DrawSWF is a simple drawing application written in Java. The drawing can be exported as an animated SWF (Macromedia Flash) file. It has been tested to run with Java2 1.4 under Linux.

Recent releases


Changes: Internal refactoring has continued. Bugs 716066, 734553, and 751274 are fixed. You can now specify system directories for fonts and use them (in the font dialog). Standard items are now added. This release has been translated into Italian. Some things missed in 1.2.7 are now internationalized.


Changes: UI improvements were made. A PluginInterface was implemented, and the first plugin was added for saving SWF files directly on a remote host via HTTP. Internal refactoring was done. I18n was implemented with translations for English and German.


Changes: There is support for images (importing PNG, JPG, and GIF), and the icons were replaced.


Changes: The SWF library now has a jar file to start the application. Also included are new text effect and editing features.


Changes: The storage format has been changed to SVG, scaling of windows is implemented, a splash screen is added, and only Java 1.4 is supported.
