About: vpopmail (vchkpw) is a collection of programs and a library to automate the creation and maintenance of virtual domain email configurations for qmail installations using either a single UID/GID or any valid UID/GID in /etc/passwd with a home directory. Features are provided in the library for other applications which need to maintain virtual domain email accounts. It supports named or IP-based domains. It works with vqadmin, qmailadmin, vqregister, sqwebmail, and courier-imap. It supports MySQL, Sybase, Oracle, LDAP, and file-based (DJB constant database) authentication. It supports SMTP authentication combined with the qmail-smtp-auth patch. It supports user quotas and roaming users (SMTP relay after POP authentication). Changes: MySql support, optimization of adaptive user directory creation for inode usage, support for 10 to 10 million user accounts per virtual domain, a new C API and library for all internal functions, new documentation, NFS-safety, and many new minor enhancements and bug fixes.

About: wb0 is an SVGAlib Web browser. It's good for practical purposes like image viewing and viewing Czech texts in unknown encoding; the encoding is easily user-switchable and reconfigurable (UNICODE-based). Its graphical features include text grayscaling, resolutions from 320x200x256 to 1600x1200x16777216, Floyd-Steinberg ultra-precise dithering for all resolutions, and a sophisticated gamma and colour-balance setting. It can view all PNGs, JFIF/JPEGs, and PCXs, and most GIFs (no truecolor and no animation). It uses lynx to access Web pages and for typesetting. Changes: Initial release.
About: rt is an n-dimensional raytracer. It supports any positive number of spatial dimensions, color and grayscale, cylinders with an arbitrary number of round dimensions (spheres and cubes are special cases of cylinders), quadratic surfaces, convex hulls, regular polytopes, unions, intersections, cuts, extrusions, reflection, refraction, functional texture maps, portals into other traces, ambient light, multiple light sources, directional light sources, gamma correction, fish-eye effect, and output as PNG or PPM. It has been tested under DOS, Solaris, Digital Unix, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Linux, Ultrix, System V, and BeOS. Changes: First public release.

About: emelFM is a file manager that implements the popular two-pane design. It features a simple GTK+ interface, a flexible filetyping scheme, and a built-in command line for executing commands without opening an xterm. Changes: A user-defined command menu, and other tweaks and fixes.
About: XVoice enables speech to text translation for many X applications. XVoice will accept continuous speech input from IBM's ViaVoice SDK for Linux, and then re-target the resulting text at many X applications. It provides a GUI, which can be voice controlled, to select the target application, and control dictation and commands. Changes: Support for "command grammars" which allows voice commands to access application-specific functions such as opening files, and access to spellchecking and any other function of an application by using key combinations.
About: ImageMagick (TM) is a package for the automated and interative manipulation of images. It supports the display and interactive manipulation of images when used with the X Window System. Although the software is copyrighted by ImageMagick Studio, it is available for free and can be redistributed without fee. ImageMagick may be used as a component of both open source and proprietary applications. ImageMagick compiles and runs under Unix, Linux, Windows '95 and later, Apple MacOS, and Compaq VMS. Binary packages are available for most operating systems. Application programming interfaces (APIs) are provided to support development of image processing applications in the C, C++, and Perl languages. Changes: A substantial rewrite to support processing huge image files (e.g. 25k x 25k) and to improve the C API, a pixel cache interface to support processing images larger than available virtual memory by using backing disk storage, 32-bit pixels, and shared memory-mapping file-access for better performance.
About: aumix is a program for adjusting an audio mixer. It can run under X with GTK+, in full-screen text mode with ncurses and (if available) gpm, or non-interactively, and can store all settings in a file. It works with the OSS API.
About: Winie is a W3C network utility (implemented in Java) for saving, getting, and deleting files on the Web using HTTP/1.1. The main feature of Winie is its ability to solve the "lost update problem" by storing ETags. Winie uses the client side API of Jigsaw, the W3C Web Server. Changes: Bugfixes in General Properties, XML Properties, and '\', and additional mime-types in the SOCKS configuration.
About: RT is an industrial-grade trouble ticketing system. It lets a group of people intelligently and efficiently manage requests submitted by a community of users. RT is used by systems administrators, customer support staffs, NOCs, developers, and even marketing departments to track issues, outages, bugs, requests, and all kinds of other things at thousands of sites around the world. Changes: Bugfixes, changes in the logic in date_diff to be a bit more explicit about shorter lengths of time, much-improved mail headers, and using the web UI to send correspondence should now send the correspondence if there are CCs, BCCs or the actor is the same as the requestor.
About: asapm is an AfterStep look & feel Advanced Power Management (APM) monitor for laptop and notebook PCs running Linux or FreeBSD/NetBSD/OpenBSD and X Windows. It displays charge left in the battery, the time left to the total discharge of the battery, computer is connected to the mains or is working on a battery and the battery status high/low/critical. Changes: New options to the pixmaps to use closest colors instead of exact colors (useful for 8bpp modes).
About: Terraform allows you to create fractal terrain (also called a height field) and transform it using a number of algorithms. It is meant to be a tool for those who want to generate digital terrain models for use in raytracing or other simulations. Terraform features different views and colormaps and has a preview mode which features interactive real-time rotation of the terrain object. Terraform is written for the GNOME desktop environment. Changes: A fix for a failed sanity check, an improved contour line to postscript output, a new export-to-ACAD file format option, and a better print settings dialog.

