About: Universal Embedded SQL Compiler (UESQLC) is a compiler that provides a common way for accessing heterogeneous databases. UESQLC is based on Structured Query Language (SQL) as a standard for accessing data. This interface provides maximum interoperability, i.e. a single application can access different SQL Database Management Systems (DBMS) through a common set of embedded SQL code (UESQL). This enables a developer to build and distribute a client/server application without targeting a specific DBMS. Changes: Some minor changes in DEFAULT connections, support for DOXYGEN auto-documentation system, added support for CREATE SCHEMA statement for PostgreSQL target, added SQL error handling and messages, fixed a bug in comments parsing, changes in selection of target platforms for testing and full use of STL.
About: STk is a free R4RS Scheme interpreter which can access the Tk graphical package. Concretely, it can be seen as the standard Tk package where Tcl has been replaced by a Scheme interpreter. Changes: New Scroll-Frame and Toolbar STklos classes, integration of some finals SRFI (0, 2, 6, 8), define-syntax (but not let-syntax and let-syntax*), new license policy (request for commercial apps no more needed) as well as lots of bug fixes (mainly on Win32).
About: Xfce is an easy-to-use and easy-to-configure environment for X11 based on GTK2. A priority is adherence to standards, specifically those defined at freedesktop.org. Changes: Addded window snapping, window shading, improved program structure/Makefiles to compile on more systems, added new user configurable options as well as general improvements/changes/bugs fixes.

About: IntraNet gives any company the ability to quickly and easily create a company intranet without any programming or configuration. The software uses existing Internet technology to allow any employee the ability to log onto the intranet from any location using only a Web browser. There are two versions available. One is a downloadable package to use on your server, the other is an online version which only requires a Web browser and an Internet connection, and IntraNet will host your intranet themselves for a price depending on your required diskspace and number of users. PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MSSQL databases are supported. Changes: Fixed problems with the installation on Linux.
About: GNU shtool is a compilation of small but very stable and portable shell scripts into a single shell tool. All ingredients were in successful use over many years in various free software projects. The compiled shtool program is intended to be used inside the source tree of free software packages. There it can overtake various (usually non-portable) tasks related to the building and installation of an free software package. Changes: Just a few harmless enhancements and fixes.
About: RFC Util allows you to specify the number of an RFC, or a search string, and it returns all related RFCs. It features command line switches to spawn lynx or w3m to view the RFC, dump to file for offline viewing, or mail to an address. It also allows local and remote lookups of port, service, or proto numbers. Changes: Initial announcement.
About: mod_dav enables Apache to understand the WebDAV protocol (extensions to HTTP). WebDAV stands for "Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning", and is defined by RFC 2518. WebDAV is intended to replace proprietary authoring protocols such as those used by Frontpage or NetObjects' Fusion, but is also a complete set of protocols for manipulating a webserver's files and directories, and their properties. Changes: internal changes for replaceable repositories, fixes for various types of builds, some portability fixes and locking fixes.
About: KMySql is a graphical SQL client for KDE which uses plugins to access various databases. Changes: Syntax highlighting, forms can send multiple queries, better password management, better plugin management (including auto-detection), bug fixes. See ChangeLog for details.
About: XSane is a GTK-based X11 frontend for SANE. It works either standalone or as a gimp plugin. It is an alternative to xscanimage. Changes: Preview selection is based on device coordinates now, the sensitivity of all buttons is set/reset in an improved way, status no paper is no longer handled as an error in a real scan, predefined resolution is read from backend now, sane_cancel is called now propperly in multiple image mode, transformed all gif-images to tiff.
About: TWiki is a flexible, powerful, and simple Web based collaboration platform. It is suitable for dynamic intranets and knowledge bases, and for sharing and managing documents and collaborative projects. It resembles a normal Web site, but every page can be changed from a browser. It features automatic link generation, full text search, group authorization, Web forms, reporting, change notification, file attachments, revision control of pages and attachments, a modular templating system with skins, hierarchical navigation based on the topic parenting feature, and more. Plugins can be used to enhance the program and build groupware applications. Changes: Online registration of new users using web form, new text formatting rule for creating table and fixed a Y2K bug.
