About: Arianne is a multiplayer online engine to develop turn based and real time games. It provides a simple way of creating games using Python for a game's description. Marauroa, its server, uses Java, MySQL, UDP, and Python for hosting dozens of players. Changes: Runnable from outside the terminal, a new tile set, and fixes to be able to run from BeOS's Tracker, KDE, or GNOME file managers.
About: WebCalendar is a Web-based calendar application that can be configured as a single-user calendar, a multi-user calendar for groups of users, or as an event calendar viewable by visitors. About: Cons is a Perl-based software construction tool (i.e., substitute for make). It offers a number of features not found in make or other build tools, including integrated dependency analysis (no more "make depend" to generate static lists of .h files), complete dependency analysis across multiple directories, multiple side-by-side variant builds, compilation from code repositories, MD5 signatures instead of time stamps for determining whether a file is up-to-date, and extensibility via Perl. About: gnotepad+ is an easy-to-use, yet fairly feature-rich, simple HTML and text editor for UNIX-based systems running X11 and using GTK. gnotepad+ was designed to have as little bloat as possible, while still providing many of the common features found in a modern GUI-based text editor. Changes: Fixes for an error in the .spec[.in] file which caused it NOT to build the RPM file and removal of an extra call to gtk_text_thaw() when saving a file which can cause cursor updates to fail until the next time the window is redrawn/refreshed.

About: Larbin is an HTTP Web crawler with an easy interface that runs under Linux. It can fetch more than 5 million pages a day on a standard PC (with a good network). Changes: Ability to restart larbin where it last stopped, and cleanups to stats and interface.

About: dspspy is a sound recording utility for spyíng. dspspy waits until a sound is detected and then it records it to a unique file. dspspy records sounds from the microphone to raw sound files. This can be used as a surveillance system. Changes: Code cleanups and some error handling.

About: Ishmail is an extremely powerful and convenient email tool with a nice GUI. Changes: Configuration fixes (1.9.9 needed manual tweaking for anything except Linux), fixes for DnD icons (especially weird under M*tif-2.*), fixes for several dialogs that caused crashing under [Open]Motif-2.1 and wrong geometry under LessTif, and addition of ISO-8859-13 (Baltic) to the list of predefined charsets.
About: BeeCrypt is an ongoing project to provide strong and fast cryptography in the form of a toolkit usable by commercial and open source projects. Included in the library are entropy sources, random generators, block ciphers, hash functions, message authentication codes, multiprecision integer routines, and public key primitives. Changes: Win32 support (the library can be compiled as a DLL), an assembler-optimized Pentium/Pentium Pro version of SHA-1, and minor fixes in entropy providers.
About: MOSIX is a management system targeted for high performance computing on Linux clusters and multi-cluster organizational grids. In MOSIX, there is no need to modify or link applications with any library, copy files or login to remote nodes, or even assign processes to different nodes. It is all done automatically, similar to a single computer with multiple processors; just fork and forget. Changes: Bugfixes, including a memory leak and network security, new man pages for DFSA and MFS, a new installation utility, and new RPM packages.
About: The CDDB/CDDB_get Perl module gets the CDDB info for an audio CD. The included script was intended as a demo for CDDB_get, but over time it has gained powerful features like the ability to write to a database, offline mode, HTTP mode (including proxy), saving in standard XMCD format, and writing 'lame' commands. Changes: Integer division is now used instead of floatingpoint division, so CDDB / CDDB_get is faster. The name has been changed because of CPAN (CDDB.pm already existed)
About: authlocal is a simple, self-contained program module (Just one file, just one function to call from your code) to automatically authenticate users logging into servers from localhost. No username/password entry is required. authlocal has been tested to work under versions 2.0 - 2.4 of the Linux kernel. Changes: authlocal now rejects all "users" with uid below 100 (this is changeable in authlocal.h).
About: SDL is a library that allows you portable low-level access to a video framebuffer, audio output, mouse, and keyboard. With SDL, it is easy to write portable games which run on many different platforms. Changes: Official IRIX and FreeBSD support and DrawSprockets support on MacOS were added. There is now also experimental DGA 2.0 hardware support and support for resizable windows and stretchable YUV overlays. Other changes include improved default GCC optimization flags, condition variables and semaphores, much faster RLE accelerated colorkey blits, much faster alpha blending blit routines, and lots of minor bugfixes and improvements.
About: CMVision is a real-time color classification and segmentation library which can track up to 256 colors in a 640x480 30fps video stream. The vision system core is a C++ library which is easily extensible for custom applications, and should compile on any *nix compatible environment. Also provided is a video capture library for Video4Linux II. Changes: This version has several bugfixes and a few enhancements, and code written for version 1.0 should work with little or no changes. The system is now under the GPL, allowing linking and distribution with other free systems.