About: Ilib is an image manipulation library for developers. It's capable of reading and writing images (PPM/PGM, PNG, JPEG, GIF, XPM, BMP) and many drawing functions including drawing lines and text using any BDF (X11) font. It's great for generating GIFs/PNGs from a CGI or generating graphs. Ilib includes sample applications for generating graphs for HTTP access.log files and QuakeWorld server frag log files and a tool for creating image indices from a group of images. Changes: A fix for a bug in the iindex (image indexer) client, new draw/fill routines for arcs, ellipses, and circles, and color alloc by name.
About: Lift Off Java Installer is an installer for Java applications. Highlights are self-extracting class files, minimal requirements for the Java installation on the target system, and cross platform installation. Changes: Initial release.
About: smtm (Show Me The Money) is a Perl/Tk ticker, profit/loss calculator, and chart tool. It can display up to ten fields per share, among them company name, price, absolute and relative price changes as well as net wealth change (if the number of shares held is supplied). Other assets such as options, mutual funds, currencies are also supported. Foreign stocks are treated via cross-currency pairs that translate into domestic units. Charts can be launched with one click, and all the charts available at Yahoo!, including all of the advanced moving average and technical analysis features, can be displayed. Stocks can be added and deleted, and the selection can be stored. smtm has been used with US, Canadian, European, Asian, Australian/New Zealand, and South American stocks. Firewalls are fully supported, including user/password support. Changes: Initial public release.

About: Coyote Linux is a mini distribution designed for setting up network utility services such as Internet connection sharing, firewalling, or wireless access points. The goal is to make it as quick and easy as possible to set up a Linux system with only a minimal amount of Linux knowledge. Changes: Initial release.
About: Pan is a newsreader which attempts to be pleasing to both new and experienced users. In addition to the standard newsreader features, Pan also supports yEnc, offline newsreading, article filtering, multiple connections, and more features for power users and alt.binaries fans. About: qdologs is two handy utilities (archive-maillogs and process-maillogs) that archive and report on qmail logs. Archives are based on day; reports include overall stats (requires qmailanalog) and RBL/DUL usage stats. Changes: Initial public release.
About: Fire Gnome (aka gfirewall) is a GTK-based GUI for configuring a firewall. Changes: Initial announcement; currently Fire Gnome will only import ipchains configuration from the system it's running on or from a file generated by 'ipchains-save'.
About: makeself is a small shell script that generates a self-extractable compressed TAR archive from a directory. The resulting file appears as a shell script, and can be launched as is. The archive will then uncompress itself to a temporary directory and an arbitrary command will be executed (for example, an installation script). This is pretty similar to archives generated with WinZip Self-Extractor in the Windows world. Changes: Lots of bug fixes (previous version basically did not work). An option to disable the automatic spawning of xterms was added.
About: LingoTeach is a language teaching program and library that use a session-based concept to teach languages from definable lesson files. It currently supports more than 16 languages, and sounds of native speakers for English, Spanish, and German exist. Changes: Lessons and localisation for Spanish and Japanese have been added.
About: Qpopper is a widely used server for the POP3 protocol. It includes TLS/SSL support, very fast start-up times, and reduced I/O at session close. This server is fully compliant with RFCs 1939 and 2449, and supports Kerberos V4, if enabled. Changes: Fixes 'make realclean' to remove popauth. Fixes typo ("_" instead of "-") in INSTALL file. Fixes order dependency of MIME-Version and Content-* headers in MIME Mangling. Mangling is now faster, and doesn't send MIME headers when doing a TOP 0. tar file now extracts into its own 'qpopper3.0b20' directory.

About: The mminstance package creates instances of PostScript Type1 multiple master fonts. (An instance is a version of the font as it looks at one point in its design space.) Mminstance lets you use multiple master fonts with programs that don't handle them directly, such as afm2tfm, ps2pdf, ps2pk, and X Type1 font servers. Mminstance contains two programs. Mmafm creates AFM font metrics from multiple master AMFM and AFM files, and Mmpfb creates a single-master font outline file (PFA or PFB) from the multiple master font itself. Changes: This version has compilation bug fixes and a new mmafm option.
About: The Network Time Protocol (NTP) is used to synchronize the time of a computer client or server to another server or reference time source, such as a radio or satellite receiver or modem. It provides client accuracies typically within a millisecond on LANs and up to a few tens of milliseconds on WANs relative to a primary server synchronized to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) via a Global Positioning Service (GPS) receiver, for example. Changes: Many reference clock fixes, general code cleanup, updated documentation. Fixes problems specific to *BSD, reliant, SCO and OSF. General bug fixes.
About: cardwords is a customizable, client/server, multiplayer card game. The cards show characters and points. The players form crosswords on the card-table with their cards. By editing text files, cardwords can be customized to any language using latin-1 characters. The set of cards, the card-table, and rules for bonus and penalty points can also be customized. Changes: First version with end-of-game. Code cleanup with regard to C++ strings and casts.
About: WMpop is a Window Maker dock app that monitors a local (mbox format) or POP3/APOP mailbox to inform you when mail arrives. It displays the amount of mail in the mailbox (or unread mail if checked in the preference screen), a scrolling text with the email address of the senders (only for local mailbox at the moment) and a status led, indicating mail checking progression and errors. It can be configured and personalized (icons and sound) via a GTK+ GUI. Changes: Now uses EsounD if it is available. Some bug fixes.
About: rmligs is a Perl script to remove incorrectly-used ligatures from German LaTeX documents. It changes words like Auflage to Auf"|lage. The input may be in German LaTeX-like encoding, latin1, or utf8. Changes: Minor bug fixes.
