Recent releases

Changes: This is a maintenance release for the 1.5.x series. It addresses some minor bugs and adds some new features, mostly "under the hood".

Changes: Some potential XSS issues have been fixed, along with hardening the email utility and verifying that post data isn't faked.

Changes: A notification email can now be sent when a new story, link, or event has been submitted or a new user has registered with the site. Following the "X stories in last 24 hours" link in the What's New block will now display just those new stories. User photos are now resized, just like images in stories. The plugin menu now lists all plugins which exist in the file system but haven't been installed yet. It also provides a link to the install script of those plugins for easy installation. Several new config variables have been added to config.php. Quite a few minor theme changes were made.

Changes: Images in articles can now be resized automatically, a static page can now be used as the home page, user registration can be moderated, submission queues can be switched off, the
and
tags now indicate source code, an enhanced links section was added, and anonymous users can now be blocked from almost every part of the site. A GeekLog site can now be disabled easily, and changes were made to the themes. Several localization and permission fixes were made. $_CONF['site_admin_url'] is now used properly, and the RDF parser was enhanced.

Changes: Probably the most notable feature is the ability to include images within articles. A couple of new themes have also been included, and a lot of bugfixes were made.
