Gael is an electronic design automation tool integrated into GNOME 2. It is designed to be easy to use, and to include advanced features. The design is very modular and open, using the GNOME component model (bonobo).

Recent releases


Changes: In this release, new, load, and save now mostly work.


Changes: All of the code has been cleaned up and prepared for the new architecture. This release has moved to using bonobo windows.


Changes: This release has zoom, nicer component/wire placement, a reworked UI, and is installable.


Changes: This version fixes a bug with wire connection, redesigns the schematic capture, and adds a properties management feature.
