GRender
GRender is a GTK+ frontend for the "Alias Maya" and "MentalRay for Maya" render. It handles render job queues without starting Maya's interface, using all the power of the workstation. It is planned to make it a render farm manager for the 2.0.0 release.

Changes: This release compiles against grk2. The package is still migrating to the full set of features of grk2, but already compiles and works well. There is minor code cleanup and bugfixes. The port to GTK+ 2.2 has been started. This release compiles and is distributed using GTK+ 2.2 as the default. From now on, all the development will be GTK2-compliant. The man page has been updated.

Changes: The copyright has been updated to 2004. The "close.xpm" issue has been fixed. Command line options have been added. The generation of the environment for maya.bin has been changed. There are minor code cleanups.

Changes: GRender can now be compiled with GTK+ 2.0 through "./configure --enable-gtk2". The default remains GTK+ 1.2, as it has better backwards compatibility. There aren't any GTK+ 2.0-specific features in this release; the code is just tweaked to compile using the 2.0 version without errors or warnings. The binary RPM is built with GTK+ 1.2.

Changes: This is an early release: you cannot save sessions, cannot modify options without re-compiling, and MentalRay isn't implemented yet. However, it can render with Maya's default renderer, handle queues, and override Maya's Render Globals. This is a beta version, so it isn't recommended for use in a production environment.
