About: GeneWeb is a system for people who want to publish their genealogy data on the Web. It can also be used locally (not connected on the net) as a normal genealogy program. It uses very efficient techniques of relationship and consanguinity computing, speaks several languages, and can run in conjunction with an existing Web server (CGI) or standalone using its own internal server.
About: The mod_auth_ldap module allows Apache to authenticate users against an LDAP directory containing clear text, encrypted or scheme prefixed passwords. Changes: Added new options in binding to the directory, checking the password and controlling the search scope.
About: snes9express is a graphical front-end for snes9x, the SNES game console emulator. Changes: Snes9express no longer closes when it runs snes9x, instead it hides and returns when snes9x has been closed. Fixed the problems reguarding ESD.
About: TAON (The Art Of Noise) is a small but fancy sound editor with plugin support. It reads WAV (RAW and PCM) files, includes some built-in effects, and features a plugin API. A SID reader/generator plugin is included. Changes: Initial release.
About: Coin is an implementation of Open Inventor. Open Inventor is the de facto standard API for retained-mode 3D graphics programming. Open Inventor has a highly extensible design, and has been designed to allow for rapid development of highly interactive 3D graphics applications in the fields of CAD, engineering, scientific computing, simulation, VRML, and visualization. Changes: Initial release.
About: gFTP is a free multithreaded file transfer client for *NIX based machines running X11R6 or later. It has text and GTK+ 1.2/2.x interfaces and supports the FTP, FTPS (control connection only), HTTP, HTTPS, FSP, and SSH protocols and has FTP and HTTP proxy server support. It supports UNIX, EPLF, Novell, MacOS, VMS, MVS, and NT (DOS) style directory listings, and has a bookmarks menu that allows you to quickly connect to remote sites. The code is fully internationalized and there are currently 45 translations available. Changes: Several bugs fixes and stability issues resolved.
About: Powertweak-Linux is a tool to tune your system to its optimal performance settings. It started life as the replacement for the now obsolete kernel option 'tune PCI bridges', and has been extended to provide more features and support more chipsets. It can also tune network/filesystem performance using /proc/sys entries, disk elevator settings, and x86 CPU registers (needs 2.2.18 or 2.4.0test kernel), CDROM speeds, hdparm type features, and Sony VAIO backlight. It has both a GTK GUI and a text-based lister. Changes: Initial release.
About: erwin is a simple html editor based on GTK2. Changes: Initial release, still somewhat limited.
About: Grip is a CD player and CD ripper/MP3-encoder for the GNOME desktop. It has the ripping capabilities of cdparanoia built in, but can also use external rippers (such as cdda2wav). It also provides an automated frontend for MP3 encoders (presets for lame, bladeenc, l3enc, xingmp3enc, mp3encode, and gogo), letting you take a disc and transform it easily straight into MP3s. The Ogg Vorbis format is also supported. Internet disc lookups are supported for retrieving track information from disc database servers. Grip works with DigitalDJ to provide a unified, "computerized" version of your music collection. Changes: New options to auto-rip on insert, auto-eject after ripping, and beep after ripping. Ripping a new disc while the previous one is still encoding should now work. The maximum number of encode processes has been bumped up to 16. Handling of multi-artist discs has been improved.
About: dagrab is a command line driven tool for extracting digital audio from cd. It works great with IDE drives (and others type too if the kernel supports digital audio read for them, I think this does not include SCSI drives for now), and supports jitter correction, filters and audio post-processing,as well as CDDB to automatically name your files appropriately. Changes: A few bugs fixed.
About: Genius is an arbitrary precision integer and multiple precision floating point calculator. It includes its own programming language similar in some aspects to C, bc, or Pascal. It can deal with rational numbers and complex numbers. It has matrix support as well. It uses the gmp library so it is very fast for calculations of large numbers. It has a command line and a GNOME interface. The GNOME interface supports plotting functions and 3D surfaces. Changes: Initial support of a plugin interface and various bug fixes
About: CYCAS is a 2D+3D CAD package for drafting and design in high quality and for creating 3D presentations and technical illustrations easily. Some of its features include an easy-to-handle user interface, special architectural elements and functions, a WYSIWYG display, printing, plotting, import and export filters, photorealistic rendering with POV-Ray, documentation and tutorials, example drawings, and an extendable 2D/3D symbols library. Changes: Initial release of the preview version.
About: GNU shtool is a compilation of small but very stable and portable shell scripts into a single shell tool. All ingredients were in successful use over many years in various free software projects. The compiled shtool program is intended to be used inside the source tree of free software packages. There it can overtake various (usually non-portable) tasks related to the building and installation of an free software package. Changes: A few $IFS and return code related bugfixes and cleanups.
About: KMySql is a graphical SQL client for KDE which uses plugins to access various databases. Changes: This release fixes a very annoying bug preventing the forms to work properly. One can now import forms from files as they were stored by KMySQL 1.1.2 and older.
About: boclient is a remote windows administation tool which uses BackOrifice or NetBus servers on Windows. It is an improvement of version 1.21. Most recent versions have GNU readline support, NetBus commands, portability to other platforms (BeOS, QNX and 64bit architectures like Alpha) and async network I/O. Changes: This is first version of our new development branch.
About: AlsaPlayer is a new PCM player written with the ALSA sound system in mind. It also includes support for JACK, OSS, NAS, and ESD. It makes extensive use of multi-threading and supports OGG, MP3, WAV, CDDA (CD Digital Audio), MOD, S3M, IT, and many other input types. Features include a real- time effects stream, variable speed/pitch control, SHOUTcast/icecast streaming support, multiple active visual scopes, command line mode, playlists, plugin architecture, low-latency mode, and more. Changes: Major gtk+ bug fixes which sometimes caused segfaults when closing windows. Faster FFT code and enhanced Monoscope. SGI output plugin. Now uses mpg123 0.59r.
About: Vcdkutter is a small program based on xreadvcd by Ales Makarov. It provides you options of cutting a video CD dat file from one arbitrary frame to another, which allows you to save individual scenes rather than the entire movie. It uses mtvp as backend.
About: Secure locate provides a secure way to index and quickly search for all files on your system. GNU locate normally indexes files with the 'nobody' user so that only files accessible to everyone are indexed. Secure Locate indexes with the 'root' user and checks the permissions and ownership of matched files to prevent users from seeing files they do not have access to. Changes: Changed recursive file tree walking code to fts() making it much more stable. Added option to allow exclusion of file systems (NFS, etc). updatedb will now parse the GNU Locate's updatedb.conf file (Linux only).
About: The Webalizer is a Web server log analysis program. It is designed to scan web server log files in various formats and produce usage statistics in HTML format for viewing through a browser. Changes: Version 1.30 marks a major upgrade release, adding many missing features such as page and visit totals, entry/exit page statistics, search string analysis, support for wu-ftp xferlogs and much more. Please read supplied documentation for important upgrade information.
About: BladeEnc is a free, cross-platform, console-based MP3 encoder, based on the ISO reference code. It is mostly intended for high quality encoding in high bitrates. Changes: 0.80 had some serious bugs: Broken MP3's were generated by all files in the batch except for the first. Some files couldn't be encoded due to BitHolder overflow. Feeding BladeEnc with 8-bit samples caused crashes. All AIFF-files were rejected. This version fixes all these bugs and few other minor issues.
About: Common C++ is a highly portable C++ class library meant primarily for the development of portable threaded applications. Support is provided both for POSIX platforms and native builds under Win32. The goal is to provide a truly common C++ framework for writing portable threaded applications that do not require a huge amount of runtime overhead to support, and hence can make C++ and threads suitable even for the development of trivial servers and applications. Changes: APE now preserves config.h as APE/config.h for improved stand-alone use. All current and future APE class framework projects will be taking advantage of APE/config.h.

