DooM Legacy

DooM Legacy is an enhanced port of Doom, the classic first-person shooter from iD Software. It features high screen resolutions, an OpenGL renderer, fullscreen modes under X, client-server architecture for up to 32 players on IP-networks, Quake-style keybindings, a console, and more. It is available for Linux, DOS, and Win32.

Changes: This release contains bots, new FS functions, flat support resolution from 32x32 up to 2048x2048, translucent HUD in hardware mode, a new Solaris port and better compatibility between supported OS versions, support for OGG Vorbis and MP3 under Win32 (using fmod), a new master server host (the master server still needs to be up, though), and new editing stuff.

Changes: This release has improved OpenGL and Glide support, adds support for 3D positional sound cards, and improves map loading time. It also brings new editing features and improvements of the multiplayer part. There are also lots of other features and bugfixes.

Changes: This release has a new engine for Transform and Lighting, translucent 3D water and 3D floors, coloured sector lighting, improved load level time, better Heretic support, and experimental MD2 support.

Changes: Improved OpenGL renderer, support for a masterserver to connect your local server, 3D-floors, Fragglescript and Heretic. Along with the native Linux version comes an SDL version with support for Soft-Midi, based on Timidity. A self-installer based on Loki's setup is also provided.

    Changes: The problem with 3dfx Voodoo3/Banshee cards and the crash in OpenGL renderer have been fixed. A server query can now be properly aborted with ESC.
