hipergate
hipergate is a Web-based suite with intranet CRM, sales automation, email marketing, content management, a bug tracker, a project manager, groupware, a calendar, forums, file sharing, and directory services. It is based on Java /JSP for PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.

Can anyone explain to me regarding the hipergate built-in workflow engine !
1. What's the engine for ?
2. What can the engine provides ?
3. Any documentation about this workflow engine ? If yes, where shall I get it ?
Promising but needs to improve
The product is quite difficult to set up and version 1.1 still needs some fixings.
Once installed, functionality, stability and performance are all right.
If some minor improvements are made on future releases hipergate can be a good alternative for Open Source Java based intranets.
Good Java Suite
I had been looking for a Groupware and Contact Manager solution for a while. I used to ignore those based on Java but now I realize that there are good alternatives to PHP+MySQL.
This is quite a complete and impressive suite.
It is a bit cumbersome to install and some parts need futher improvement and refinement.
English documentation is also poor, been available only in spanish, altought it seems that they are progressing fast on translating it.