About: Mandriva is an RPM-based Linux distribtion. It excels at usability and simplicity, features thoroughly preconfigured KDE and GNOME desktops, and includes cool tools like supermount (transparent access to removable media) and DiskDrake (a full-featured graphical hard-drive partitioner). Unlike former versions, Mandriva is not a tuned-up Red Hat, but a very mature Linux distribution on its own. Mandriva is published by a company, but is a completely open and transparent free-software project. Changes: Many significant changes.

About: mp3_check helps to identify in explicit detail MP3s that do not correctly follow the MP3 format. It also looks for invalid frame headers, missing frames, etc., and generates useful statistics. This can be especially important when building an archive, and you want high quality MP3s. Changes: mp3_check will now change its analysis method depending on whether it is analyzing a stream or a file. If it is a file, the analysis time is decreased by about 88%. Better portability with the Alpha processor and with older Linux distros.

About: Arad-OneTable-Editor is a set of perl modules to manage and display a dialog for a single-table SQL query. It can verify types, and scroll between the records. The data handling is separate from the dialog class, so it is possible to write different generic dialogs for the same query. About: WorkerTimer lets you record the time you spend on different tasks with a single mouse click. It is easy to add and delete projects. An included utility generates reports. WorkerTimer used to be known as Project Clock but has been renamed due to a trademark issue. Changes: Bugfix and reporting release. An RPM of pclock is now available.
About: chkwww and pychkww are two small console applications which you can use to determine which Web server is used by a particular site. It displays information about the Web server's version, official hostname, and whether the site supports resumable downloads. Changes: chkwww now detects if a site can resume downloads. Autoconf support. Change from GET to HEAD request. Lots of bugfixes.
About: JOODA is a Java IDE written in pure Java 1.3, with the look and feel of a Smalltalk IDE. It features syntax highlighting, dynamic execution of code, on-the-fly parsing of source code, support for different languages (German, English, and Bavarian), file-based and class-based editing of source code, and more. Changes: The applications-browser works again. New features include snapping windows, bugs fixes, removal of deprecation, and display of a progress-bar when classes are parsed. The class-based browser now cuts tabs and spaces, and configure.sh now creates desktop icons on KDE and GNOME.
About: CGIProxy is a Perl CGI script that acts as an Internet proxy. Through it, you can retrieve resources that may be inaccessible from your own machine. The user is kept as anonymous as possible from any servers. HTTP and FTP are supported, and optionally SSL. Common uses include censorship circumvention, VPN-like setups, anonymous proxies, personal proxies, and others. Options include text-only browsing (to save bandwidth), selective cookie and script removal, simple ad filtering, access restriction by server, encoded target URLs and cookies, configuration by end user, and much more (currently about 50 config options). Javascript is fully supported, and Flash is partially supported. An online demo is available. About: md5mon is a shell script that verifies files by computing their checksums. The script is suitable for use as a basic security checking tool from cron. It features configurable monitoring levels, local copies of find/md5sum, and integrity checks to prevent tampering with itself. It can also use a more secure shasum instead of md5sum. Changes: More flexible exclusions of files to be monitored, and bugfixes.

About: LavaPS is an interactive process-tracking program like "top", but with a much different attitude. Rather than presenting lots of specific info in digital form, it tries to present certain important information in a graphical analog form. The idea is that you can run it in the background and get a rough idea of what's happening to your system without devoting much concentration to the task. Lavaps was inspired the idea of calm computing from "The Coming Age of Calm Technology" by Mark Weiser and John Seely Brown. Changes: Process control (kill, nice, etc.), a lozenge-shaped window like a real lava lamp, and many small bugfixes.
