chk4mail lists the number of read and unread messages in all the folders in your mail directory and inbox. This is especially useful to people who automatically filter their mail to several folders. It supports standard mbox format, MMDF, MH, Maildir, and remote mail folders using IMAP.

Changes: More options, better documentation, and several minor fixes.

Changes: A problem with the max header length which might cause read mail to be listed as new was fixed. Support was included for Courier-MTA style "Extended Maildir", a Maildir with multiple subfolders. The -m option was added to set the maximum mailfolder name length. The -x option was added to include folder names starting with a dot.

Changes: A -t option has been added to mark folders containing unread mail as new.

Changes: This version introduces extra flags for displaying answered and flagged (important) messages for all supported mailbox formats, it is now possible to treat unread messages as "old" mail instead of "new" as earlier versions would enforce, and there are some minor bugfixes in chk4mail and chkimap.

Changes: chk4mail now comes with a separate utility to quickly check your mailboxes on an IMAP server for new mail. A few minor bugfixes/enhancements appeared in the standard chk4mail utility.
