fget is a minimal HTTP/FTP download util with IPv4 and IPv6 support. It has been designed with little extra features to make it ideal for boot and rescue disks.

Changes: This release adds minor internal changes (not visible to users).
Changes: Proxy support (use http_proxy and ftp_proxy as usual), and a fix for IPv6 FTP support.

no. A boot or rescue floppy needs to be able to
retrieve tarballs from distant servers on the Internet, TFTP is for LAN use only, and frankly, it sucks. Try installing Debian via TFTP.
