The Bahamut IRCD is based on the EFNet Hybrid IRCD and has many additional features primarily designed for the DALnet IRC network. Its features include very high performance, compatibility with Solaris, BSD and Linux and a high level of stability under very high load, as well as many improvements over the original EFNet code. Bahamut is not compatible with Dreamforge as of version 1.2.0.

Changes: 'make profile' was updated. On glibc2 systems you can now kill -USR1 the process to get a current profile dump and restart profiling. Kline/akill/zline matching has been revamped, which should help greatly with lag under heavy user loads with many klines/akills/zlines. Denial of sending .zip files and . files (with a null extension), to prevent the spreading of exploits, was added.


Changes: The release features additional user and channel modes, and a channel qline reason display has been added. Other minor changes have also been made.


Changes: Various minor bugfixes, some error message changes/fixes, a fix for a cloaking bug, support to source from a different local IP address when connecting out to another server, prompting for max channels per user and oper password encryption in the config script, an updated Example.conf, displaying proper error messages when you can't join a channel, and a fix for the +a (away) who flag.
