About:
Haystack is a powerful tool designed to enable each and every individual manage all of her information in the way that makes the most sense. By removing the arbitrary barriers created by applications that only handle certain information "types", and recording only a fixed set of relationships defined by the developer, users can define whichever arrangements of, connections between, and views of information they find most effective. Such personalization of information management will dramatically improve your ability to find what you need when you need it.

install w/j2se 1.4.2
by rajeevk - Aug 15th 2003 09:15:56
Bundled swt jar and dll (2.128) are not "compatible" with j2se
1.4.2 and some earlier versions. Got to replace swt.jar and swt*.dll with
later versions from eclipse. Works for me with 2.135 of the swt.jar and
dll.
Also need to set HAYSTACK_HOME and JDK_HOME...

Where's the doc?
by Thule - Jul 25th 2003 21:56:49
It's not very clear how this application is started after untarring and all
under Linux.
The whole installation and use documentation seem to be missing.

Its now 2004 and its still not clear.
I double clicked haystack.exe and according to task manager its still
running, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
It doesn't seem to listen on any local ports as far as diff's of netstat
-a before and after show.
Hmmm

Well I tried the old one, it went through loads of setup when I ran
haystack.exe, but now it stays away too!
