ding
Ding is a dictionary lookup program for the X Window system on Linux/Unix. It comes with a German-English Dictionary with about 253,000 entries. It is based on Tk version >= 8.3 and uses the agrep or egrep tools for searching. In addition ding can also search in English dictionaries using dict(1) and check spelling using ispell(1). It has many configuration options, such as search preferences, interface language (English or German), and colors. It has history and help functions and comes with useful key and mouse bindings for quick and easy lookups.

Changes: This release allows you to copy search results to the clipboard. It has some additional keyboard shortcuts, bugfixes, and an enhanced English-German dictionary (216,000 entries).

Changes: Additional entries may now be folded and compressed. UTF-8 encoding is used now. ger-eng.txt was renamed to de-en.txt. Bugfixes were made. Robustness was increased. The English-German dictionary was enhanced.

Changes: Ding now supports automatic searching. It may start searching when input stops, but this is user configurable, and is off by default. There are now 3 methods to minimize the window: delayed, when mouse focus leaves, or never (default). This release contains an enhanced and corrected German-English dictionary file (now 163,000 entries), and many bugfixes were made.
