e:doc gives users of SGML-based systems the ability to design their own documents in a nearly WYSIWYG environment. It focuses more on a structured approach to the document content, rather than just being a layout tool, and gives the opportunity to write in a modern GUI while still being able to use the power of structured document tools like LaTeX and HTML.
