Apache Jetspeed

Apache Jetspeed is an Enterprise Information Portal that allows users to aggregate and organize various information sources and present them in a multi-device, user-customizable Web interface. It integrates a simple syndication system based on OCS and RSS formats.

Changes: The portal is now fully customizable by using the Web GUI. Either XML file or SQL database backends may be used for portal configuration and user profiles. LDAP integration was added for user authentication. Many standard portlets were added for more out-of-the-box functionality. The package is bundled with several default skins.

        Changes: JetSpeed 1.0 b2 introduces a new API named Portlets. A Portlet is similar in design to a Servlet/Applet except it runs on the server.

          Changes: Implemented more features to make JetSpeed more usable as a mail client (deleting, forwarding) as well as fixed many implementation bugs. The API has been improved to support Portal development.
