Crossfire is a multi-player graphical arcade and adventure game made for X. It has certain flavours from other games, especially Gauntlet and the rogue-like games (Nethack, Moria, Angband, and Ragnarok). Any number of players can move around in their own window, finding and using items and battling monsters. They can choose to cooperate or compete in the same world.

Changes: The World Map has been updated with new maps, along with various bugfixes and patches. Cosmetic improvements, dialog corrections, and clean-up are also included.

The GTK-v2 Client release contains minor improvements, numerous stability enhancements, and bugfixes. Some of the major changes include a progress bar to display experience, and Partial Resistance (PR) information within the client now updates properly.

Some of the major changes include new protocol commands so the client can get data it didn't have before, tweaks/adjustments to several races and classes, and a lot of code cleanup. This release removes old/unused code and has fixes for diagnosed crashes. This is the first official release since the migration from CVS to Subversion.

Crossfire
Crossfire is graphical, multi-user, 2D tile-based
RPG (role playing game) similar to Ultima Online,
Everquest, Moria, Angband, Omega, Nethack, Rogue,
Gauntlet, and MUDs. The bulk of the game is based
on predefined maps, however some areas are
randomly generated. It can be played under Windows
95/98/ME and Linux.
Version 1.0.0 is the first public release intended
for wide-spread distribution.
