Box Backup
Box Backup is an online backup system for Unix. Backups are encrypted, and changed files uploaded using an rsync-like changes-only algorithm.

Changes: The diffing algorithm was highly optimised for speed. Bugs were fixed. Solaris support was added. Portability improvements were made, including a new autoconf based build. Xattrs are supported on Linux and Darwin, which backs up resource forks under Mac OS X. Experimental features include keep-alive on long diffing operations, saving state for non-server use, a native Win32 port, and support for MinGW and MSVC under Win32.

Changes: This is a maintenance release which includes a number of bug fixes and reliability changes, adds support for large files under Linux, and compiles on new platforms. Solaris and native Win32 ports are available from the project home page.

Changes: The server now stores old versions of files as patches from the current version for greater space efficiency. It was also changed to work under 64-bit systems. The client now recovers cleanly from corruption of its working files. The build system has been improved to work on more platforms. Finally, a few minor bugfixes were made.

Changes: Minor bugfixes. Improvements to the build process, including better detection of the environment on Linux, especially SuSE 9.x. Incremental improvements on existing features. A feature to allow an external script to pause backups.

Changes: This release has been marked as stable, but is not feature-complete. Changes include bugfixes, the use of AES for file data encryption, a Cygwin port of the backup client, and more management commands added to the utilities.