About: Gsh is a graphical shell. It integrates a terminal window, a normal shell, and various GUI components into a single package which allows easier and more powerful operations than you can have with a shell and terminal window seperately. Gsh is already fully functional, but there are many avenues of devlopment yet to be explored. Changes: Multiple screen support with a screen bar, better completion handling and configurable completions as well as many other minor changes.
About: OpenVerse is similar to other graphical chat systems like Excite Chat and Microsoft Chat, with the main differences being that OpenVerse is open source software, has no advertisements, and also runs on a variety of systems including Windows, Unix, Macintosh, and just about anything else for which you can find a copy of TCL/TK. Changes: Bug fixes in the server where avatars were not being sent, bug fixes in the client where name tags were being left behind, added a /whois command and metaverse is now available in RPM format.
About: The rlpr package makes it possible (or at the very least, easier) to print files on remote sites to your local printer. It includes BSD-compatible replacements for `lpr', `lpq', and `lprm', whose functionality is a superset of their BSD counterparts. In other words, with the rlpr package, you can do everything you could do with the BSD printing commands, and more. The programs are all smaller, cleaner, and more portable than their BSD equivalents, and supported on just about any POSIX.1 system. Changes: Strictly bugfixes and compatibility improvements. In particular, now compiles correctly on Digitial UNIX and also on operating systems using newer releases of GNU libc. About: GObject Builder (GOB) is a simple preprocessor for easily creating GObjects (glib objects). It reads a class description file with inline C code and produces .c and .h object files for you. It allows you to easily use most of the features of the GObject system and avoids typos by reducing the amount of code needed. In general, the amount of code is about the same as for OO languages such as Java or C++, but you still have to only use C and you get all the power of the GObject system. Changes: Now accepts 'const' and '...' in argument lists.
About: The bdist program allows its user to build a distribution file in the standard form of: projectname-majorversion.minorversion.microversion.tgz, that contains all of the relevant files in a programming project. It has a regular expression that it uses to guess at the correct files, so in most cases the distribution file may be built simply by invoking the command with no arguments. Changes: Initial release.
About: noflushd is a simple daemon that monitors disk activity, spins down disks whose idle time exceeds a certain timeout, and stops writes to them in order to keep them spun down as long as possible. It's mainly used on laptops to save power, but can also be useful to desktop users with noisy hard disks. noflushd requires a kernel thread named kupdate which is present in Linux kernel version 2.2.11 and later. For earlier kernels, bdflush version 1.6 provides equal functionality. Changes: Initial public release. noflushd is heavily based on bdflush-1.6. Hence the version number.
About: SoundTracker is a pattern-oriented music editor (similar to the DOS program 'FastTracker'). Samples are lined up on tracks and patterns which are then arranged to a song. Supported module formats are XM and MOD; the player code is the one from OpenCP. A basic sample recorder and editor is also included. Changes: Native ALSA support, master reverb effect, uses non-antialiased canvas in envelope editor by default (page switching is a lot faster now), XM effects reference.
About: KLILO is a GUI to configure the lilo bootmanager. You can set the most common options of lilo, including the default operating system. Changes: There is a better config dialog now and support for the append option of lilo.
About: The LinuxClassLibrary is a growing set of classes which everyone needs every day, that runs on all types of *nix and also on Win32. Currently it is a library that works in the background (non GUI). Current features are character handling, file descriptors (sockets, file, etc.), a database system (like the Perl DBI), an event system, template collection classes (set, heap, hash, etc.), IPC, protocols, plug-ins, and images. Changes: Added autoconf support, cleaned up the source, MySQL support is now only compiled in if you have MySQL installed.
About: netcomics is a Perl script that can retrieve comic strips from the Web that are updated each day. It utilizes a modular set of Perl scripts that provide information on where to find each specific strip. It is most often run as a cron job, but also has a GUI that you can use to browse comics. Changes: Use of gmtime() instead of localtime() for code that downloads comics, new fields (title, type, author, main, and archives), name deprecated, created webpages now get links included to the comic's site, separated modules into their own RPM, new comics: (Bliss, The Boondocks, Citizen Dog, The Fusco Brothers, Overboard, Tank McNamara, Real Life Adventures, Tradin' Paint, Animal Crackers, Bottom Liners, Strange Brew, For Heaven's Sake, Heathcliff, and Color Blind).