About: Public BookMark Generator (PBM) is a perl script designed to process links (and folders) out of netscape's bookmark file, using the description field to erase some entries in order to create a public bookmark HTML file that people can distribute on their web page. Changes: Bug fix in the fastaccess and NewHeader options interaction. Separators are now ignored. Clarification of the PBM's fastaccess special values. Added a user list web page.
About: MP3c is a curses-based audio CD-to-MP3/OGG converter with CDDB support. It can be used in an interactive menu environment or a batch mode which lets you encode automatically. MP3c tries to find the most useful information in a CDDB entry, and even recognizes sampler CDs correctly. It is very configurable and can be used with every available encoder, ripper, and tag editor. It is available in different languages (currently English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, and German). Changes: Added pattern for zero-padding, improved and fixed things in batchscript, added automatic .m3u-playlist creation, fixed broken trap of childprocesses, added pattern for mp3-comment, added some documentation, improved handling of directory-requester, fixed various little bugs.

About: gd is a library for creating and reading PNG, JPEG, GIF, WBMP, and XPM images. It has many features and can be used in scripts (e.g. PHP, Perl, Ruby, Lua, and Python) for dynamic image generation. PHP users should note that PHP 4.3.x includes its own distribution of gd, which is currently the best choice for PHP applications.
About: gcombust is a CD burner GUI. It works as a GTK+ frontend for mkisofs, mkhybrid, cdrecord, and cdlabelgen. It has primitive support for controlling the directory (root) structure and size of an image without copying files/symlinking or writing 10 lines of arguments. It can also maximize disk usage by hinting at which directories/files to use.

About: bacKgammon is a backgammon program specifically written with the KDE in mind. It offers the opportunity to play backgammon games by using a convenient and intuitive graphical user interface. bacKgammon is the successor of KFibs, and supports all its features such as a graphical board representation, drag and drop with automated move checking, an intuitive interface to FIBS, and eliminates the need for typing and (learning) the commands of FIBS.
