About: TkPasMan is a simple program that lets you store usernames and passwords for access to forums, mailing lists, and other websites. It is inspired by gpasman, but has more `paste' possibilities. For example, you can just paste username and then password behind it. Changes: A fix for a nasty bug that caused changes not to be saved when you changed something in the fields at the right and did not change listselection anymore, and better resize behaviour.
About: PostgreSQL is a robust, next-generation, Object-Relational DBMS (ORDBMS), derived from the Berkeley Postgres database management system. While PostgreSQL retains the powerful object-relational data model, rich data types and easy extensibility of Postgres, it replaces the PostQuel query language with an extended subset of SQL.
About: Enlightenment is a themeable, fast, flexible, and powerful window manager that is designed to be as configurable as possible in both look and feel. In addition, Enlightenment provides an applet API that provides functionality somewhere between the GNOME applet system and Dock Apps from Afterstep/WindowMaker. The current design aim is for Enlightenment to become a desktop shell. Changes: Bugfixes were made for dock app support, ascents in I18N fonts, a minor initialization bug in eesh, 64-bit issues, border width handling in ICCCM, warp focus, and KDE menu generation. New features include support for xinerama, i18n support via gettext, an extended display to the window_list ipc command, #-style comments in .menu files, a "configpanel" IPC command so you can open config panels via eesh, and new focus-related options. Translations into many different languages were made.
About: FilterProxy is a Perl script that acts as a generic Web proxy. It is unique in that it allows you to install modules that can perform arbitrary transformations on HTML (or any other MIME-type) and HTTP headers. It filters ads by stripping HTML from the page, anonymizes requests by removing Referer and User-Agent headers, compresses HTML content, and de-animates animated gifs. Configuration is done via Web-based forms or editing a Perl data structure. Changes: Proper daemonization, new command line options, case-insensitive ad regexps, and fixes for Proxy-Connection: keep-alive and a config file reload bug.
About: slap prints text labels on Seiko Instruments' range of Smart Label Printers (all models). It is distributed with several bitmap fonts in several sizes. Also provided are printer-interface scripts for the common UNIX print-spoolers. slap is available for all UNIX and POSIX.1 systems. Changes: Bugfixes, more label types, and allowing of barcode fonts.
About: SWISH++ is a Unix-based file indexing and searching engine (typically used to index and search files on web sites). It was based on SWISH-E although SWISH++ is a complete rewrite. SWISH++ is at least 10 times faster and can handle much larger numbers of files. Additionally, it has unique features such as selective non-indexing, on-the-fly filters, user-selectable stemming, and more. Changes: This release fixes a bug with incremental indexing and very large index files whereby the in-memory file size was computed incorrectly due to missing parentheses in an expression. A PidFile feature was also added.
About: Threads is a library designed to make threading under C++ simpler. It provides a "pthread" class, with an abstract method called "thread". It also provides classes for mutual exclusion of parallel processes and condition signalling, and a semaphore class that comes in handy when synchronizing constructor and threaded method. The aim of the threads library is to provide a simple, yet powerful means of threading applcations, and to provide shared memory and process scoping to C++ programs. Changes: Minor bugfixes, and a new ability to register/unregister I/O for asynchronous input with the I/O handler class.
About: peep will route data among TCP/UDP connections, files, and standard I/O file descriptors in any way you specify. Optionally, it can connect the standard I/O file descriptors where you specify and then execute another application. Changes: A fix for a serious bug that slowed down peep a lot.
About: UDB consists of a library and some simple utilities for creating and maintaining a persistant shared-memory database associating users with IP addresses, or users with established TCP connections. The library is meant for proxies (e.g. HTTP filters or IRC proxies) which could benefit from knowing what user to associate with a dynamic IP address, or would need to pass user information on to a modified ident daemon. Changes: Initial release.

About: TORCS, The Open Racing Car Simulator, is a highly-portable multi-platform car racing simulation. It can be used as an ordinary car racing game, as an AI racing game, and as a research platform. Changes: Use of textured fonts instead of GLTT and TTF (way faster), a new K1999 robot, and tunable player's preferences.
About: NSBD (Not-So-Bad Distribution) is an automated Web-based distribution system that is designed for distributing free software on the internet, where users cannot trust the network and cannot entirely trust the maintainers of software. NSBD authenticates packages with GNU Privacy Guard (GnuPG) or "Pretty Good(Tm) Privacy" (PGP(Tm)) digital signatures so users can be assured that packages have not been tampered with, and it limits the maintainer to only update selected files and directories on the user's computer. NSBD's focus is on security, leaving as much control as is practical in the users' hands. Network transfers are done with http or rsync. Changes: Only minor changes to NSBD, but several new packages have been added to those that are available for secure automated binary updates via NSBD at http://www.bell-labs.com/wwexptools. The packages currently available on up to 8 Unix types are Apache, CVS, expect, gnucore (which includes most of the core GNU utility packages), GTK+, jed, lynx, mc, metamail, nmh, psutils, rsync, rxvt, slang, tcltk, xemacs, and xpdf.
