About: MIMEDefang is a flexible MIME email scanner designed to do all kinds of email processing, including anti-virus scanning, anti-spam scanning, replacing parts of messages with URLs, adding boilerplate disclaimers, and so on. It can alter or delete various parts of a MIME message according to a Perl-based policy filter. It can also bounce messages with unacceptable attachments and modify SMTP response codes on the fly. It works with the Sendmail 8.11 and newer "Milter" API, which makes it more flexible and efficient than procmail-based approaches. Changes: Extra logging via syslog, a more reliable mail filter at figuring out attachment names, and README now suggests increases to default milter timeouts (especially on slow machines).
About: Thorn is a UML modeling tool written in Java. It uses XML to save the models you create. Its purpose is to give the open source world a good modeling tool to help develop and manage the increasingly sophisticated development efforts of the open source community. Changes: Connections/relations between actors and use cases may now be drawn on the Use Case diagrams.
About: StockTicker is a GNOME panel applet for displaying stock quotes and graphs. Quotes and performance graphs are retrieved over the net on a user-specified schedule. Both US and European stocks are supported. Changes: First public release.

About: VoidPOP3 is a POP3 server designed to have many builtin features, while fitting in the smallest space possible. Changes: Many bugfixes, and some enhancements too.
About: larswm is a modified version of the 9wm window manager that adds virtual desktops, automatic window tiling, and many other features designed to make it a highly efficient user environment. One of the design goals is that you should never have to manually shuffle windows around on the screen. Another is that it should use as little CPU time, RAM, and screen space for itself as possible. Changes: A fix for a bug where new windows would open on the wrong display, and a more flexible configuration, including setting preferences for specific physical screens and/or virtual desktops.
About: Spyrius is a multithreaded superdaemon that provides TCP connectivity to services that are implemented as loadable modules ("plug-ins"). The daemon was designed with extensibility, ease-of-use, and performance in mind. It was implemented on Solaris 2.x but should be generally portable to other POSIX systems. Spyrius is a prototype and is not a fully-implemented, release-quality package; it is made available in the hopes that it may prove to be useful in other open source projects. Changes: Initial release.
About: wxWidgets is a cross-platform C++ GUI library, offering classes for all common GUI controls as well as a comprehensive set of helper classes for most common application tasks, ranging from networking to HTML display and image manipulation. wxWidgets uses native widgets on all platforms whenever possible and fills missing gaps on some platforms using generic controls written with wxWidgets itself. Changes: First stable release of wxWindows for Windows and GTK; mostly bugfixes and code to write TIFF and BMP.
About: Etherboot is a free software package for making boot ROMs for booting Linux and other operating systems on x86, Itanium, Hammer, and Hyperstone machines over a network using Internet protocols, namely DHCP and tftp. Changes: A bugfix was made for rtl8029 and Lance cards. Other minor bugfixes were made.
About: crc-file provides command line CRC testing of files using CRC protocol X25r. It is excellent for determining whether files have changed from within shell scripts or from the command line. This package also includes the Silicon Tao C libraray file for CRC using several protocols. Changes: First release.
About: PySDL is a module for Python that provides an interface for the Simple DirectMedia Layer's functionality. It currently supports the video, CD-ROM, joystick, audio, and event subsystems. Changes: Support was added for recent SDL and SDL_ttf functionality.
About: SILC (Secure Internet Live Conferencing) is a protocol which provides secure conferencing services in the Internet. It can be used to send any kind of messages, in addition to normal text messages. This includes multimedia messages like images, video, and audio stream. All messages in the SILC network are encrypted and authenticated, and messages can also be digitally signed. SILC protocol supports AES, SHA-1, PKCS#1, PKCS#3, X.509, OpenPGP, and is being developed in the IETF. The software is delivered as SILC Client for end users, SILC Server for system administrators, and SILC Toolkit for application developers. Changes: This release adds a protocol-compliant key exchange protocol, INFO and VERSION commands, fixes to the CLEAR command, MP integer binary encoding/decoding, PEM encoding/decoding, and bugfixes.
About: aewm is a minimalist window manager for X11. It has no nifty features, but is light on resources and extremely simple in appearance. It should eventually make a good reference implementation of the ICCCM. A few separate programs are included to handle running programs, switching between windows, etc. Changes: Withdrawing windows in palette is now handled properly. aewm now ungravitates when printing window geometry. An unused function was removed. More goodies and build improvments were added.
About: Mailreader is the fully-featured, MIME-compliant, Web-based POP3 email client that powers Mailreader.com. It should work with any browser, including Lynx. Changes: A new Polish translation of the interface has been added.

It features a simple and attractive GTK+ interface. Changes: This release adds the ability to rename the mp3 file, a new popup menu for the file entry to convert '%20' and '_' into spaces and vice versa, a button to apply the track number to all files, some improvements and options for the scanner window (new masks, positioning, stay on top, etc.), a new German translation, an updated French translation, and some bugfixes.
About: W3Perl is a Web logfile analyzer. But it can also read FTP/Squid or mail logfiles. It allows most statistical data to be ouput with graphical and textual information. About: Knetfilter is a KDE frontend to iptables. It is used with Linux 2.4 to manage the functionality of netfilter. Knetfilter lets you set up most common firewall configurations, as well as perform more sophisticated management of a complex firewall. It is also possible to use an integrated interface to tcpdump and nmap. Changes: Serious MASQUERADE management is now available. MASQUERADING rules are saved. Some code clean-up has been done. The save-rules function now works completely.
About: SDPGTK wraps GTK using simple, clean C++ classes and a straightforward hierarchy. It integrates well with existing GTK code, and, unlike existing wrappers for GTK, does not force the developer into a UI "framework". Of particular interest is the sdpGtkObjectContainer class, which implements the proposed GTKML standard, for loading a GTK hierarchy and events from an XML document. Changes: Two new widgets (sdpGtkPlug and sdpGtkSocket), XML editor sample application, sdpGtkPlug & sdpGtkSocket sample application.

