported by a talented and energetic international team. Numerous Open Source and commercial PHP-based application packages are available. Changes: Many more bug fixes, including the last of the fsockopen() and URL fopen() problems, we hope. The dbm database abstraction layer had the mode flag for dba_open() brought into line with dbm_open(), which means "w" will not create a non-existent database (use "c" instead). The documentation has also been moved into its own repository, and the generated HTML documentation is included in the tar.gz instead of the SGML source.
About: gentoo is a file manager written in C. It uses the GTK+ toolkit, and the two-pane concept, somewhat inspired by DOpus. gentoo strives to be very configurable, and also to let you do all configuration from a GUI within the program itself. Using advanced file typing and styling systems, gentoo determines how to display files in its listings, and also how to act on them. The package includes a set of over 120 unique handcrafted icons, for many different types of files. Changes: Plenty of bugfixes, of course... Also reimplemented a couple of things that got lost in the big style-system-rewrite back in 0.11.7 (icon column sorting, for example). and added a couple of new features. You can now map commands to mouse button clicks in panes, which is nifty. The history system has been rewritten too, and now sports browser-esque Back and Forward navigation buttons. All in all, a well-needed update.
About: Common C++ is a highly portable C++ class library meant primarily for the development of portable threaded applications. Support is provided both for POSIX platforms and native builds under Win32. The goal is to provide a truly common C++ framework for writing portable threaded applications that do not require a huge amount of runtime overhead to support, and hence can make C++ and threads suitable even for the development of trivial servers and applications. Changes: APE 1.0 release candidate 1 with complete kdoc generated documentation. Many clearifications were made to the APE class structure for a 1.0 release including a rewrite of threaded signal support for Posix (pthread) systems and many win32 changes for implementing pthread style deferred termination correctly. The posix APE interfaces are now frozen for the 1.0 release.
