About: Nmap ("Network Mapper") is a utility for network exploration, administration, and security auditing. It uses IP packets in novel ways to determine which hosts are available online (host discovery), which TCP/UDP ports are open (port scanning), and what applications and services are listening on each port (version detection). It can also identify remote host OS and device types via TCP/IP fingerprinting. Nmap offers flexible target and port specifications, decoy/stealth scanning for firewall and IDS evasion, and highly optimized timing algorithms for fast scanning. Changes: The main addition is IP Protocol scan mode (-sO) which tells you what protocols the host allows over IP (such as TCP, UDP, IGMP, ICMP, SWIPE, EGP, etc). This release also includes some minor fixes & enhancements.
About: Mad Bomber is a clone of Activision's 1981 Atari 2600 classic, "Kaboom!" The Mad Bomber rushes back and forth at the top of the screen and drops bombs which you must catch with your bucket. If one drops, you lose a bucket and go back one level. One or two players can play, using keyboard or mouse. There is also a "versus" mode where player two controls the Mad Bomber. Changes: Documentation files are now named with a ".txt" extension. High score input and a high score table screen were added. A CPU-intensive loop was cleaned up. "mixer" references were changed to "SDL_mixer". The BMP images were replaced with PNG images. The Makefile was updated to support Windows cross-compiling under Linux.
About: LinNeighborhood is a GUI frontend for browsing M$ machines and mounting SMB shares using Samba (and Smbfs on 2.0 kernels). Changes: This version features support for group and machine browsing with another domain, as well as some small bug fixes.
About: Circus Linux! is a clone of the Atari 2600 game "Circus Atari." The object is to move a teeter-totter back and forth across the screen to bounce clowns up into the air. When they reach the top, they pop rows of balloons and then fall back down. If you don't catch one, you lose a clown. Changes: Installation is now done using a "configure" script. Title-screen music was created. Keyboard control is now available. Graphics tweaks were made.
About: Defendguin is a clone of the Williams arcade classic "Defender." Instead of humanoids, you rescue penguinoids, and instead of alien UFOs abducting them, it's a certain monopolist we all know. Changes: Joystick support, updates to evil boss graphics, and new command-line options.
About: Stereograph is a stereogram generator that renders exclusively truecolor stereograms. It offers different effects to increase the quality of your artwork, including transparency effects. Changes: A -A flag was added which tells stereograph to print a pair of triangles at the top of the final stereogram. This feature may help unexperienced users to perceive a stereogram easier.
About: Frood is a Gtk/Perl LDAP client designed to work on LDAPv2 and LDAPv3 servers. You can extract data from a server by either searching (either by baseDN, scope, filter, attribute names, or attributes) or by browsing a hierarchial tree structure. Entries can be added, deleted, modified, or have their RDNs modified. LDIF files can be imported and exported. LDAPv3 schema can be edited. Changes: Initial Release.
About: FLTK (pronounced "fulltick") is a cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit for UNIX/Linux (X11), Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X. It provides modern GUI functionality without the bloat, and supports 3D graphics via OpenGL and its built-in GLUT emulation. FLTK is designed to be small and modular enough to be statically linked, and also works fine as a shared library. It also includes an excellent UI builder called FLUID that can be used to create applications in minutes. Changes: Many bugfixes, line style support, I18N support in FLUID, and many documentation improvements.
About: Efone is a distributed internet phone system. It features a voice sending/receiving client (an internet phone) and a central server (administered via the Web) where users' information (name, nick, password, current IP) is stored. It resembles a combination of ICQ and Internet phone. Changes: Initial Freshmeat announcement.
About: psDooM is a process monitor and manager for *nix systems. It could be considered a graphical interface to the 'ps', 'renice', and 'kill' commands. psDooM is based on XDoom, which is based on id Software's 'Doom'. Changes: Preliminary support was added for Solaris' version of 'ps'. A command line flag was added that allows PID monsters to be damaged by things other than the player.
About: WCD is a directory changer for DOS and Unix. Another NCD (Norton Change Directory) clone. This program jumps to a (sub)directory anywhere in the directory-tree. The directory to jump to can be given by only the first characters or an expression with wildcards. Changes: A bugfix in the ncurse-based interface, an update of the manpage, and some minor tweaks.
About: PPCForth is a minimal version of FORTH targetted for embedded PowerPC systems. It currently supports the IBM 40x series, although the Motorola 8xx series is a future possibility. It may be used to boot boards, load S records, and of course, write programs in FORTH. Changes: Initial release.