About: am-utils is the next generation of the popular BSD automounter, amd. It includes many additional updates, ports, programs, features (such as NFS V.3 support, and shared libraries), Autofs, bug fixes, and more. Changes: NFSv3 support for Linux and HPUX-11, various additional configuration options, updated or minor new ports to alpha-dec-osf4.0f, alphaev6-dec-osf5.0, i386-pc-linux-rh6.2, i386-unknown-freebsd3.4, and various bugfixes.
About: SDLRoids is essentially an Asteroids clone, but with a few extra features and some nice game physics. It's based on xhyperoids, an UNIX port of an old Windows game called Hyperoids. Changes: Improved score display, which uses scaling if screen is small, set window and icon titles as well as icon image, new shield code, better man page and various minor code improvements.
About: Snort is a lightweight network intrusion detection system, capable of performing real-time traffic analysis and packet logging on IP networks. It can perform protocol analysis, content searching/matching and can be used to detect a variety of attacks and probes, such as buffer overflows, stealth port scans, CGI attacks, SMB probes, OS fingerprinting attempts, and much more. Snort uses a flexible rule based language to describe traffic that it should collect or pass, and a modular detection engine. Snort has a real-time alerting capability, with alert mechanisms for syslog, a user specified file, a UNIX socket, or WinPopup messages to Windows clients using Samba's smbclient. Changes: This release has several fixes to the configuration script to allow normal compilation across all Linux platforms. Additionally, it has fixes for the Tru64 version, as well as a fix for SMB alerting.
About: TEG is clone of 'Plan Tactico y Estrategico de la Guerra', which is a clone of Risk, a networked multiplayer turn-based strategy game. TEG is not fully compliant with Risk; some rules are different. It has a server, a robot, a GNOME client, support for GGZ Gaming Zone, and IPv6. Changes: The implementation of 'end turn' has been finished so now a game can be played 'normally'. 'Get card' also is implemented, and the correct check of borders has been finished. 50% of the game is implemented. Checking for conquered continents is also implemented.

About: RPMbuilder is a program to help users create RPMs from a source .tar.gz package. It helps build a generic RPM spec file. Although this program will bail out on nonstandard build methods, it should be good enough for most apps. Changes: Various bug fixes and other code improvements.
About: GProc-Applet is the GNOME version of GProc. It allows you to manage your running processes from the GNOME panel. Changes: The core of the program has been totally rewritten. Now GProc-applet does not use libgtop anymore, it's faster and uses less memory. Everyone having trouble with the previous release should update it. RPMs are now available. GProc-applet now works with the public release of Gnome and with the CVS branch too.
About: MeBay is a Perl/GTK client for eBay with support for "My eBay" bid and watch items, and support for several types of item searching. Item images can also be displayed when possible. Changes: Enhanced searching to support prev and next pages, better search feedback, improved UI feedback, fixes for eBay HTML changes, and a few other bug fixes.

About: MIT Photonic Bands (MPB) is a free program to compute the band structures (dispersion relations) and electromagnetic modes of periodic dielectric structures, and is applicable to photonic crystals (photonic band-gap materials), optical waveguides, and a wide range of other optical problems. Its features include: fully-vectorial 3D computations, a flexible user interface based upon the GNU Guile scripting language, output in HDF format, and iterative, targeted eigensolver methods to address very large problems by solving for only a few states near a specified frequency. It runs on both serial machines and parallel machines with MPI. Changes: Bug fixes, new geometry types (cones) and utilities, group-velocity calculation, and other enhancements.
About: Sawfish (the window manager formerly known as Sawmill) is an extensible window manager using a Lisp-based extension language. All window decorations are configurable and all user-interface policy is controlled through the language. Its aim is to manage windows in the most flexible and attractive manner possible. As such it does not implement desktop backgrounds, application docks, or other things that may be achieved through separate applications. Sawfish is mostly GNOME-compliant; almost all configuration may be made through a graphical interface. Changes: Updated translations for Polish, Russian, British English and Spanish are included. A locale/FontSet bug and the WM_NORMAL_HINTS handling have been fixed, as well as the window-history behavior. Many new commands have been added. There are also new functions like "image-ref", "image-set", "image-fill", "image-map", "color-rgb-8", and "root-window-id". Some fixes to functions that deal with WM_TRANSIENT_FOR have been made, and the graphical configuration program "sawfish-ui" has been improved.
About: lm_sensors provides essential tools for monitoring the temperatures, voltages, and fans of Linux systems with hardware monitoring devices. It contains a library for sensors access (libsensors), a command-line tool for sensor reporting (sensors), and a daemon (sensord).
