avsomat

Avsomat is a variable star astronomy framework. It supports the automating of observation scheduling, identification and photometry of variable stars on CCD images, reporting, management, and verification of results. It uses electronic charts of the variable star fields and maintains a view of the current results in the form of a collection of interlinked Web pages with feedback forms, allowing members of the observer community to participate in locating errors.

Changes: This version includes a Web-based application, named "Involuntary Amateur Sky Survey" (diaskys), which searches in a database for CCD images containing a given position on the sky, so that one can check for the presence and magnitude of a suspect object. It can also search for images on which an object following a given trajectory may have been caught. Support for generating a suitable database from a collection of fits files is also included.

Changes: Navigation in web observation results and star monographies was improved. Feedback from Web users is now included on individual observations, and it is possible to make requests to AAVSO for relevant light curves and Web searches on a particular star. Monographies may now include links and comments from a database.
