About: Webgallery is a Perl script which produces high quality Web pages for showing off a bunch of images in a directory. It relies on the ImageMagick Studio (specifically PerlMagick), and handles all the images that ImageMagick knows about. It outputs some thumbnail images in JPEG format and an index page for your Web site. Changes: Initial release.
About: WCD is a directory changer for DOS and Unix. Another NCD (Norton Change Directory) clone. This program jumps to a (sub)directory anywhere in the directory-tree. The directory to jump to can be given by only the first characters or an expression with wildcards.
About: TinyLIB is an emulation layer to make all platforms look the same. It is very small and meant for game development. TinyLIB provides a subset of GLUT/OpenGL, OpenAL, BSD sockets, and the C standard library. Changes: TinyLIB is now feature complete for the Win32 platform. It includes several test programs.
About: Vmailmgr provides a virtualizing password-checking interface to qmail-pop3d, a delivery agent to automatically deliver mail within a virtual domain, and a set of tools to manage such a domain. It also has Courier IMAP support. It uses one uid per domain, and this user can fully administer the domain without needing suid access rights. Making it work is as easy as adding a line in qmail's virtualdomains file, and running a few commands. Changes: Several non-critical bugs were fixed in various systems. Support for the Courier IMAP module was added into the main package. Preliminary support for handling autoresponder messages was added.
About: ipmkchains reads in a set of firewall rule files, computes the differences between those rules and the rules that are currently in use, and executes the necessary commands to make the rules in use match the rules from the file, using diff and ipchains. Changes: The three standard chains (input, forward, and output) are scanned last to avoid creating references to nonexistant chains.
About: GTKExtra is a useful set of widgets for creating GUIs for the X Window System using GTK+. It is written in C and includes the following widgets: GtkSheet, GtkPlot, GtkPlotCanvas, GtkItemEntry, GtkComboBox, GtkColorCombo, GtkBorderCombo, GtkFontCombo, GtkDirTree, GtkIconList, GtkFileList, GtkIconFileSelection, and GtkCheckItem. Changes: Important improvements were made in GtkPlotCanvas and GtkPSFont. Among other changes, GtkPlotCanvas can show figures (lines, arrows, rectangles, ellipses) and embed images. A few bugfixes were also made.
About: Liquid War is a truly original multiplayer wargame. You control an army formed with thousands of pixels (fighters) which look like liquid and try to eat your opponent. You can play against a primitive NPC/AI or up to 5 other human players. Network play is available. Changes: With this release all the features of previous versions of Liquid War for DOS are available, including the "wave effect". It also supports custom levels, and the install script has been updated so that it's easier to figure out that the complete version of Allegro is needed, not just the end-user version. Look for network support coming soon.
About: Audiogalaxy's Satellite is a distributed music search agent. It is a small application which does mp3 searching and file transfer and makes a designated directory on your computer searchable by other Satellite users. It features a real-time transaction-based system for file sharing. The Linux version has no user interface, but files are selected via the Web for transfer from other users. Changes: VBR and ID3v2 tag detection was added. Now supports transfers over rotating gateway machines. Many other bugfixes were made.
About: The Anomy mail sanitizer is a filter designed to block email-based security risks, such as trojans and viruses. It can scan an arbitrarily complex RFC822 or MIME message and remove or rename attachments, truncate unusually long MIME header fields and sanitize HTML by disabling Javascript, etc. It uses a single-pass pure Perl MIME parser, which can make it both more efficient and more precise than other similar programs. The sanitizer has built-in support for third-party virus scanners. Changes: Bugs were fixed. Experimental support for scanning forwarded messages as if they were proper message/rfc822 parts was added.
About: gd is a library for creating and reading PNG, JPEG, GIF, WBMP, and XPM images. It has many features and can be used in scripts (e.g. PHP, Perl, Ruby, Lua, and Python) for dynamic image generation. PHP users should note that PHP 4.3.x includes its own distribution of gd, which is currently the best choice for PHP applications. Changes: A memory leak was fixed and the documentation was updated.
About: climm (CLI-based Multi-Messenger) is a portable, small, yet powerful console-based ICQ and XMPP client. It supports password changing, auto-away, creation of new accounts, and other features that makes it a very complete yet simple client. It is able to send and receive messages from the ICQ network, list users that are offline and online (including their online status), search for users by email address, and look up basic (name, UIN, email) information. climm was formerly known as mICQ. Changes: Micq now features word wrapping at the screen boundaries, nickname symlinks to log files, Japanese encoding, wide command, uptime command, an option to disable shell command ability, and a command line option to change the logging directory. Russian/Japanese encoding on the last command was fixed, LogDir was added to the ~/.micqrc, and the clear command is no longer configurable.
