cpufrequency

cpufrequency is a daemon used to switch the CPU frequency depending on CPU use. This utility has been tested on P4, Centrino, and Nehemiah CPUs.

Changes: AC support was added to recognize an un/plugged external power supply. Support for HT (HyperThreading) technology was added. extractFrequencies was collapsed. The "-s" flag was added to activate a silent output mode with less logging and less syslog activity. The README was updated. A minor typo in the --help message was fixed. Many other minor updates and improvements were made. Some code restyling was done.

Changes: This release adds support for the VIA Nehemiah(R) CPU family, fixes a problem which occurred when the battery was not present, rewrites Centrino code for better support, adds new scaling_governor support, and adds some code restyling.

Changes: Both the P4 and Centrino CPU models are now recognized. Support for Centrino speedstep was added. A binary version is available for Red Hat 9. The source is available in the src.rpm and tar.bz2 formats.