About: ModRelocate allows you to create virtual documents that, when selected, transfer you offsite and log the transaction to your access log. All GET arguments are passed along to the remote URL. Triggers can be set to run whenever a virtual document is selected. Changes: Initial freshmeat announcement; new triggers so that when relocation occurs, a URI can be called.
About: HylaFAX is a fax and paging system for Unix. It supports sending facsimile, receiving facsimile, polled retrieval of facsimile, transparent shared data use of the modem and sending alpha-numeric pages. The software is structured around a client-server architecture. Fax modems may reside on a single machine on a network and clients can submit outbound jobs from any machine that can communicate with the machine on which the modems reside. An access control mechanism is included to control which users on which machines may access a server. Changes: Bugfixes.
About: Genpak is a small set of utilities designated to process DNA, RNA, and protein sequences in a very Un*x-like manner. This way, Genpak programs can be combined using pipes and redirections, as well as easily incorporated into CGI scripts. The utilities include a program for calculating GC content, Tm, translating DNA/RNA sequences into protein sequences, quick sequence retrieval, random sequence generation, and finding promoter sequences using a Hertz matrix. Changes: New utilities: gp_findorf for ORF retrieval and gp_digest for restriction site analysis, an RPM for i386, and many bugfixes.
About: eForum is server side software that enables geographically distant participants to share ideas and enhance teamwork via the Web. It allows project moderators to manage feedback and project discussions, and can display interactive Q&A tools. Changes: New facilities to allow eForum users to subscribe to selected groups, then only select from those groups, and numerous updates to the JSP pages for eForum to correspond with enhancements to the back-end Transaction object's new capabilities.
About: Nautix lets you command an Avatar through realistic 3D worlds. Changes: Initial freshmeat announcement; lighted area around player unit, a second mission to play, and many bugfixes.

Changes: Ease-of-administration enhancements (new Index Smart Guide and performance monitor), application development enhancements (enhanced UNICODE support and increased table/column limits), OLE DB container support, providing access to OLE DB data sources such as Microsoft Access, and DB2 connect enhancements, such as connection pooling for deployment of large-scale Web-based applications.
About: surf is a tool to visualize algebraic curves and algebraic surfaces. It is script-driven and has optionally a nifty GUI using the GTK widget set. Changes: Initial public release.
About: PicMonger is a GUI-driven app that scans a specified Usenet newsgroup for binary attachments. Any attachments encoded with uuencode or in MIME-base64 format are decoded into the current working directory. Lists of frequently used servers and groups are saved on a per-user basis and easily accessed/edited via the GUI. HTML preview pages (like contact sheets) can be automatically generated on the fly. PicMonger also remembers where you were between sessions so scanning resumes where you left off. Changes: Numerous important bugfixes (no more intermittent abort() and HTML preview loss, some problems with encoded file detection fixed), CSV file download/decoding now supported, the install path can now be specified using the --prefix option to 'configure', and a few internal design changes.
About: PySDL is a module for Python that provides an interface for the Simple DirectMedia Layer's functionality. It currently supports the video, CD-ROM, joystick, audio, and event subsystems. Changes: Support for SDL_image, changed Surface slice behavior, new palette manipulation routines, removal of some obsolete routines, and updates to __doc__ strings.
About: ZClock is a simple but highly configurable GNOME clock applet, created as a replacement for the default. It allows you to specify the exact time format and border style, and even display your uptime in a tooltip. Changes: Initial freshmeat announcement.
About: Resin provides fast Java servlets, JSP (Java Server Pages), XSLT, compiled JavaScript and a Java Web server. Its XSL can create JSP pages from XML, servlets can be filtered with XSL stylesheets, and JSP pages can use server-side JavaScript in addition to Java. Changes: Completion of beta, and final bugfixes.
About: OpenNap is an open source Napster-like server. Napster is a protocol for sharing multimedia files in a distributed fashion. The server acts as a search engine and broker for direct file transfers between clients. Group and private chat similar to IRC is also provided. OpenNap extends the Napster protocol to allow sharing of any media type and the ability to link servers together. Changes: A virtual user "OperServ" to allow clients without built-in support for opennap extensions to administer the server, new commands to kick users from channels, clear an entire channel, set a limit on number of users in a channel, and to revoke a users account, and bans are now saved and restored on server restart.
