Developer's Image Library (DevIL) is a cross-platform image library utilizing a simple syntax to load, save, convert, manipulate, filter, and display a variety of images with ease. It is highly portable and has been ported to several platforms, including the Pocket PC.

Changes: This release adds support for 11 new formats, a French translation of error codes, new bilinear scaling, a Mathematica interface, some bugfixes, and much more.


Changes: WBMP, Sun Raster, GameCube TPL textures, and IFF are now supported as inputs, and WBMP, OpenEXR, JPEG 2000, and TIFF can be saved to file streams. Windows Mobile projects and DevIL.NET were included. Doxygen documentation and improved PDF documentation were provided. Support for cubemaps and spheremaps was improved. Support for alpha-only formats (IL_ALPHA) was added. There were various bugfixes and much more.


Changes: The documentation and Valve Texture Format (.vtf) support were improved. Some bugs were fixed.


Changes: This release includes DirectX 10 support, better 64-bit support, German translations of the error messages, and more. The typedef void that prevented compilation with the latest GCC was removed as well.


Changes: This release has support for two new formats: Mac OS X .icns and JPEG 2000 .jp2 files. JPEG 2000 support comes from the library JasPer. The larger (256x256 and 512x512) .icns are compressed with JPEG 2000 compression, so those are also supported. A bug in the previous release for PNG-compressed .ico files that have a palette (non-standard) has been fixed.
