Section: Unix

Added: Sat, Oct 18th 2003 10:02 PDT (4 years, 6 months ago) Updated: Thu, Sep 27th 2007 02:22 PDT (7 months, 19 days ago)

Screenshot About:
BMP is a media player which provides a very easy-to-use interface and usage semantics for all tasks, while having extensive standards and services support under the hood (MusicBrainz, Last.fm radio/scrobbling, HAL, DBus), yet keeping the details out of the way of the user.

[»] debian sources
by gid - Dec 9th 2003 23:33:09

Add this to your /etc/apt/sources.list, then apt-get update;apt-get install beep-media-player. Dunno who's doing those packages, I just figured it out from the url here on freshmeat.

[»] GTK2 xmms port
by RunNHide - Oct 18th 2003 23:47:46

I messed with this for a few hours tonight - finally got it to work :) - this must have been built against XFree86 4.1.0 because it kept looking for libXxf86vm.so - doesn't exist in at least my version of XFree86 4.3.0 so I worked around that - I also did a work-around so that this can be built and installed alongside the "normal" xmms for GTK+ without over-writing any files - and I also built RPMS for Red Hat (note: built on RawHide so I'll just give the SRPMS link):

http://runnhide.cjb.net/GZIP/xmms2-2.0.0-pre1.tar.gz

http://runnhide.cjb.net/SRPMS/xmms2-2.0.0-pre1.fdr.src.rpm

Have fun!
