Ardour

Ardour is a professional multitrack/multichannel audio recorder and DAW for Linux, using ALSA-supported audio interfaces. It supports up to 32 bit samples, 24+ channels at up to 96kHz, full MMC control, a non-destructive, non-linear editor, and LADSPA plugins.

Changes: A crash bug was fixed when loading a new session into an existing Ardour instance. A crash bug, occuring when using Ctrl-drag to copy regions, was fixed. A naming-related issue when adding multiple busses at the same time was fixed. On Mac OS X, explicit checks are made for X11 and JACK, and if they are missing a dialog is posted before exiting. "Black blocks" in text were fixed on Mac OS X when Ardour was installed in a directory containing spaces in its name. Plugin GUIs are now guaranteed to appear on top of the editor and other windows. Clicks on plugins/inserts/send names now work even when numlock is engaged.

Changes: A new GTK2 user interface was implemented, featuring more accessible menus, improved overall GUI design, and instant accelerator key rebinding directly from the menus. Destructive recording ("dubbing") capabilities (as used by the new Harrison Xdubber) were added. Undo and redo are supported across program startup and shutdown. Support for VST was redesigned and is more stable. 24 bit integer native files are supported in addition to 32 bit float as in 0.99. Modular support was added for hardware control surfaces, including the Frontier Designs Tranzport and Mackie Control Protocol devices.

Changes: Send gain zipper noise was eliminated and send metering was fixed. Periodic safety backups were implemented and a crash related to the plugin editor was fixed. Problems with large track counts were fixed along with some other issues.
