About:
DreamHost supports automated billing. All hosting,
domains, orders, accounts, statistics, and billing
can be viewed and updated in the admin area (no
programming or HTML experience needed). It
supports all top level domains, and you can add or
remove as many as you like. Each top level domain
can be assigned a different registration cost for
each year (1-10 years). Customers can login and
update their account information and password. It
uses MySQL and PHP, making it very fast and
dependable. It includes many more convenient
features.

From a Buyer That Got Burned
by Jason A. Ramsey - Aug 29th 2002 12:02:17
I can in no way recommend this software to ANYONE in good conciousness.
Here are a list of problems that I encountered while attempting to
implement this product:
1. Support is supposedly available for 30 days after purchase; however,
though I sent NUMEROUS emails and even tried to call their phone number (it
rings five times and the guy's mom or girlfriend or something answers on an
answering machine) on several occasions, I was only able to get a response
once (see below).
2. When the software was purchased, I was led to believe that I would get
access to a peer support forum. First, I was supposed to be able to divine
the URL to this forum, apparently, because it was never communicated to me.
After finally getting someone to return an email, I was given the URL to
the boards and was able to post for a couple of days. Then, I changed my
password from the assigned password and was suddenly locked out of the
boards from then on. Though I sent email after email and called time after
time, no one ever returned my communications, and I am, to this day, barred
from accessing the forum.
3. Though the program claims to support Authorize.net merchant gateways,
the support is, by their own admission, broken out of the box. In fact
there are several show stopping bugs in the software that one user or
another has figured out how to hack around by playing with the code. I, for
one, was never able to make the software work with my Authorize.net
account.
4. Software is devoid of many features that should be required for any
decent accounting package. First, you cannot add existing customers.
Customers have to sign up through the end-user interface like they are
ordering service for the first time or nothing works. Additionally, the
only billing method that the software supports is credit card billing. If a
customer wants to send you a company check, well, good luck getting that
reconciled...
I finally just gave up and had PaySystems issue a refund back to me, since
I couldn't even get their attention with threats of challenging the charges
and besmudging their name wherever I had opportunity. This is obviously a
one-man outfit and he doesn't have the time (or talent, perhaps) to produce
a quality product and back that product up with some support. Anyway, I
hope this helps someone...

Oh, I forgot to mention that I've moved to ModernBill and couldn't be
happier with both the software and the support. It's only marginally more
expensive that DreamHosed, and it actually works...imagine that...

Buyer beware
by xe2 - Mar 13th 2002 18:22:28
This looks like very impressive software if it does what it is suppose to
do. However, one has to place an order first before they can see the
support forum. Placing an order takes you to PaySystems.com - where you
are told you must wait 24 hours before you software is shipped. This is
just the opposite of what they say their software does - providing realtime
authorization and billing.
Phone calls, during business hours are not returned - i have left several,
neither is my email returned - again several. It is now going on three
days since i placed the order.
DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now billing@paysystems.com which also supiciously lhas the same pattern as
billing@dreamcost.com tells me it will take 30 days before i can have my
$150 dollars back!

First of all, Paysystems runs a fraud check on all transactions before
charging the card. This is why there is a slight delay, although normally
the delay is much less than 24 hours. Second, xe2 ( i will not use his
name) voided his transaction before his card was charged, therefore his
software was not shipped. Third, the emails we received from xe2 consisted
of 3 emails in less than a 24 hour period. He received a response in less
than 4 hours after receipt of the first email.
At Dreamcost.com, we strive to always give prompt responses and to keep
our customers happy. We offer great products at great prices and we try to
make everyone's experience with us a pleasant one.
