About: KUnit is a tool to convert between different units. It currently supports conversion to and from various units in the following categories: acceleration, angle, angular acceleration, angular velocity, area, bits and bytes, capacitance, charge, colors, current, energy, force, illuminance, inductance, length, luminance, magnetic flux, mass (or weight), power, pressure, shoe sizes, SI prefixes, specific heat, temperature, thermal conductivity, time, torque, velocity, viscosity (dynamic), viscosity (kinematic), voltage, and volume. Changes: The new categories "Colors" and "Shoe Sizes" were added.
About: larswm is a modified version of the 9wm window manager that adds virtual desktops, automatic window tiling, and many other features designed to make it a highly efficient user environment. One of the design goals is that you should never have to manually shuffle windows around on the screen. Another is that it should use as little CPU time, RAM, and screen space for itself as possible. Changes: This fixes all bugs found since release 4.4. Borders of all widths down to zero width are drawn correctly. The input field of the WM_HINTS struct is now honored. Other minor problems were fixed.

About: cvsq (CVS queued) is a tool that enables developers with a dial-up connection to work comfortably with CVS. It accepts same arguments as CVS but instead of directly processing them, cvsq stores all requests in a queue and handles them later. This way, you can mark several files for commit and upload them when you're connected to the Net. Changes: The queue is now FIFO in all situations. Support for CVS options before CVS command was added. Portability fixes were made.
About: glrcsim is a flight simulator for radio controlled models. It is aimed at slope soaring, where unpowered models glide on the breeze. Changes: Initial announcement. The flight model is an unrealistic 'fly in the direction pointed', but you can fly around a heightmapped landscape. Input device support is limited to keyboard only, and there is no automatic makefile configuration.
About: TGI_PERL offers a DSO plugin module for Bayonne that executes Perl applications without invoking an external /bin/perl interpreter. This serves much the same purpose as mod_perl does for Apache. Changes: Initial announcement.
About: Glimmer is an all-purpose programmer's editor for Linux. Features include revert, find/replace, goto line, syntax highlighting, multiple-level undo/redo, tear-away windows, quick access popup menu, auto-indenting, Python scripting support, and many other standard editor features. Changes: This release fixes the find/replace segfault, Color/Style retrieving from the conf file, and the highlighting problem with multi-line highlights (comments mostly). The GnomeFileList dialogs now give focus to the selection entry upon creation.
About: phpWebLog is a Web-based news management system written in PHP. It uses a MySQL database. All the content, including multiple design layouts, themes, and languages can be edited/deleted through a user-friendly administration mode. It supports the importing and exporting of headlines from other sites via Netscape's RSS/RDF format. It also supports story moderation, an expandable links manager, threaded comments, and it allows site owners to expand their site by creating static pages from the administration page. Changes: Many new features were added, including a new layout manager that uses XML formatted files to provide interchangable themes, improved searching abilities, a new polling system, story summaries, dynamic generation of images to match your layout, several bug fixes, and many other things.
About: hc-cron is a cron daemon for 'home computers'. It runs specified jobs at periodic intervals and will remember the time when it was shut down and catch up jobs that have occurred during down time when it is started again. Hc-cron is based on the widely used vixie-cron and uses the same crontab format so that it can be used as a drop-in replacement for that program. Changes: A new option was added to support a config file, as well as a new option to pass the deamon's runtime environment to started jobs. Some security fixes were made.
About: Half-Life Admin MOD is a plugin module to any Half-life mod that adds admin commands and user levels. You no longer have to risk giving out rcon access. It is very flexible to configure, supports reserving nicknames/playerslots on servers, and offers public kick and map voting. Changes: First stable release.
About: The SQL Abstraction Layer (SAL) provides a set of classes for creating and manipulating SQL statements in PHP. This makes it easy to refer to your SQL statements by name instead of by value, increasing portability. It also means you do things like have a search form generate SQL (including arbitrary SQL joins) on the fly. SAL is part of the Enzyme open-source project. Changes: Initial freshmeat announcement.
About: Portable OpenSSH is a Unix/Linux port of OpenBSD's excellent OpenSSH, a full implementation of the SSH1 and SSH2 protocols. It includes sftp client and server support. Changes: Bugfixes.

