Gob Online Chat is a simple, lightweight online chat system that uses a Java applet to interface to a small Java chat server. It is much simpler to install and configure than other chat systems, and requires no backend.

Changes: This release introduces compressed XML protocol support. This should enable enhancements to be made quickly and easily from a developer perspective. A new configuration file has been introduced to allow finer-grained control. This configuration model is easy to extend for future changes. The logging and debugging functionality has been increased.


Changes: This version has now been improved, with support for chat rooms and private chat. The applet is now displayed in its own window, and the look and feel has been improved. Support for renaming while connected has also been included. Various other bugfixes and protocol improvements have also been made.