About: TT-News (Tick Tick-News) is a news-ticker, written in QT. Besides the normal features, it can display an article-summary and a window with all the current news. The news can be fetched from various sources as long as they provide an RSS version of their news stories. TT-News uses skins, so its look can therefore be changed easily. Screenshots available on the homepage. Changes: A new feeder for RSS-sites (My Netscape channels), making TT-News support thousands of news sites, some HTML is allowed in the news items, and some internal changes.
About: Harbour is a free, cross-platform compiler for the Xbase language. It is designed to be as compatible with CA-Clipper as humanly possible. Harbour ships with full source and makefiles, and combined with one of many C compilers will create executables which run natively on the following platforms: Linux, FreeBSD, DOS, Windows 3.x/9x/NT/W2000, and OS/2. Changes: Final cleanups have been done on global macro and symbol names, DISKSPACE() enhancements have been made, 10 character symbol support has been finalized, VAL() has been made fully compatible, the new functions HB_COMPILER(), HB_FSIZE(), HB_FTEMPNAME(), and HB_FTEMPCREATE() have been added, PP bug fixes have been made, more functions are now documented, handling of double/long number widths and decimals has been made completely CA-Cl*pper compatible, some new CA-Tools-compatible functions have been added, MEMO type support has been added, #pragma fixes and enhancements have been made, GT API selection is done now at link time instead of compile time, compiler and platform detection has been enhanced, multiplatform cleanups and fixes have been made, warning levels have been upped and warnings have been fixed, multiple source file support has been added to the Harbour command line, HBCLIP and RUNJAVA contribution dirs have been added, and new subtags have been added to HBDOC for better output.
About: JacORB is a CORBA 2.0 implementation written in Java. It contains an IDL compiler, a name service with graphical management interface, an event and notification service implementation, and a transaction service. DII, DSI, DynAny, native IIOP (1.2), Interceptors, OBV, AMI, and ETF are supported. Tools for applets are included. The language mapping complies with rev. 2.3 of the Java language. Changes: This release adds portable interceptors, IIOP over SSL (includes KeyStoreManager), and Collection and Concurrency services.

About: APSR is a network testing tool designed to send and receive arbitrary network packets. Its main purposes are firewall, security, routing, and a lot of other tests. It can also be used to analyze your network. The project is split into three main programs: apsend to create and send packets, aprecv to dump the network traffic, and the apsrlib which provides the appropriate low-level functions. A very wide range of protocols are supported by the aprecv program. The application layer is implemented through modules using a simple API. Modules can be written in Perl, Ruby, C, or PCL (a special-purpose packet construction language). Changes: This release implements a BeOS DoS attack, fixes a bug in the asocket.pm module, implements a --data/-y option for the --connect function and adds an example file.
About: Deadman's Redirect is designed to replace whatever is loaded when you click on the Home button in your browser. It is a Web surfer's power tool that can be completely customized, using HTML, to fit the needs of the user. It allows for URL redirection as well as an interface to various search engines through its aliasing system. It also supports user-set aliases with functional arguments, RSS headlines, and a history of all the URLs that pass through it. Changes: History and alias functionality has been added. History and aliases are kept in a flat (text) file on the server. This file must be read/writable by the Web server process. There is NO documentation with this pre-release. The docs will be in the final version.
About: GTKExtra is a useful set of widgets for creating GUIs for the X Window System using GTK+. It is written in C and includes the following widgets: GtkSheet, GtkPlot, GtkPlotCanvas, GtkItemEntry, GtkComboBox, GtkColorCombo, GtkBorderCombo, GtkFontCombo, GtkDirTree, GtkIconList, GtkFileList, GtkIconFileSelection, and GtkCheckItem. Changes: Bugfixes have been made for memory leaks in gtksheet, gtkplot, and gtkplot tick marks. New features include gtksheet buttons which can contain widgets (like pixmaps), improvements in attributes handling, and new signals in gtkplotcanvas.
About: deborphan finds packages installed on your Debian/GNU system that have no other packages depending on them. Its primary goal (and default action) is to trace unused libraries. A dialog frontend, orphaner, is included in the package for easy removal of packages. Changes: A new --show-all option, and compile support for systems without getopt.h.
About: Etherboot is a free software package for making boot ROMs for booting Linux and other operating systems on x86, Itanium, Hammer, and Hyperstone machines over a network using Internet protocols, namely DHCP and tftp.
About: MisterHouse is a Unix/Windows home automation program written in Perl. It can respond to voice commands, Web browsers, time of day, serial port and X10 data, external files, etc., and can speak via Text to Speech engines. Changes: Support for X10's new IR transmitter, more iButton support and documention, updates for Perl 5.6, and misc. bugfixes.
