gurlchecker
gurlchecker is a graphical Web link checker. It can work on a whole site, a single local page, or a browser bookmarks file.

Changes: Now you can associate a custom user action label to each URL. The option for searching by HTTP status code was added. Virus name is now displayed in the page information frame. gtk_file_chooser_* is always used instead of gtk_file_selection_*. GET is systematically used instead of HEAD to obtain header information. The main window is used to show good or bad links in real time during the check.

Changes: This release fixes a compatibility problem with ClamAV >= 0.95, and rewrites a big part of the cookies management code.

Changes: One must save settings again before scanning for viruses. Content types to check for viruses have been updated to be more coherent. A virus detection problem, a content download problem, a segfault problem with settings validation, a compatibility problem with ClamAV 0.93 or higher, and an issue with options enable/disable management have been fixed.

Changes: This release fixes a problem with libtidy configuration. It fixes a protocol comparison bug. There is some documentation cleanup.

Changes: A bug concerning bad cookie handling in the HTML parser should be fixed now. A problem with URL detection in the CSS parser was fixed. Some modifications and clean-ups were made for configuration.

how to solve gURLChecker 0.7.6 compilation problem
hi,
for redhat users: they can download new libxml2 release (official rpm update are too old) on: ftp://xmlsoft.org (ftp://xmlsoft.org/).
gURLChecker should compil without any problem with the last release.

Troubles with old libxml2
Some people report compilation problems with libxml2 < 2.6. currently I am using libxml2 v2.6.3 on debian/unstable.

Because of recent savannah troubles people can not download anymore fromthere (this functionnality will be restored on january 2004).
For the moment you can download gURLChecker files on
http://labs.libre-entreprise.org/projects/gurlchecker/ (http://labs.libre-entreprise.org/projects/gurlchecker/)
however, no new release since last stable 0.6.3. I am currently working on project management for next unstable 0.7.4... a lot of work to implement this functionnality :-)
