 cthumb 2.4
 by N/A - Sun, May 7th 2000 15:36 UTC

About: cthumb allows you to create Web albums of digital pictures with thumbnails, captions, and several different views of the collection, including (optionally) several languages and resolutions. An album is composed of a series of pages, each composed of a collection of pictures. You can have several annotations per picture, and can customize almost everything in the way the albums look on the screen.

Changes: This release adds preparation for themes and themable albums, a new "LinkSize" attribute for albums which determines the size of the link surrounding the thumbnails (the new variable $LinkSize determines that too, by default), a -k option to do text captions under the thumbnails (there is also the option "TextCaptions" to be used in the album file, and also you can put $TextCaptions=1 in your ~/.cthumbrc as usual), a fix for a bug so that when NoMainIndex is true, no back arrows are generated, changes in the defaults so that all variables in the album file match the program variable names, so they can be assigned in ~/.cthumbrc (see the included cthumbrc.sample), and fixes for a couple of minor mismatches in the alink and vlink colors.

 ScanErrLog 0.3
 by N/A - Sun, May 7th 2000 08:57 UTC

About: ScanErrLog is a Python module that allows you to parse Apache error_log files and present their data in decreasing order of occurences of error messages. This is particularly useful if you want to quickly solve the most annoying problems Web visitors encounter on your site. You can use it directly from the command line, import it into another Python program and use the classes it defines, or use it as a CGI script. You can produce reports in HTML, PDF, XML, or Plain Text formats.

Changes: ScanErrLog now accepts arguments on the command line. The most important ones are -c | --cumulate to cumulate results for all the files and -p | --pattern regexp to select the lines to parse using this particular regexp. The default pattern to select lines was modified because it was "not so common".

 ColdSync 1.1.9 (Stable)
 by N/A - Sun, May 7th 2000 07:16 UTC

About: ColdSync is a portable synchronization tool for Palm devices (PalmPilot, Handspring Visor, etc.) that runs under *BSD, Solaris, Digital Unix/Tru64, Linux, AIX, and Windows NT. It supports PalmOS 2.0 (original PalmPilot) and later. It is only known to support Visor syncing under FreeBSD and Linux, however. It supports IR syncing under Linux. ColdSync can back up, restore, install, and synchronize database, and can be extended and customized through the use of conduits. ColdSync is rather paranoid and takes pains not to delete anything it isn't 100% sure about.

Changes: More flexible conduit configuration. Conduits can take user-supplied configuration arguments. Several new conduits added.

 udpcast 20000506
 by N/A - Sun, May 7th 2000 07:09 UTC

About: UDPCast allows to send data simultaneously to many destinations on a local net. This can for instance be used to install entire classrooms of PCs at once. The advantage over using other methods (nfs, ftp, whatever) is that udpcast uses Ethernet's multicast abilities: it won't take longer to install 15 machines than it would to install 2. The tool comes with a busybox bootdisk for easy loading of the tool. However, udpcast can also be started from the command line of an already installed system, and can be used for other purposes than just system installation.
