AlternC is automatic hosting software suite based on the Valentin Lacambre hosting system and Debian. It features a PHP-based administration interface and shell and Perl scripts that manage server contents. It can manage email, Web, and list hosting. It is available in French, English, and Spanish.

Changes: This release continues the Debian compliance challenge. Quota management was corrected, bind now forbids recursion and domain poisoning, and the Debian package uses po-debconf. New functions were also added, such as postfix saslauthd with rimap and MySQL user rights managment in the Web desktop. The .eu TLD is now properly handled.


Changes: This version includes a major rewrite of the installation procedure and upgrade managment. The alternc-mailman, alternc-awstats, and alternc-webalizer plugin packages were also rewritten. Management of server-wide domains, a new domain install script, and multiple profile quota managment were added.


Changes: This release fixes major security and packaging problems. This is the last version supporting Debian/Woody, and the first offering support for AMD64 and I386. Many bugs have been fixed, including a MySQL sock issue and DNS installation problems. The statistic package and the documentation package have been rewritten.


Changes: This release adds mail-domain aliases, changepass to the webmail, and a smtp/sasl/tls table for postfix. The install process works perfectly with Debian Sarge, and the plugins can be installed easily. Users are advised to upgrade.


Changes: This release has a new module package: AlternC-Awstats. It allows any user to manage his statistics with Awstats inside AlternC. This module is considered stable. Many bugs were fixed in the core.