About: Obsequqiuem is a network-based streaming MP3 jukebox that uses RTP/Multicast (RFC 2250) or Icecast to stream the MP3s. The Web interface allows local and remote users to control what music is being streamed by the server, and includes support for browsing the music collection, playlist mangement, multiple channel support, and an automatic music selection mechanism called DJ Random. The package also includes scripts to do one step ripping, encoding, and submission into the database. The server allows remote MP3 check-in/check-out and a supplied script allows downloading a playlist from the server into a Rio player. Changes: Fixes for the remaining outstanding bugs to create the latest stable release.
About: Given a URL, Getleft will try to download all links. As it goes, it modifies the original HTML pages so that the absolute links get changed to relative links, and links to active pages get changed to the resulting pages. It supports thirteen different languages. Changes: This is a bugfix release.
About: Ciao is a complete Prolog system subsuming ISO-Prolog with a novel modular design which allows both restricting and extending the language. Ciao extensions currently include feature terms (records), higher-order, functions, constraints, objects, persistent predicates, a good base for distributed execution (agents), and concurrency. Libraries also support WWW programming, sockets, and external interfaces (C, Java, TCL/Tk, relational databases, etc.). About: PHPLIB is a base library for the PHP language. It contains class definitions that help in session tracking, manage persistent variables (just like ASP session-variables, only more flexible), can do authentication and permission checking and support shopping cart applications. Additional classes generate HTML code from database queries and similar features. Changes: Mostly bugfixes, and a new class called menu for generating navigation on your site. PHPLIB-7.2c is compatible with both PHP3 and PHP4.
About: Twin is a text-mode window environment. It turns a text terminal into a X11-style display with window manager, terminal windows, and can also serve as display for remote applications. Each terminal window provides the functions of a text-mode Linux console. Twin runs on X11, libggi, itself, the Linux console, and any termcap/ncurses-compatible tty. It supports multiple simultaneous displays, and can attach/detach each display on the fly. Changes: Initial porting to non-Linux systems, modular window manager, bugfixes for rare but critical problems, display Window tweaks, and an X11 keyboard cleanup.
About: The IPchains Firewalling Module, part of the RockSolid Linux Distribution, allows you to easily maintain a firewall based on ipchains with the Webmin look and feel. It has three modes: Newbie (select one of five security levels), Template (define from a table with protocols and directions what should be allowed to pass your firewall), and Expert (have the real ipchains experience by having every parameter under control by editing a script file which has all ipchains rules). Nearly all of the ipchains options are supported. Changes: Ability to import the current system settings and move rules up and down in chains, changes to the way insert and append are handled, and the usual cleanups and bugfixes.
About: The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is a tool to monitor the traffic load on network-links. MRTG generates HTML pages containing GIF/PNG images which provide a live visual representation of this traffic.
About: KSI Scheme is an implementation of the Scheme programming language written in C. It can be used as both a stand-alone interpreter and an extension library. However, the documentation is in Russian. Changes: Bugfixes.
About: The Meeting Room Booking System (MRBS) is a PHP/MySQL-based Web application for booking meeting rooms. It uses 'areas' to group rooms, and rooms within each area are shown side-by-side. Changes: This version allows the user to make repeat bookings.
About: GeneWeb is a system for people who want to publish their genealogy data on the Web. It can also be used locally (not connected on the net) as a normal genealogy program. It uses very efficient techniques of relationship and consanguinity computing, speaks several languages, and can run in conjunction with an existing Web server (CGI) or standalone using its own internal server.
About: NeoMail is a web-based email client written in Perl. It provides access to a machine's local mail spools without requiring a POP3 server to be running, and without giving users shell access. It supports sending and receiving attachments, multiple folders, user themes and preferences, templates for interface generation, quotas, language translations, etc. Changes: A new Danish translation, and fox for a small bug in the Dutch composemessage.template.
