Drivel is a GNOME client for working with online journals, also known as weblogs or simply blogs. It retains a simple and elegant design while providing many powerful features, including support for LiveJournal, Blogger, MovableType, Advogato, and Atom journals. (Systems based off these are also supported, including WordPress and Drupal.)

Recent releases


Changes: Drivel has been revitalised - initial 2.0.4 release includes the current patches from Debian and Ubuntu, patches from bugzilla that have accumulated since 2.0.3 and updating the translations. Also adds tag support for LiveJournal.


Changes: This release adapts to some changes to the LiveJournal and Atom systems, restoring compatibility with LiveJournal, Blogger, and similar sites.

Changes: Improvements since version 1.2 include support for Atom, Blogger, MovableType, and Advogato weblogs, as well as an offline mode. Drivel can now fetch the current track from Beep Media Player, and F7 acts as a shortcut key for toggling in-line spellchecking. The spellchecking language is selectable by the user. A draft MIME type has been added. Users can filter posts by LiveJournal security groups. Support for pinging Technorati is also available.
