I'm very sorry that you had got so many problems. That's why I've began to develop a "benmp3 v2" called "ginetob" which will be better than benmp3. I want to precise that i am french (so, i'm sorry for my english language) and i'm not a informaticien. First Benmp3 was developed just for me...
Sorry again for these problems, and try "ginetob"...
sorry, but not worth the download
Did not support WAVs, as the description indicated, requires you to ./configure;make;make install several libs first, although it is not documented (at least in English) Most instructions are in french as are the menus for the actual program, terrible error messages, and when I finally got it to run, (which was after I converted my test WAV to MP3, which I didn't want to do) it died on the file with french error messages.
Also noticed more than a few warnings when compiling, etc. This is just NOT ready for prime time. I wanted a simple console app to either loop (or i will make it loop via a script) to use for music on hold for the office, just play a premix file over and over. Super easy task, this program can't handle it. Almost no command line options except play, if you didn't want to use the interface.
