About: ZZplayer is an MPEG player for the KDE and other environments. Currently MPEG-I video, MP3, and VCD are supported. It is based on the SMPEG library. You can play video in loop, with or without audio. You can also resize the video or play in fullscreen mode. Changes: A filter for only showing files with an extension of ".mpg" has beed added to the open-file dialog. Full support was added for 24-bit and 32-bit color depths. The autoconf script was updated to check for SDL and smpeg.
About: joyd is a very flexible program that allows you to execute commands via a joystick or joypad attached to your computer. One simple possibility would be to reboot when your keyboard is hung. It can use any device supported by the Linux Joystick Driver. Helper applications allow you to test the joystick status in your own shell scripts. Changes: Values for joystick calibration have been fixed, and minor changes in documentation have been made.
About: Snarf is a simple utility that is similar to wget, curl, ncftp, lynx, and fetch. Its main advantage is its small size (it's ideal for using on a rescue disk). It is also full featured, supporting ftp and http resume, http and ftp authentication, http redirect, proxies, SOCKS, gopher, progress indicators, and it uses configure. Changes: A minor bug was fixed to prevent snarf from hanging after an FTP transfer completes.
About: Given a URL, Getleft will try to download all links. As it goes, it modifies the original HTML pages so that the absolute links get changed to relative links, and links to active pages get changed to the resulting pages. It supports thirteen different languages. Changes: Some small bug fixes and enhancements.
About: syslog-ng is a syslogd replacement supporting IPv6 and capable of transferring log messages reliably using TCP and filtering the content of messages using regular expressions. It has several macros that allow users to dynamically create target directories and files or reformat messages. Changes: TCP reconnection fixes, documentation enhancements.
About: KoalaMud is a MUD source base designed around multithreading and stability. On top of this platform, Shadow of the Wheel is evolving to demonstrate its capabilities. Changes: New daemon loops include full descriptor tracking. The client daemon now acts as an 'echo' daemon. The CVS Keywords were changed to SCCS keywords.
About: Sitescooper automatically retrieves the stories from news websites, trims off extraneous HTML, and converts them into Plucker, iSilo, or Palm DOC format for later reading on-the-move. It will avoid stories you've already read, and can handle virtually any news site on the Web. Support for over 300 sites is included. Even if you don't have a handheld, it's still handy for simple website-to-text conversion. Changes: New featuers include http-equiv meta tag support and better table handling. New site files have been added, including one for Linux Magazine, and fixes have been made to existing site files.
About: cdrtools (formerly cdrecord) creates home-burned CDs/DVDs with a CDR/CDRW/DVD recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. It supports CD/DVD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc- and ATAPI/mmc-compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CDRWs (rewritable), DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW, TAO, DAO, RAW, and human-readable error messages. cdrtools includes remote SCSI support and can access local or remote CD/DVD writers. Changes: This beta release represents a final code freeze before the next stable release. Several multi-session bugs in mkisofs were fixed.
About: ChBg is for changing desktop backgrounds in a given period. It can render images with 10 modes (such as tiled, centered, scaled, etc.). It uses Imlib1, Imlib2, or gdk_pixbuf for loading images, so it supports many image formats. ChBg has a windowed setup program, is able to load setup files, can be used as slideshow picture previewer in its own window or as a desktop background, and can be used as screensaver or as an xscreensaver hack. It has a dialog for fast previewing of pictures and very usable thumbnail previews. Changes: It is now possible to disable selected picture changing and background shading effects. The UI was slightly reorganized to better fit on smaller screens, and several bug fixes were made.
About: XamimeLT is an email scanner which encapsulates your existing sendmail or Postfix server setup. It scans both incoming and outgoing email. It can scan for email viruses, unwanted file types (eg. EXE, BMP, MPEG) and file names (eg. prettypark.exe), spam, and almost anything you care to search for in an email. It can also be used to scan for text snippets within emails and to insert disclaimers into outbound emails. XamimeLT was formerly known as "Inflex". Changes: New features include X-header support and admin selective file, type, antivirus scanning blocks. A general cleanup was made.
About: X Northern Captain is a file manager for X Windows. XNC has the same ideology as Norton Commander but also many additional and specific functions including a Virtual File System with support for tar, zip, rar, rpm, deb, bzip2, and lha archives, FTP support, built-in xterminal, viewer for JPEG, GIF, BMP, TGA, XPM, and XBM formats, an editor, users menu, extensions association, bookmarks for frequently used directories, and more. Changes: The built-in FTP client is now in beta testing. New additions include a 'Stat Info' window with full info from the 'stat' stucture and 'Magic file' database reading. QuickFileInfo now shows 'file' output to the status bar, and the status bar is now configurable at runtime. The PageUp/Dn keys can now be used for scrolling panels by pages, and the Home/End keys can be used for quick scrolling to the start or end of the panel.