About: phpGroupWare (formerly known as webdistro) is a multi-user groupware suite written in PHP. Its provides a Web-based calendar, todo-list, addressbook, email, news headlines, and a file manager. The calendar supports repeating events. The email system supports inline graphics and file attachments. The system as a whole supports user preferences, themes, user permissions, multi-language support, an advanced API, and user groups. Changes: Lots of bug fixes and changes were made to the backend. The TTS module has been improved and is now fairly integrated. The foundation for moving to a template-based system has been put in place.
About: pks-commands.php3 allows your Web server to search and add PGP/GPG keys from the public keys out there. It takes the TCP 11371 port connection and does it all on the web server. It is good in environments where the client machines are unable to get to arbitrary TCP ports (such as behind tightened firewalls). Changes: Initial release.
About: Recovery Is Possible (RIP) is a CD or USB boot/rescue/backup/maintenance system. It has support for many filesystem types (Reiserfs, Reiser4, Ext2/3/4, HFS+, ISO-9660, UDF, XFS, JFS, UFS2, CIFS, MS DOS, NTFS, and VFAT) and contains several utilities for system recovery. It also has IDE/SCSI/SATA, RAID, LVM2, and Ethernet/DSL/cable network support. Changes: First announcement.
About: cvs-nserver is the almost complete rewrite of network-related CVS code featuring security-critical code in separate executables, a clean authentication layer allowing virtual repositories running under a single system account with an unlimited number of virtual users, simple authentication modules which can authenticate against /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, and PAM, and complete compatibility with existing clients. Changes: This release allows port numbers in remote repository names, i.e. 'cvs -d :pserver:pete@cvs.example.com:24000/repos'.
About: jslice takes a single JPEG picture (or PNG/GIF/TIFF etc with version 1.1.0) and slices it up into a table to facilitate the activation of various portions of the original picture in an HTML document. Changes: This is the first "stable" release. Developers are wanted to write a GUI/GTK front end for generating the "slice" files.
About: Cyrus IMAPd-sql is a version of standard Cyrus IMAPd packaged for easy support of authentication through SQL server, virtual mail domains, and administration via CGI scripts. Changes: Update to Cyrus Imapd 1.6.24, new version of authcheck daemon.
About: AFD is a program to automatically distribute files either locally or to remote hosts. The files are distributed by using FTP or SMTP, and can be sent in parallel and with priority. It provides a GUI to monitor and control the distribution and extensive logging of all activities.

About: Licq includes all the basic features of ICQ, like sending/receiving messages, chat, file transfer, contact list with pixmaps and user status, basic/extended user info, adding/editing users from within the GUI, user history, user groups, and new user registration. All commands and information are available through a simple and convenient tab dialog. Licq also has a completely configurable user interface with Skin and Icon pack support. It is written in C++ and comes with a GUI plugin using the Qt widget set. Other plugins are also available.
About: EnzymeTemplates is an object-oriented PHP library for templating data from an arbitrary database. It can grab data from your database without you having to write any SQL. It is part of the Enzyme open-source project. Changes: Additions to the INSTALL docs, and a few major (but subtle) bugs have been fixed.
About: mpatrol is a link library that attempts to diagnose run-time errors that are caused by the wrong use of dynamically allocated memory, including writing to free memory and memory leaks. Along with providing a comprehensive and configurable log of all dynamic memory operations (such as malloc(), operator new, etc.) that occurred during the lifetime of a program, the mpatrol library performs extensive checking to detect any misuse of dynamically allocated memory and has support for both memory allocation profiling and tracing. A wide variety of library settings can also be changed at run-time via an environment variable, thus removing the need to recompile or relink in order to change the library's behaviour. Changes: Can now determine the address of an illegal memory access on LynxOS platforms. Bugfix for when allocations are pages and an allocation is increased in size using space from a free block. A new magic file excerpt for use with the file command has been added. New build script for building Windows ZIP distributions. The tests are now included when building packages.
About: GNOME-DB is a unified engine for accessing database systems from different database vendors by using a uniform and powerful API based on a pluggable architecture. Changes: This version includes a (now working) libgda-server, which is a default CORBA implementation to ease the development of new providers. Almost all the currently existing providers have been rewritten to make use of this library, which leads to a more robustness in the whole suite.