About: METAGRAF is a graphical editor for creating figures in MetaPost. It is currently able to draw any kind of figure in b/w or color. METAGRAF outputs a MetaPost file which can then be run through MetaPost by itself or using TeX. The program is written in Java and is thus platform-independent. Changes: Bezier curves now may be composed of an unlimited number of points. All the buttons now have tooltips. New system for extremely precise pointer placement was implemented, with moving marks in the rules and written coordinates. The drawing system features a new editor which permits a very sophisticated method for programming MetaPost. Absolute precision to a single pixel is now possible by using the arrow keys. The results of using macros is now immediately visible.
About: Sawfish (the window manager formerly known as Sawmill) is an extensible window manager using a Lisp-based extension language. All window decorations are configurable and all user-interface policy is controlled through the language. Its aim is to manage windows in the most flexible and attractive manner possible. As such it does not implement desktop backgrounds, application docks, or other things that may be achieved through separate applications. Sawfish is mostly GNOME-compliant; almost all configuration may be made through a graphical interface. Changes: Support was added for persistently saving user-modified window state. Best-fit window placement mode was improved. A new window menu module was added. Many other improvements and bug fixes were made.
About: QHacc is a personal accounting program based on Qt. It features double- or single-entry bookkeeping and a reconciliation window. It also provides support for memorized and split transactions, graphing, reporting, archiving, and scheduled transactions that can be based on the account balance. Changes: Fixes were made for a bug in the reconcile window that gave wrong account differences, for small interface bugs, and for --cron mode crashing if an account was not explicitly labeled "SPLIT".
About: Thorn is a UML modeling tool written in Java. It uses XML to save the models you create. Its purpose is to give the open source world a good modeling tool to help develop and manage the increasingly sophisticated development efforts of the open source community. Changes: A fix for the drag and drop problem (the UseCaseDisplayItem on the diagram now references the correct ThornUseCase in the model, instead of making a full copy of that ThornUseCase), moving the definition of all AbstractActions used by the application into the new ActionFactory class, which is a singleton object that acts as a factory for providing references to the various Thorn Actions, a new (non-operational) toolbar in the Use Case diagram, and an Actor icon (now you can create Actors and place them on the Use Case diagrams).
About: napMan is an infobot that provides you with a real time glimpse into the current state of the worldwide network of nap servers that are based on either the closed source Napster protocol or the Open Source opennap protocol. It displays a list of all the nap servers and current statistics for each server (users, number of MP3 files, gigabytes), and provides the ability to ping individual servers and check the network lag time, a facility to save the list of servers and statistics to a file, and the ability to refresh statistics for individual servers or all the servers. Changes: Initial release.
About: phpSecurePages is a PHP module to secure pages with a login name and password. It can handle multiple user groups (each with their own viewing rights), store data in a MySQL database or a configuration file, and be used to identify your Web site viewers. It also has multiple language support as well as session support for both PHP3 and PHP4. Changes: Multi-language support and a Dutch language file have been added.
About: diald-top maintains a top-like listing of all packets and their time to live for use with diald. It uses named pipes for communication. Changes: A slight fix was made to allow compiliation under newer Linux platforms. Compilation was tested under Red Hat 6.2.
About: The CDDB/CDDB_get Perl module gets the CDDB info for an audio CD. The included script was intended as a demo for CDDB_get, but over time it has gained powerful features like the ability to write to a database, offline mode, HTTP mode (including proxy), saving in standard XMCD format, and writing 'lame' commands. Changes: A 2nd output format for disc-label has been added, using the -d option.
About: GQmpeg is a frontend to various audio players, featuring themes (skins), playlists, and many configuration options. Supported backends are mpg123, ogg123, xmp, and video4linux radio tuners. Changes: Various small fixes, changes, and additions were made.
About: Mondo Rescue archives Linux and Lin/Win sytems to tapes or CDs, which may be used to restore some or all of your OS and data in the event of catastrophic data loss. The emphasis is on stability and ease of use. Currently, ext2, ext3, (v)fat, minix, ReiserFS, XFS, and JFS filesystems are supported, as are RAID and LVM. Changes: It is now possible to use Mondo to backup a Windows-only PC to CD-R.
About: GnuCash allows you to track bank accounts, stocks, income, and expenses. As quick and intuitive to use as a checkbook register, it is based on professional accounting principles to ensure balanced books and accurate reports. It is backed by an active development community and is blossoming into a full-fledged accounting system. Changes: This release contains bug fixes, updated documentation, and updated translations. This is intended to be the last release in the 1.3.x development series. Expect version 1.4 soon.
About: The Meeting Room Booking System (MRBS) is a PHP/MySQL-based Web application for booking meeting rooms. It uses 'areas' to group rooms, and rooms within each area are shown side-by-side. Changes: This release adds various fixes and support for different languages.
