Apache FOP is an XSL-FO formatter. It is used in conjunction with an XSLT transformation engine to format XML documents into PDF, PostScript, and other output formats.

Changes: This is the second production-level release after the big redesign effort. It includes many bugfixes and new features. The fonts installed on the system are automatically detected. The XML metrics generation is now optional. Support for the collapsing-border model in tables was added. Internal links in PDF now point to the exact location, and not to the top of the page. Support for UAX#14 type line breaking was added. This annex of the Unicode standard specifies rules for breaking text into lines depending on the language used.


Changes: This release is the successor of version 0.20.5, FOP's production grade version. It contains the new API first introduced in 0.92 beta; support for Open Type fonts; support for the rgb-icc() function and a proprietary cmyk() function; copy/paste from PDF content using embedded TrueType fonts; support for PDF/A-1b and PDF/X-3:2003; improved Java2D, print, and bitmap renderers; and automatic support for all Java2D fonts for TIFF, PNG, print, AWT rendering.
