Evince is a document viewer for multiple document formats, such as PostScript, PDF, single page and multi-page TIFF, DVI, DjVu, and others. It features page thumbnails, printing via the GNOME or GTK+ printing frameworks, and searching within the documents. It supports the displaying of PDF indexes and the viewing of encrypted PDF documents.

Changes: Building with poppler without cairo support was fixed, as well as building with shared libraries and modules on Cygwin. DND operations originated in the same Evince window are now aborted. The exit status of commands in the comics backend is now checked for correctness.


Changes: Unmounting of devices on which the original cwd was located is now enabled. Creating and loading of documents is now based on Nautilus' MIME handling instead of evince's own documents factory. Endianess issues in the DVI and TIFF backends were resolved. A memory leak in the TIFF backend was fixed. Fading animations were fixed. Translations were updated.


Changes: Support for PDF optional content (layers) was added. The password dialog was reworked in order to make it more HIG compliant and consistent. Keyring support was improved. Support for monitoring and reloading remote documents was added. Progress information is now displayed when loading or saving remote files and when printing. Search speed was vastly improved. Page setup options can now be remembered. The message area is now used instead of popup dialogs for any error and warning messages. Many bugfixes, enhancements, and improvements were made.


Changes: A crash when searching was fixed. Symbol conflicts in the DVI backend were eliminated. printf() is now used safely. A bug with page transition in presentation mode was fixed. Menu labels were made translatable, and translations were updated.


Changes: Several features were added, such as automatic reload of documents, support for 7-zip compressed comics, support for media player keys, rotation keyboard shortcuts, support for TIFF document orientation, and more. libgnome and libgnomeui dependencies were removed in favor of libegg. libspectre is now required to build the PostScript backend. Many bugs were fixed.