About: PIKT is cross-categorical, multi-purpose software for monitoring and configuring computer systems, administering networks, organizing system security, and much more. PIKT is intended primarily for system monitoring, and secondarily for configuration management, but its versatility and extensibility evoke many other wide-ranging uses. PIKT consists of a sophisticated, feature-rich file preprocessor; an innovative scripting language with unique labor-saving features; a flexible, centrally directed process scheduler; a customizing file installer; a collection of powerful command-line extensions; and other useful tools. Changes: Much of the script processing code has been rewritten in a more modular, readable, and maintainable fashion. The array implementation has been redone, introducing AWK-style associative arrays, also multi-dimensional numerically indexed arrays. #indent-#unindent preprocessor directives have been added, for automatic indentation of PIKT configurations.The value history mechanism has been revised, fixing a serious scalability problem. Several small bugs have been fixed, along with other code improvements.
About: XMail is an Internet and intranet mail server featuring an ESMTP server, POP3 server, finger server, TLS support for SMTP and POP3 (both server and client side), multiple domains, no need for users to have a real system account, SMTP relay checking, DNS based maps check, custom (IP based and address based) spam protection, SMTP authentication (PLAIN LOGIN CRAM-MD5 POP3-before-SMTP and custom), a POP3 account synchronizer with external POP3 accounts, account aliases, domain aliases, custom mail processing, direct mail files delivery, custom mail filters, mailing lists, remote administration, custom mail exchangers, logging, and multi-platform code. Changes: MD5 authentication has been added to CTRL server to enforce server security. Users of CTRL protocol are ancouraged to use this new authentication mode. POP3 TOP command has been implemented. Code rewrites and bug fixes.
About: dspspy is a sound recording utility for spyíng. dspspy waits until a sound is detected and then it records it to a unique file. dspspy records sounds from the microphone to raw sound files. This can be used as a surveillance system. Changes: More code cleanup. A lot of code has been rewritten using the ncurses library. A pause feature using SPACE has been added.
About: floppyfw is a router and simple firewall on one single floppy. It uses Linux basic firewall capabilities, and has a very simple packaging system. It is perfect for masquerading and securing networks on ADSL and cable lines, using both static IP, DHCP, and PPPoE, and provides a simple installation, which usually involves editing of only one file on the floppy. Changes: Now using kernel 2.2.16.
About: KTouch is a program for learning to touch type. KTouch provides you with text to train on, and adjust to different levels, depending on how good you are. It can display which key to press next, and the correct finger to use. Changes: It is now possible to change between different keyboard layouts. Suported keyboards are English, German and Norwegian.
About: 3dfile is a simple OpenGL-based file browser. Navigation is very easy; just point-and-click. Changes: Added a HexView, shadows for item names, audio warning and a visibility function. Improved InfoView and long file names. Modified some motion to be time-dependant. It now forks on exec. There are new RPMs for RH6.2

About: Frood is a Gtk/Perl LDAP client designed to work on LDAPv2 and LDAPv3 servers. You can extract data from a server by either searching (either by baseDN, scope, filter, attribute names, or attributes) or by browsing a hierarchial tree structure. Entries can be added, deleted, modified, or have their RDNs modified. LDIF files can be imported and exported. LDAPv3 schema can be edited. Changes: LDAPv3 schema editing
About: Knapster is a Linux KDE client of Napster, the MP3 download utility. It supports most of the napster client operations such as searching by songname/band, messaging, chat channels, downloads and uploads, and an mp3 library. Changes: Mandrake version of V0.11 which should fix the library problems
About: jEdit is an Open Source text editor written in Java. It has many useful features, such as syntax highlighting, bracket matching, regular expression searching, multiple file search and replace, folding, and keyboard macros. jEdit also includes a powerful plugin architecture that allows more than 80 plugins to be downloaded and installed from within the editor. Changes: Fixes for a number of annoying bugs.
About: This is a patch to Sendmail that allows you to use PostgreSQL to store "map" information, as used in Sendmail's virtual user table and access databases. It works with Sendmail 8.9.3 and Sendmail 8.10.2. Changes: Initial release for Sendmail 8.9.3.
About: Glimmer is an all-purpose programmer's editor for Linux. Features include revert, find/replace, goto line, syntax highlighting, multiple-level undo/redo, tear-away windows, quick access popup menu, auto-indenting, Python scripting support, and many other standard editor features. Changes: A new composite widget was added for "Insert > Shell Output". The "Command" entry was converted to a GtkCombo and history stuff was added to keep track of the last n commands. History support was added to GnomeGotoLineDialog. A new GnomeAsciiList widget for "Insert > Ascii Character" was added.
About: mpg123-mysql consists of some patches to mpg123 which make it support MySQL. This adds some bells and whistles, including rating support and playlist support. Changes: A new column with the last modification time, less frequent playing of bad titles, and some new options and bugfixes.