About: The GNU Triangulated Surface Library (GTS) provides a set of useful functions to deal with 3D surfaces meshed with interconnected triangles. It features metric operations (area, volume, curvature, etc.), 2D Delaunay and constrained Delaunay triangulations, robust geometric predicates and set operations on surfaces (union, intersection, etc.), surface refinement and coarsening (multiresolution models), and bounding-boxes trees for collision/intersection detection. Changes: Most of the functions have been checked against memory leaks. A few interface changes allow for recursive destruction of the object hierarchy. Note that GTS is now hosted by Sourceforge: update your links accordingly.

About: Privacy Guard Glue is a well-designed library written in C to add GnuPG support to applications. PGG was designed to provide an easy-to-use and robust interface for GnuPG. PGG totally hides the complicated and error prone coprocessing interface of GnuPG and frees the caller of all GnuPG specific tasks and implementation details. Changes: Public encryption and decryption interfaces, bugfixes, development updates, and a small example tool included to decrypt more than one file with typing each passphrase used by a secret key only once (batch decryption).
About: uri is a library that analyses URIs and transform them. It is designed to be fast and occupy as little memory as possible. The basic function of this library is to transform a URI into a structure with one field for each component of the URI and vice versa. Changes: A change of struct member uri to _uri to satisfy broken compilers.
About: webbase is an Internet crawler. It is able to crawl and maintain millions of URLs and store information about them in a MySQL database. The interface is either a command line program or a C library. It contains hooks to plug a full text indexing database. Changes: Partial conversion to C++, and handling of options for mifluz (use mifluz-0.12 with dynamic key description).
About: XDBM is a database designed specifically to handle XML data. It offers greater speed (since the data is stored in a preparsed format), lower memory usage (since only those parts of the file needed are loaded into memory) and faster searching for XML elements. XDBM can also parse and store plain text XML files. XDBM aims to be as close to the W3's DOM specification as possible. XDBM also comes with utilities for converting between XDBM file format and plain text and for reading XDBM files in less and emacs. Changes: Bugfixes.
About: imaptool is a X/Motif utility for creating client-side image maps. It supports all three shapes (rectangle, circle, and polygon), and loads JPEG and GIF images. Changes: Support for -l and -u (for determining the case of the generated HTML, lower case or upper case), and "clean" HTML output (instead of SHAPE=RECT, it's SHAPE="RECT").
About: Etherboot is a free software package for making boot ROMs for booting Linux and other operating systems on x86, Itanium, Hammer, and Hyperstone machines over a network using Internet protocols, namely DHCP and tftp. Changes: A VIA-Rhine driver, support for the Netgear FA310TX (Tulip clone, LC82C168 chip) and 3C905C, and support for SuSE 6.x in mklnim.
About: Naken Chat is a port of Javachat to C. Javachat can be directly replaced with this server and the Java chat client or telnet client will talk to it as if it was Javachat. Naken Chat is multithreaded (like Javachat) and has all the features (channels, gagging, squelching, private messages, etc) and has been tested on: Linux, FreeBSD, Irix, Solaris, and Win32. Changes: Bug fixes/feature enhancements.
About: help2man is a tool for automatically generating simple manual pages from program output. It is intended to provide an easy way for software authors to include a manual page in their distribution without having to maintain that document. Given a program which produces reasonably standard --help and --version outputs, help2man will attempt to re-arrange that output into something which resembles a manual page. Changes: A minor bugfix to remove directory from command name(s) in synopsis.
About: asp2php converts WWW Active Server Pages (ASP) files that run on the Microsoft IIS Web Server into PHP pages to run on Apache. Changes: Bugfixes, and ASP2PHP t-shirts are available.
About: DarcNES emulates a number of different older systems under Linux quite well. Currently emulated are NES, SMS, GG, PCE, SG1000, Apple ][, and Coleco Vision. Genesis emulation is in the works. Changes: Core changed were made to the ColecoVision, Genesis and tms9918 portions of the emulator.

About: QHacc is a personal accounting program based on Qt. It features double- or single-entry bookkeeping and a reconciliation window. It also provides support for memorized and split transactions, graphing, reporting, archiving, and scheduled transactions that can be based on the account balance. Changes: Support for split transactions, a changed file format, new view guidelines to account manager, and the main window remembers its location.
About: krunseti starts SETI@home and displays its status. It can display the progress in the current work unit, the amount of completed work units, and the CPU time for the current and for all work units. The dock window displays the progress, too, and it can change its color to show what the SETI@home process is doing (running, aborted, or paused). Changes: Initial release.
About: WMScript is a system monitoring dock app for Window Maker. It allows you to specify a command and have the numeric result of that command displayed in the dock app's window. You may specify up to 5 things to monitor and the interval is configurable. This combines to make it a very flexible tool for system monitoring. It is based on WMiNet, and the look is the same. Changes: First release.