About: sgalaSMS sends messages to GSM via SMS and can forward your e-mail to your GSM.
Changes: Alias support (substitutes the real from e-mail field with an alias defined in an alias file when the program sends you an e-mail to GSM).
About: LineControl allows you to remotely control the Internet connection of a Linux masquerading server using multiple clients. It takes care with the number of clients using the connection and decides upon this number whether the connection should be up or down. The clients show the time the connection is up and throughput statistics. Different connection types are supported, such as analog modems, ISDN, or even cable modems and ADSL devices.
Changes: User accounting, authentication currently not encrypted, use of system accounts, monitoring of incoming ISDN calls, message to clients, LCP3 (LineControl Protocol 3), and logging of time and amount of bytes downloaded.
About: The purpose of zdisk is to have a kernel of your choice and a rescue system on one floppy or cdrom disk. Zdisk copies a kernel of your choice to a floppy and puts a rescue system on the same floppy, creating a boot/rescue floppy. The kernel can't be more than 1070Kb in size. Ramf-117.exe at the same site has a similar rescue system, except it comes with a IDE kernel.
Changes: Software updates.
About: Chemtool is a GTK+-based 2D chemical structure editor for X11. Drawings can be exported in XFig format for further annotation, or as Postscript files (using xfig's companion program transfig). A set of sample molecular structure drawings is included in the archive.
Changes: Initial freshmeat announcement; a GTK-based GUI instead of plain Xlib, several new bond types, reaction arrows, improved positioning of sub- and superscripts, and new functions for copying/rotating/mirroring fragments.
About: spam.pl reads an email from stdin and creates a complaint mail which it sends to the postmaster and abuse-receivers of the domains that have relayed the mail. It is customizable to prevent complaining to friendly hosts, uses your own complaint mail and is ready to be invoked from within another mail program.
Changes: Digging out IP addresses from the received: headers better, a fix for a bug that sometimes let friendly domains get mailed, use of sendmail -f, -q allows sending of the headers only in the complaint, and a -i flag for "complaint relay" services.

Changes: An important fix for people with improperly installed copies of NeoMail 0.99 or 0.99a allowing users to log in regardless of password entered, small bugfixes, and a new translation (Portuguese).
About: SciGraphica is a scientific application for data analysis and technical graphics. It pretends to be a clone of the popular commercial application "Microcal Origin", supplying plotting features for 2D, 3D, and polar charts. It features opening several worksheets and plots to work with at the same time, fully-configurable plots using a control panel dialog, a completely WYSIWYG look and feel, and publication-quality PostScript output.
Changes: A Python interface in worksheets, and import and export features in XML format (you can save your worksheets, plots, and projects).
About: Dante is a free implementation of the proxy protocols SOCKS version 4 and SOCKS version 5 (RFC 1928). It can be used as a firewall between networks, controlling outgoing traffic. The package consists of two parts: a socks server and a proxy client that supports socks, and HTTP proxies. Commercial support is available.
Changes: New ports to HP-UX and AIX are now available. Performance has been improved with libwrap. Bugfixes have been made.

About: Qvwm is a Windows 95 like window manager for the X Window System. It allows Windows 95/NT users to use the X Window System without a hassle and X Window System users to use Windows 95 without a hassle.
Changes: Memory management bugfixes. This version recognises the -clientId option again, and uses mkstemp() instead of tmpnam() to avoid a security problem.
About: Xscorch is a clone of the classic DOS game "Scorched Earth". The basic goal is to annihilate enemy tanks using overpowered guns. Players can purchase weapons and accessories to defend their tank, and they can attack enemy tanks by adjusting the angle of the tank's turret and the firing power. Xscorch supports gameplay with humans and computer AIs, and network gameplay is in development.
Changes: A compilation error was fixed for those who do not have libmikmod, and part of the napalm flames are implemented.
About: mnoGoSearch is a full-featured Web search engine that you can use to build search engines over HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and NTTP servers, local files, and database text fields. It supports many database systems as backends. It has built-in support for XML, HTML, and text, and external converters can be used to support other document types. An automatic language/charset guesser for more 70 language/charset combinations is included, along with cluster support, making it possible to distribute data over multiple computers and index huge collections with up to several hundred million documents.
Changes: A minor bug in charset stuff which caused crashes in some cases has been fixed. Minor bugs in URL parser have been fixed along with a minor bug in the URL list importer.
About: The Anomy mail sanitizer is a filter designed to block email-based security risks, such as trojans and viruses. It can scan an arbitrarily complex RFC822 or MIME message and remove or rename attachments, truncate unusually long MIME header fields and sanitize HTML by disabling Javascript, etc. It uses a single-pass pure Perl MIME parser, which can make it both more efficient and more precise than other similar programs. The sanitizer has built-in support for third-party virus scanners.
Changes: Bugfixes in macro scanner and attachment handling code.
About: GObject Builder (GOB) is a simple preprocessor for
easily creating GObjects (glib objects). It reads
a class description file with inline C code and
produces .c and .h object files for you. It allows
you to easily use most of the features of the
GObject system and avoids typos by reducing the
amount of code needed. In general, the amount of
code is about the same as for OO languages such as
Java or C++, but you still have to only use C and
you get all the power of the GObject system.
Changes: Version 1.0.0 accepts identifiers as dimensions of arrays. It includes updates to documentation.
About: ChBg is for changing desktop backgrounds in a given period. It can render images with 10 modes (such as tiled, centered, scaled, etc.). It uses Imlib1, Imlib2, or gdk_pixbuf for loading images, so it supports many image formats. ChBg has a windowed setup program, is able to load setup files, can be used as slideshow picture previewer in its own window or as a desktop background, and can be used as screensaver or as an xscreensaver hack. It has a dialog for fast previewing of pictures and very usable thumbnail previews.
Changes: There are now many nice color shading effects with GIMP gradients. There are new dialogs added for previewing thumbnails of images, normal/scrolled and fullscreen image preview windows, option to remember the last shown picture between sessions, and the option to save shading effects as PNG pictures and edit them with external editors.
