Easysoft ODBC-Oracle Driver

The Easysoft ODBC-Oracle Driver provides ODBC access to Oracle for Linux and major Unix platforms. The driver supports Oracle 8.1.7 or higher, Oracle 9i, and Oracle 10g. It supports the latest SQL syntax and additional datatypes provided in Oracle 10g, as well as Oracle RAC and grid computing. It uses Instant Client and provides full OS authentication. It is easy to install and configure, and is compatible with unixODBC Driver Manager.

Changes: This version added major performance improvements and new optimization options that will benefit all users. Oracle statement caching and support for serialised transactions, session pooling, OCI connection pooling, and static cursors are now fully supported. New no-threading and no-parse options that can further improve performance under specific circumstances were added. Several minor bugs were resolved.

Changes: Support was added for Oracle 10g, including Instant Client, new Oracle SQL syntax, and additional datatype support. Oracle RAC, grid computing, load balancing, and failover were implemented. Performance tuning enhancements were made and DSN-less connections are used for fast connection times. Full OS authentication was added. Additional platform support was added. The licensing restrictions on database connections and concurrent users were removed.
